I added the Nest Cam Outdoor (wired) to my Google Home ecosystem and it was a wise decision. It was replacing a indoor/outdoor Nest Cam with battery option. I wish this model had that option. The 2K quality and wider viewing angle is a welcomed addition, and the integration with Gemini is seamless. The notifications are highly customizable and the performance is reliable. It's a great all around performer.

Certainly an upgrade from the previous Outdoor Nest cam. The field of view is much larger, both taller and wider. Thats a most welcome addition. These are a smaller footprint than the older ones, which is nice. Last model's power cord and mount are not compatible, but a definite plus is the power cable is included here. Which is a savings of having to specifically buy the cable separately like in the past. Highly recommend. The AI feature is gimmicky and highly annoying - you'll disable that in the Home app after the first couple of days.

Camera was easy to install. It provides clear views of my backyard area. Looking at switching all of my cameras from Arlo to Google.

I’ve reached a point where my Google Nest Cam knows more about who’s at my front door than I do. Honestly, the AI person identification is like having a digital butler who never sleeps and never complains. It doesn't just tell me someone is there; it recognizes the usual suspects with frightening accuracy. Then, it serves up a daily summary that feels like a highlight reel of my life—mostly consisting of the mail carrier’s dedicated service and my own various attempts to carry too many grocery bags at once. The Privacy "Trade-Off": Yes, I’m fully aware I’ve basically invited a Silicon Valley roommate into my entryway. But let's be real: that privacy ship didn't just sail; it’s currently halfway across the Atlantic and probably has its own Instagram following by now. If I'm giving up my secrets, I might as well get a cool time-lapse of my day out of it! It’s kind, it’s helpful, and it’s surprisingly good at making my mundane routine look like an indie film. If you’ve already accepted our inevitable digital future, you might as well have a camera that’s smart enough to know the difference between a burglar and a delivery person.

This is our second set of these the only issue is the cord does not hold up past 3 years and to replace the cords is another $120 for both. Other than good picture.

Excellent upgrade over the previous version. The 2k resolution is a solid improvement, and the Gemini AI is absolutely a step up in reducing false alerts and identifying the correct ones. Response time is faster as well. I do have one complaint: I had previously wired my house for the Outdoor/Battery versions, and, of course, Google changed the connections, so I had to rewire everything again. Google needs to create an adapter that can connect to the previous plugs, especially for outdoor cams that require a lot of hiding wires etc.

Upgrading from the Nest Cam Outdoor and this new version is noticeably better. The plug in and cord is more streamlined the magnetic connector is more streamlined and adjustable, the picture quality is slightly better and it has Gemini built in.

Easy to install and adjust. Picture is great during the day, night vision is pretty good.

If you are looking for a true outdoor camera, get the other one. This one is still very nice and has a long cord for plugging in, but once it is unplugged, it turns off. So, when the power goes out, the camera will also turn off. Because of that, I decided to get the Nest camera with a battery instead. Nevertheless, it is still an awesome camera to have.

The Google - Nest Cam Outdoor (wired, 2nd gen) - 2K Video delivers sharp video and works reliably. I feel much more secure having this set up outside.

[Employee of bestbuy] Really solid camera overall. The video is clear day and night, setup was easy in the Google Home app, and I like not having to worry about charging since it’s wired. The smart alerts are accurate and it just works in the background without any hassle.

Excellent camera! Great picture and sound quality. Easy to install and it integrates seamlessly into Google Home. Alerts on phone work well. All that said, it's more expensive than competition. So, get it on sale and is really only worth it if you have other Google Home devices.

Excellent cameras. Wide view. I have them all around my business and home. We bought another to add a blind spot we just noticed. Pricey but worth it. With the home app, we can see the views from all over the world in real time

[Employee of bestbuy] This Nest cam is a great device. Easy to install and operate. The unit comes in two parts, base & camera. No need to hardwire because the camera hooks up to the base via heavy duty magnet so you can remove to charge via USB cord (included).
