I added two Nest Detects to my Nest Secure alarm system to provide coverage of two additional doors in my house. The installation was a breeze (since I had already installed the two that cam with the Nest Secure starter kit). From the time I opened the first box to the time I was completely finished installing/setting up both Detects was about 40 minutes. I'm currently using all four of my Nest Detects as door sensors, so I can't speak to how well they work or the installation aspects as window sensors or as plain motion detectors in a room. However, I wouldn't imagine those types of setups to be significantly different or more difficult. I highly recommend this product if you already have a Nest Secure alarm system or are thinking about buying one and adding additional Detect sensors.

I have had very few issues with them and they seem to work great. Once in a while they may lose the network, but it is short lived. It is nice to be able to hear if a door gets open as we get the ding on the Nest Secure. I have these on all my exterior doors, can be a little pricey.

Must have with Nest Detect core system if you have more than two doors. Would like to see these additional Detect lower in price though.

Love the multi features of the Nest Detect. They can be motion sensors, window/door sensors or both. The on/off button is great if you want to open a door or window with the alarm on and the path light feature is great if you are walking around the house late and night and need some extra light.

These are AMAZING to keep around the house. Not only do they detect if a door/window is open but they also sense motion. Plus, they light up at night when you walk past to help you navigate through your home!

These are very easy to setup and install and you can practically placed them anywhere for protection on doors and window. They even are great to use as a motion light sensor if you place the in a hallway or where ever you may be walking through you home at night.

Not much more to add from the title. These are super easy to install and come with crazy strong adhesive.

These things are so simple and easy to use, connect and has great features (nightlight, motion sensor, etc). Picked up extra to cover all door entrances to our home. Hard not to want to get more of these to cover all my windows, too!

Simple tags to alert you when a door or window has opened. Have these on multiple entrances and they work great. Has a nice path light at night and you can silence by touching them to have a stealth exit.

All Nest products are beautiful and simple to install!

I like that this door/window sensor is also motion sensor. So I did not have to buy a separate motion sensor. I also like that you can hit the button to deacitvate the alarm for 10 seconds. The size is ok. The only problem I have is the price. Most alarm system would include at least 4 sensors. Nest only included two, so I had to buy 3 extra at $50 each.

System kit only comes with 2 so I had to purchase another. Love the night lights on these things to help you walk through the house. I kinda wish there were more motion sensor lights like it/ no alarm to put on the wall. Like the sensitivity of it as well.

The nest system is extremely easy to install and work well with all the nest products. It tells you to lock and unlock door before you come back home or leave home.

I like the Next home security system because these Detect items serve as both a door sensor and a motion detector. It also serves as a night light when I am walking in the middle of the night. It sets up easily and works as designed.

I bought this Nest Detect to add an additional door to our Nest Secure system. This product detects when the door is open and also detects motion. The Nest App makes it super easy to install.

I love our Nest Secure system. We added some more of these Nest Detects and it was very easy. I’ve tested them repeatedly and they work great. We have multiple small dogs and the Nest Detect works appropriately with no false alarms.

I really like the Nest Detect because it works as a door or window sensor as well as a motion detector. It also has a great night light built in that is motion sensitive to turn on when you walk near it.

The Nest Detect is very easy to setup and install. The motion sensors work great and the path light is convenient. I have them installed on all of my exterior doors and windows.

I like using the Nest products as a back-up to our wired home system. I can do fun things like catch motion if we have workers in the home but do not want people to wander into certain rooms, for example. I use one of my Nest detects for an area of the home we like to keep open (windows open) and it is a great way to feel safe while the whole house alarm is turned-off (that is, the Nest Detect is on to catch unwanted motion, but our main house system is off while we enjoy fresh air on a beautiful day with windows and doors open).

My wife and I installed a Nest Security alarm system. It came with two of these Nest Detect sensors. We needed more given the number of potential entry points. The neat thing about this device is that it can be used as a magnetic sensor for detecting the opening of a door or window. It also has a built in motion sensor so it can be mounted on a wall, too. We placed two of these--one along a hallway way and one in the garage. This ensures that it'll detect someone breaking into the house via the garage or when they walk down the hallway. The device itself allows you to test its sensitivity to motion during installation, so you can adjust its location to suit your needs.
