They're not expensive, and you can set them literally anywhere in the house. Use them to monitor the temperatures across different rooms, or to adjust the temperature tailored to your needs in the room you're currently in.

I love these Nest temperature sensors. I purchased a Nest thermostat, and of course my thermostat is located in the hallway. I always sat in the living room and would freeze. So I purchased a few of these. I placed one in my living room, one in my bedroom, and one in my children’s room. I set the thermostat to use the sensor in the living room until bedtime, and then use the sensor in the bedroom. I have been able to have total control over my heating and cooling. These are a little pricey but I’ve been using rewards and gift cards to ease the pain. If you have similar problems with your heating and cooling, I would definitely recommend this sensor.

I love this nest thermometer. It really works great with my nest learning. Very easy to install. I will definitely buy at least two more.

Added this upstairs and it helps us balance out the temp in our home. Should have done it sooner.

I bought this sensor to monitor and adjust the temperature in the bedroom of our apartment, and it turns out that the bedroom is usually about 4 to 5 degrees cooler than the rest of the apartment. What's nice is that I can adjust the thermostat based off the bedroom temperature, but what isn't so great is the signal on this thing. It took several tries for the Google Nest to read the sensor in the bedroom because of low signal in a single bedroom floorplan, with a verizon FiOS router. It works well when setup, but just don't move it around and make sure it's close enough to the router.

Great if you don't have multiple zones on your furnace, or spend most of your time in one room during the day. I have forced hot air and central air conditioning when they set up the vents in my home they did a crappy job so with the sensors I find I can make my heat distribution a lot more even throughout the day and also I don't cook at night when I am in bed.

It’s great overall and so far has gone offline once. Has kept the other side of the house warm. Love this!

Does what it says. Reads temperature in rooms where a thermostat is not practical, and adjusts the thermostat for temperature in that room. Battery lasts a long time. Easy to set up and doesn't get in the way.

Essential if your air conditioning system's controller is not located in an optimal area for the area serviced, so the sensor can adjust HVAC output more appropriately. Nest sensor schedule settings not always dependable, though

Got this as a gift for my mom, and she loves it! Now she can check the temperature upstairs in her room while on the couch downstairs! No more running up the stairs with her bad knee!

These sensors are very useful if you have a Nest thermostat. I have 3 Nest Learning thermostats for the 3 zones in my home, and these are helpful to balance out any under/over conditioned zones (hot/cold) that may be due to layout or efficiency. I have these generally in a room, instead of the hallway where thermostats are located.

Great concept, poor implementation! Guessing a lot of people have this problem with forced-hot-air systems. The primary thermostat is on the main level and the (main) bedroom is on an upper lever - which, in the dead of winter/summer has a radically different temp from that main level. For instance, look at the uploaded pic. Main level is 63 and the Master Bedroom is 53. Not a problem during the day when no one is there but before bed you'd love to be able to set the Bedroom temp to what you like!? (yes single zone the the main level will get (much) hotter.) Nest will allow you to use the sensor for anyone (or all) of 4 pre-defined time slots (morning, afternoon, evening, night) BUT these times are preset and can not be changed. Pre-set times: Morning: 7am to 11am Midday: 11am to 4pm Evening: 4pm to 9pm Night: 9pm to 7am Sooooo, if I want to use the bedroom sensor to warm up the room, before bed, I would have to have the rest of the house sweltering from 4 to 9 or 9 to 7. Seems like - for as technologically advanced as these are; you'd be able to say bring my bedroom temp up to "X" at bedtime then revert back to the main thermostat!?!? Bottom line: for $40 bucks you get an expensive thermometer that tells you what the temp in that room is but really doesn't give you a way to truly "fine-tune" it.

Thanks for taking the time to provide us with this feedback, and we'll be happy to send this up as a suggestion regarding the schedule times to see if these can become more adjustable in the future.

I just received my nest thermostat sensor today and it is better than I thought it would be, small enough so it not In the way or too noticeable, easy set up and installation to the wall and To the nest app, now I have the piece of mind my family bedrooms have the right temperature as I live in a two floor house. I can either choose which room to keep the hotter or which one to keep the coolest at anytime I want.
