I've researched about a hundred outdoor cameras. I really didn't want something that had a monthly cost but the Nest Camera service is really good and not very expensive. I get notifications when activity is spotted and also get notifications when people are detected. I can't get that through a self monitoring system. I would have loved a PTZ camera but I like the size of these Nest Cameras. Their size makes them less noticeable and less of an eye sore. Very pleased with these cameras so far.

So when I purchased this camera I was looking forward to having added surveillance on the outside of my new home in the city. Thanks to this camera I have caught not once but multiple possible bike, Amazon grocery and package thieves! I love the live motion alerts, the real time video feed and DVR time lapse features! I highly recommend this camera over other competitors out there. I now have two cameras and have plans for future cameras on my other houses.

I already home two indoor Nests cameras, so I knew the outdoor camera would be just as excellent quality as my other cameras. It was easy to install, and adheres amazingly well to the side of my house which faces away from my deck. I can see the entire backyard. The voice over the microphone is just as powerful as the indoor cameras. I view the camera from my bedroom when I want to check to see if it is raining outside before I leave the house or check my lawn furniture and yard accessories during storms and high winds. I can watch my backyard from work to make sure my puppy does not find a way to get out of the yard. And of course, I purchased the camera for safety reasons. Sometimes my two dogs bark late at night warning me of strange sounds…strange to them. It may be a wild animal they hear or perhaps someone walking in the yard. Since I know better than to shrug off their warning, I simply check my Nest account from my iPhone to see what's up. It is a relief to have the capability to check my backyard late at night in the dark without having to actually open my back door.

to the point... pricey camera, wish it was cheaper price, but great features, clear picture, night vision a plus, phone app a plus and no storage unit needed. You do have to pay a monthly fee per camera, wish it was per account instead. easy to install and set up. love the microphone and audio record feature, basically like a 2 way radio. would purchase again.

Installed these for the MIL, and left wanting a set myself. Installation was simple and I was impressed by the parts that came in the box. The power cables were plenty long enough, it came with clips to help dress up the cable runs. I'd recommend some beefier anchors, but it does come with some basic ones. Camera quality is impressive in both sunny and dark settings. Getting everything setup in the app was straight forward and simple. The integration in the Nest App is well done too. The biggest hurdle I can't seem to get over is the monthly fee to get the most out of these. It's not much, and I see the value in it, but I'm not excited about it. I personally use the Arlo system at home as I like the flexibility of being able to move the cameras where and when I need them and I don't mind changing batteries occasionally. The Nest outdoor cameras are a very sleek package with great features and quality.

Bought these and work flawlessly. Have nigh vision, 2 way audio and an app that will blow you away. Can go back through footage, access through desktop, download video and will work with up to 10 cameras. You will have to pay for cloud storage afterwards but is 10 a month plus 5 more for each camera. Supports 5ghz wifi and have never had any issues with signal quality or disconnects. go for it you wont be disapointed

I compared among other outdoor security camera and decided to go with nest and it is easy go install and setup. I wanted to go with the power chord to avoid charging battery every so often. The night vision and mic/speaker are great feature. Only downside is only record 3 hours history and you need to sign up and pay 10 per month or 100 per year to have 10 days history. Other than that highly recommended this product

These cameras are super user friendly. It honestly probably takes longer to get them out of the box than it does to actually get them set up. The image is super clear, I can have clear conversations with people through the camera (audio both ways), and I feel safer knowing that I am able to view my house throughout the day...mainly to check in on my dogs! If you do have issues setting it up then they do have a great support team that can get someone out to your house to assist. FYI - You'll have to purchase a subscription if you'd like to be able to have your camera footage saved to a cloud up to 30 days. I don't have the subscription currently, and I can only go back 3 HOURS to review the footage so that's the only negative I would say. They are expensive, but I'm not marking that as a con because I think the price is well worth it.

Crisp, clear 1080p video and easy to set up and install. Just make sure you have a power outlet nearby. The app is easy to use as well, and it alerts you anytime there is motion or a person on the camera. Great camera for a DIY home security system.

