I had a lot of back and forth between these and the newer model but I can say this is the best option for most. Note the newer version is a lot larger and oddly is designed for outside while these work indoors and outdoors. They are very easy to set up and other than needing to figure out how to run your wires it couldn’t be easier. My only suggestion is to ensure you have very high speed Internet via a wireless connection. I personally use 3 Google Hubs wired using a merge at plug and that drastically boosts the Wifi speeds so it allows me to run both cameras and the doorbell on high.

This is our first Nest outdoor camera (we have 2 indoor). It was easy to install and provides very clear picture and sound. The cloud-based storage is easy to use and reasonably priced.

Dead simple to install and setup, picture quality is very good. Microphone/speaker for two-way interaction. Remote viewing/interaction from anywhere. Notifications to let you know if it saw or heard something. Typical Nest quality.

I have a number of these setup indoor and outside. They have a great picture and paired up with the Nest Security Plan and app its unbeatable.

Image good. Setting up very simple. It seems that on a very bright day even if camera is not directly in sun you lose WiFi connectivity. On overcast or cloudy day keeps connectivity.

Very happy with the Nest cameras. The only issue is they do disconnect often from our internet and not sure why. We have strong signals throughout our house but this problem seems to be common with other people I've talked to.

Nest cameras are not going to be the least expensive option but they're one of the few (outside you're own DVR camera setup) that offer quality 24hr a day footage capture. The outdoor cam has a solid feel too it and holds up to the elements well. Picture quality is good and the mic is sensitive - we get alerts that voices are heard when the neighbor across the street is outside talking. Having to be near a plug for power is a bit of a limitation but the supplied cord is decently long.

I have one cam at home and bought this pair for my shop. Easy to install and connect, excellent value and excellent quality. Picture is clear.

Great cameras, lose one star because of the Nest Aware system.

This outdoor camera has a good clear picture , and the night vision is clear. We live in the country and it is very dark.

These cameras are great and integrate with the google home system. Easy to install and keep an eye out on what’s going on around the home.

Excellent video playback — we've never had an issue with the 5 that we've purchased and we've had them for over 4 years.

The picture quality is excellent. No issues with connectivity and the view is covers my whole driveway and front yard. Installation was easy.

This camera was easy to set up, and provided a clear picture. The only problem I had was the location where I wanted to place the camera was too far from my wireless access point and I could not get a reliable signal to the camera.

So happy to have purchased these. We saved until we could get them installed at the same time as the doorbell. Clear picture and easy setup.

We love our nest outside camera we have been using nest indoor cameras for years it is so easy to access the cameras from phone or iPad the clarity at night with no light is amazing
