Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the Pixel 2 XL 64GB's camera quality, battery life, and ease of use. Many also appreciate the screen size and the phone's performance, noting the smooth operation and lack of pre-installed apps. However, some users miss the headphone jack and wish for more storage options or wireless charging capabilities. The absence of expandable storage was also a point of concern for some customers.

    I'm not ready for it

I've spent the last two weeks using the Pixel 2 XL nearly nonstop for business and personal needs, and feel like after 50 or so hours hands on I have a good handle on its shortcomings. Here's what bothers me about the phone: 1) cannot shoot 4k video at 60fps; 2) iPhone display looks better especially on video playback; 3) can't turn off the Google Assistant voice, so it always speaks an answer out loud when I would prefer it stay silent and merely display an answer (annoying out in public when you ask Google Assistant "what's the forecast" and it starts blathering for 20 seconds); 4) Google Assistant often gives incorrect answers to questions, or occasionally simply freezes when asked a question; 5) you can send a text message via Google Assistant by saying "send a text message to Bill Smith" ... but it won't reliably send an email; 6) Google Pixel tech support is easy to contact and friendly, but their Philippines-based employees are far from expert; 7) the speakers heavily distort sound at high volume, so as a practical matter you're limited to using 2/3 volume; 8) the battery charges slowly.

The Pixel 2 X is by far the best smartphone I've owned. Actually planning on purchasing the Pixel 3 XL in the next few days. Best camera, love the No Blotware, fast, all day use.

Great phone with one major flaw

Let me just say off the bat, that this is by far one of the best phones I have ever owned. There is a lot going for it, from its excellent camera to its wonderful battery life (5 hours of on screen time) to its surprisingly pleasant speakers. The updates come quick and the phone is still relatively fast (I am on month 4). Okay, now lets talk about the flaw. The screen. It is mediocre at best. Google has tried to patch things with its software updates, but that only helps fix one of the several issues with the screen. I would say this, if you spent a lot of time indoors, then this is one of the best investments you will make. If you are the sort of person that is always on the go, and is always using their phone outside under constant sunlight, then i would recommend saving a little more and buying the pixel 3.

This phone takes some of the best pictures, better than any phone I have owned before it! Though I miss the headphone jack and universal charging cord (why I rated it 4 instead of 5 stars), this phone is very easy to use and runs beautifully.

I've been a google products user for a long time. This is the 1st google phone I've purchased. I had previously purchased Samsung phones. Everything about this phone is awesome. Keeps a battery charge all day long. The camera is awesome. Works flawlessly with all the google applications and products that I use. I use it on the Verizon network. I debated about getting just the 64GB phone, but with the unlimited google photo storage that's not been issue. Probably the best thing about owning the Pixel 2 XL is that you get all the google updates when they come out instead of having to wait months with other phones like from Samsung.

Love the black level of the screen, speed, ease of use. I definitely do not want a larger phone as this one is about all my pocket can handle. I can do without the active edge.

The phone is a nice size using a majority of the phone. Sound, display and features are fantastic. I have been with Apple products for years and finally made the switch and happy I did. Since everything I have is Apple I was a bit nervous making the transition, but glad I did!

This is my first non Samsung phone in my last 5 phones and I will never look back. The screen is smooth and crystal clear, apps load exceptionally fast and are organized simply and easy to find. I have trended to watching a lot of streaming video at night before bed and this is a large high resolution image. There are a few little add on that Google has put in that my iPhone buddies wish they had. So far after a week this is a great phone. My next phone in 2 years may very well be another Pixel. The only drawback is the phone is very thin and a little slippery. I put Speck case on it and the problem is solved.

Picked up the Pixel 2 XL in the midst of all the hype around it's screen "bluishness" and speaker "crackling" issues. I experienced none of that. All I have experienced since I purchased was a blazing fast phone with unbelievable camera that is the envy of friends and family. Oh and the squeezable sides being a gimmick... NOPE! I used them all the time! It's better than saying "OK Google" all the time. Really, no regrets at all with this purchase and Best Buy had it in stock the day I walked in the store. I didn't care about getting the "Just Black" color since I have it in a case - no one would even know!

This phone is really great. The camera quality is insane and the stock Android makes it feels supper buttery smooth and fast. Only grip is the tint change when viewing the screen at an angle, but for a majority of the time it is not a big problem.

This is my 2nd pixel device and am absolutely in love with this phone. The camera is bar none one of the best, it just straight up shoots great pics without any hassle. General phone experience is good, I prefer the simplicity and bare bones out of the box so I can setup how I like. Battery life is good but not great. As a power user I can definitely drain it in less than 8 hours, but on an average work day I will come home with 40-50% battery left, enough to play/browse with until bed time and plug in. 10/10 would recommend

Love this phone so far. There were some negative reviews about the screen and and other small details which I have not experienced. The camera on this phone is amazing! Very fast and responsive UI. Quick updates that come directly from Google. If upgrading or coming from ios I would recommend this phone.
