    Great Phone I love it

This is a great phone later in the year. Google is still a new brand working out some of the kinks. The pixel phones are always the best right before they launch the next one. I wouldn't recommend buying one hot off the press because there are always some bugs that need to be worked out, but I love mine and wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm #teampixel.

Looks great, but very, very fragile

I have had my pixel 3 for 10 days. Loved it at first, but then it turns out the battery life is disappointing. The camera is nice and takes great pictures. However, today, I dropped it from not very high up on hardwood floor (that isn't that hard) and the back panel (which is glass) completely shattered. Very disappointing, no aluminum casing, but just glass that breaks easily. I can now see the inner components. Google recommended a service that would charge me $400 to fix it (apparently both the back and front panel need to be replaced). $400 to fix for an $800 phone. Something is majorly wrong here. I'm going back to an iPhone, used to have them for many years, they were able to survive gentle drops without any damage. So disappointed in Google!!! Yes I shouldn't have dropped it, but no it shouldn't completely shatter so easily.

    Not the best

The only good thing about this phone is the camera. Other than that, it's buggy and crashes, activating takes longer than it should, and not very user friendly. Not worth the hefty price tag. The sound is also terrible, can't hear a thing. Have to use speaker phone to barely hear anyone and calls are missed consistently because the ringer is so silent, even with maxed out volume.

The camera is as good as people say! That's about all I can say that's revolutionary. I'm finding the software design sloppy and disconnected, and smart features keep disappearing due to contracts or something. It's kinda boring and sluggish using last years processor running this years software. It's not magic. It's just a regular android phone. If you like what you have, stay with it, this wont solve your boredom. It's too pricey for what it really is.

    Hardware issues and poor service

I have had My Pixel 3 for 3 months. A few weeks ago I started having issues with the camera. Often the preview screen is just black and none of the controls do anything. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Other times it will lock up and I cannot even get out of it and sometimes it just closes on its own. This is all from the Pixel native camera app. Rebooting the phone will get the camera working for a few minutes. Other people are reporting the same issue in various forms. I contacted Google support and they said to do a factory reset. I did this and the issue did not improve, which points to a hardware issue. Google then told me to work with the retailer and come back to them if the retailer wouldn't take care of it. I took the phone back to Best Buy and spent a half hour there while she was supposedly processing my return. Finally someone else came out and said they cannot return phone's and I would have to go back to Google. So I did and now Google is telling me I have to send my phone to them, they will inspect it, then send me a replacement in 10 to 18 days. This has proven to me that buying from Best Buy had no value to me and I should have just bought online. It also proves that Google does not care that I paid good money for a flagship device that only worked correctly for 3 months and now I have to jump through hoops to get a defective product replaced. I should also point out that I baby my phones and nothing has happened to this phone to cause any issues.

    Heavily Overpriced

I switched from the Samsung Note 8 to the Google Pixel 3, and I cannot understand why the Pixel 3 is $1000.00? The Note 8 costs less and has many more features and better quality components than the Pixel 3. For example, the Pixel 3 has no face recognition to unlock your phone, no retina scanning, no heart rate monitor, a lower resolution screen, no expandable memory, no headphone jack, no stylus, a smaller battery, it's smaller overall, and has massive bezels. I'd you're looking for the best bang for your buck, the Pixel 3 is not the phone for you. You're much better off buying a Samsung, or any other Android phone that has more features and costs less. I strongly advise against paying $1000 for this phone. If you really want a Pixel, wait until the price matches the hardware. $700 is a more accurate price for this phone.

Amazing phone but too EXPENSIVE! 3 starts due to price. Considering there are more and more high quality phones with similar tech and specs for $500. If google wants everyone to use their phones, make it accessible to everyone!