Google - Nest Cam Outdoor Camera - 2 pack is one of my favorite purchases yet! I'm so happy with the quality of the cameras, I purchased this product 2 more times. I am not tech savvy and I was able to install the cameras myself, the hook-up is very user friendly and i can access the live video and play back right from an app on my cell phone. I would highly recommend this product over all the comparable products. The 24/7 recording is a great feature. The camera will alert me of a person talking, dog barking, and motion. The cameras have held up really well in CT weather with no problems.

Picture is amazing until you try to zoom in. You have to preselect a point and select zoom ahead of time to have a clear picture. $100 nest aware subscription is another downfall. Like the alerts sent to phone but they could be more to real time. Normally a few second delay. Can set up zones to any shape. Can invite whole family to also have access to cameras. Wide angle view gives great coverage of backyard.

I have a Nest thermostat so I thought I would try another device from Nest. I get a lot of packages delivered to my home. This surveillance solution is great. The quality of the video is outstanding and the two-way audio is also first class. The camera plugs into an outlet so you don't have to deal with constant recharging of the batteries.

The nest camera just works well. The video footage is clear as is audio. Infrared picture quality very good. App works wonderfully. Constant recording is great. Discrete, small size. Looks cool. Price for monthly service a little high, but fair. Depending on your layout installation is easy and a fun project if you like that sort of stuff.

I bought these after returning the Arlo wireless cameras... best decision ever. I have had zero issues with the magnetic mounts... even through 35-40mph wind storm. Sound and video quality are great both day and night. Am thinking of adding two more to the system as the Nest app integrates my other Nest hardware very seamlessly.

We purchased the camera for our second home in the fall of 2016. We compared several cameras, the fact that the nest is not wireless was our choosing point because camera is outdoors and we could not readily replace batteries. We are very pleased with out purchase - and our planning! The camera triggers notifications a lot! There are plenty of settings you can control in the main control panel, we have chosen to leave the camera very sensitive...this means it does notice bugs and spiders at night and sometimes shadows on a windy day. It is amazing technology! Set up was a breeze and our concerns about connectivity and possibly reconnecting when we're away - unfounded. The camera has worked seamlessly. We love it so much we added the thermostat!

Someone had suggested that I get these for extra security around the house. So much better than the adt hd camera they installed and was so easy to setup. My wife wants to get 2 more soon. You can even talk into the camera and here a response. It’s delayed a little bit but still great. Cheap for the monthly fee as well.

Nest makes the install, setup, and use so that the average consumer can do it without being a Techie. Packaging is up there with Apple. Installation parts are ample and high quality. Excellent image quality @ 3mp -1080p. The high resolution is needed due to it has a wide angel lense @130 dregrees so you can se imageges farther out. Digital zoom is ok but blurry at high zoom. Nest Aware gives you 30 days playback for free fire the first 30 days. The downfall. After 30 days nest aware is $10 month for 1st camera and $5 for each additional. That's one of the most expensive I've seen on the market. Nest does not allow 3rd party apps to record either. Nest needs to take note to what the other players are doing and adjust or they will be left out in the cold. Some third party players are finding the back door to Nest so I can't wait to use a their software on my Nest Cam. Otherwise a great camera

Love that it notifies you when it spots a person (not just when it senses motion)...so cool! Easy-ish to install. Thought the magnetic mount wouldn't be strong enough but it holds in place very securely and allows you to pivot the camera so that it points exactly where you want it to. Yay Nest! Keep making fun stuff.

I did a lot of research before choosing the Nest Camera as a security and notification device. The setup was easy and fast. The quality is excellent. Many people may be hesitant to purchase this camera due to the $10 per month subscription fee. Don't be. The service offers constant recording for 7 days, very easy to use software, great app for your phone, and the person recognition is well worth the price. You can view the video from anywhere/anytime and don't need to worry about a dvr. The microphone and audio is a little delayed but work fine for the purpose. I do wish there were more options to limit the amount of notifications, but otherwise is an excellent product. Highly recommend.

The camera can be set up by any one. I chose to drill into my garage to plug in indoor but not necessary. The view is clear, the angle is very wide and there is sound! The app is easy to download and use. Easy to add more devices. I have thermostats as well. I haven't noticed any strain on my wifi. So far so good
