    Disconnects for no reason

Besides the good sound quality, this speaker is a piece of junk. Always disconnects from my paired phone after about 30 minutes of play, then won’t connect to my phone. No reason, just won’t pair again without forgetting the device and unplugging/plugging in the speaker. Frustrating piece of crap.

Doesn’t work in Asst Living Facilities

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Does not work if you are on a shared wifi (e.g. dorms or assisted living facilities) because the network prevents you from pairing the device. Best Buy wouldn’t let me return it because I bought it well before Father’s Day and tried to return after being unable to set it up. Too much time had passed.

Best Buy sales person doesn't know his stuff

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Speaker is great but Best Buy service is bad. I had a Google Home speaker that went bad. I went to buy a replacement and they are no longer available. I asked the sales person if this replaced the GHome. He mumbled something but couldn't answer my question. I asked if the GNest Audio can be stereo paired with my other GHome. He said "yes, they are both Google." I got it home and discover it can't. That means I either have to buy another of these to make a pair or not have stereo, which is a prime reason I'm buying these to begin with.

The sound quality of this device is phenomenal. Unfortunately the voice control capability simply do not work with Apple Music. After shouting at it multiple times to play my custom playlist, I gave up, put it in the box, and it’s gone back! I do not wanna tie up any of my other devices to play this thing is a Bluetooth speaker.

    Plays the wrong songs

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

If you want this because you want to listen to your favorite songs, buy something else. The Google speakers will often play a strange version of your favorite song and you can't fix it. On a forum, this happened with many different songs, artists, services, methods. google help is no help.

Google removed basic functionality due to losing a lawsuit v. sonos. You can no longer control groups of speakers volume with voice controls nor on your phone. I highly reccomend NOT buying google products unless you plan on being OK with whatever else they decide to remove after sale.

Lots of "glitches"; device in another room answers

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Speaker is malfunctioning about 60% of the time. Ask it a question, and a Google device 3 rooms away answers for it. Then this one says. "oops, something went wrong, try again in a few seconds", or "There was a glitch, try again in a few seconds". That is what is=t sais at least 60% of the time. The inexpensive, little round assistants work much, much better.

Hello there, RichNEPA. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing some difficulties with your Nest Audio. The error message you're receiving may resolve on its own within a few minutes, but if not, follow the troubleshooting tips below:

      - Unplug your Nest Audio. Wait for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait for the device to reboot, then try to ask the Assistant your question again.
      - Reboot your modem and router.
      - If there are nearby devices that may cause interference, such as microwave ovens, wireless speakers, baby monitors, Wi-Fi routers, and other devices using the 2.4 GHz band, try to move your device to a different room.
      - If you get these errors frequently, try to move your device closer to your router.
      - If the issue continues, contact your internet service provider (ISP). You may need to update your router or modem firmware or upgrade your internet speed.

If the issues persist or if you've tried these steps before, then we recommend reaching out to our support team. Please contact us on our Google Help page here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

Very disappointed in the sound quality

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had high hopes that the sound from this little unit would be an improvement over our Google Home. Reading the specs it should have been. Unfortunately it seems like the engineers went for the extremes with the highs and lows and left nothing in the middle. It manages to sound too bassy and tinny at the same time. We both agreed that our original Google Home sounds much better. Too bad.

Hi jkhu, thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We're sorry for any inconvenience you may be having with Nest Audio, and for the shortfall in providing your support needs.

If you're willing to try, resetting Nest Audio may be helpful with the issue. A factory reset will reset your Nest Audio to its default factory settings. On the back of your device, switch the mic off. The lights will turn orange. Press and hold the center of the Nest Audio, near the top. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.

If the issue is still persistent, we recommend contacting our support team and we'll certainly do our best improve your experience here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

Terrible google needs to get with the program when it comes to routines and the audio quality of this device while much better than the minis is still very overly compressed and is lacking midrange. If it makes sense to you that acoustic guitar with vocals sounds louder than a full band then it’s great. But for me it hurts my brain.

Hi Rose, thanks for your feedback on the features of Nest Audio. We're sorry to hear that the sound quality fell short of meeting your expectations.

We understand that each person will have their own preference, in terms of sound quality, and for this reason, we added a feature where you can adjust both the treble and bass response for Nest Audio. You can change the audio settings of your Nest Audio in the Google Home app, and see if it might help improve the volume settings. Here's how:
      - Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your Nest Mini.
      - Open the Google Home app.
      - Tap the device you want to adjust and then Settings and then Audio and then Equalizer.
      - Adjust Bass and Treble level.

We also recommend placing your Nest Audio on a harder surface to ensure you get the best sound quality. If you need further assistance, you're more than welcome to reach out to our support team here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

    GOOGLE NEST SOUND SUCKS!!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Very poor speaker quality, worse than the nest mini which was surprising. When I tried to return to google, google agent told me it was past the 15-day remorse period, whatever the F that means (it was day 17) so she could only exchange it. I asked her why I would want to exchange a crappy speaker with another crappy speaker which she had no answer for. BUYER BEWARE, THIS SPEAKER QUALITY SUCKS! I bought a minihomepod from apple and it sounds fabulous!