    Disconcerting security issues

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have had nothing but trouble since getting this phone. Most of the issues are text message-related. I have had an issue where a message I sent to one person was received by someone else. The message shows under both conversations, but will also disappear from both. I often can't send photos or links to people, and recently, can not send any messages to one person. The settings are a mess. Apps have individual settings which can override phone settings. The phone setting "display over other apps" does not work. Many other settings seem to work sometimes, but not others, with no change to any other setting. Call quality is very poor and any time I'm in an airport I can't even get a call out. Among many other issues, these things make this phone a hassle to use. This is the last Android phone I will own, and I will begrudgingly go back to Apple phones after this. I wanted to love this phone so much, but it's infuriating to use after 4 months

    Horrible Battery Life

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Overall this phone is simply ok. Based on just the battery life I am tempted to give this phone a 1 star review. I am not a heavy user and usually have to recharge my phone twice a day. For a "top tier phone" this is unacceptable. My old Motorola could hold a charge for 2-3 days even after 2 years of use and performance was comparable. I would not recommend the pixel 3. In my opinion it's an overpriced phone.

    Should have stayed with Samsung

I switched from the Galaxy to try something new and figured the Pixel was a good choice since I use Google programs so much. The phone had issues immediately - port worked about 65% of the time for charging and music, screen rotation randomly rotated, speaker phone barely worked, and the finger print was useless. I gave it a couple of weeks, ran updates, tried tweaking things, and during those couple weeks - I dropped it about a foot and the screen shattered. All the other defects went out the window and Verizon literally laughed at me and said to go through Asurion. I ordered a new one ($200) and it worked just fine so I assumed the first one was a lemon. About a month later I dropped it about a foot again, not hard, and the screen shattered again. I had my S7 for 3 years and dropped it at least 12 times and the screen never cracked once. This Pixel has an extremely fragile screen. I am already hearing bad things about the Pixel 4. I would stay away from these phones.

    Horrible Connectivity

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The phone has horrible connectivity issues in general, particularly when using data. The side effects of this are that calls/SMS messaging do not work nor does anything that requires data like surfing the web/streaming music. The problem does not lie with my carrier (AT&T) as I used their service with my old Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which worked perfectly well. The problem is also not specific to a location since the phone fails everywhere. To fix this I have: (1) cleared caches, (2) restarted my phone multiple times, (3) checked that my data plan is still allowing me to use data--it is, (4) looked over the settings to make sure there isn’t a limit on the data that I can use, and (5) ensured my software is up to date. Connectivity is vital in a smartphone and a lack thereof renders the Google Pixel 3 XL pretty unhelpful. There always seems to be an “x” on signal bar indicator on the upper right-hand side of my screen. I am very disappointed in this product and my faith in Google hardware has been damaged.

Defective Device and Poor customer support

Please read this review before you buy this phone and hope it helps you. 1. Google Pixel 3 has severe manufacturing device like the phone flashing when the night mode is on. The flash is very very bright that it always hurt my eyes. I read in the forum to not turn on the night mode as a solution and this problem is actually in the OLED panels that is manufactured from LG is what I have to understand and almost all the pixel phones will get to this state at some point with in 2 years. 2. Out of the blue the phone turned off and the battery became completely dead and will not turn on. The only way to turn on the phone is to keep the phone connected to a charger. Yeah! Hello Mobile Smart Phone! 3. When I reached to customer support, they will only replace the device with a refurbished phone. 2.

    Software bugs

Wow have only had this phone for a month and problems left and right. Yesterday tried Snapchat screen just black then went to go to camera app just black screens. Then u try to use camera in Facebook or Instagram forget about it black screens. U talk to Google they says it's the third party apps causing the crash. My fiance also got the phone has problems with Bluetooth connection of her Bluetooth headphones and Fitbit at the same time. At the beginning Google assistant wouldn't recognize my voice but it's because the app messed up. I've had to put this phone in safe mode at least three times to solve a problem. So much for leaving Apple iPhone 6s for this. a phone that bricks itself because of the greatest camera. And thank you Verizon and Best buy for your 14 day grace period best customer service ever.

Had the phone for about 4 days now. Battery life is terrible and youtube experience with the off center display is just terrible. Going back to iphone 8 plus, I'm not ready for the notch life. Loved all the AI features but battery life trumps all for me....

This phone is junk, the battery life sucks apps freeze all the time and you have to restart the phone. Pictures do not save. Call quality is terrible lots of static and you cannot hear your calls. Google assistant works only sometimes. The call screening is great though and spam screening saves you getting spam calls. Beware if you buy this phone. I have been into Verizon to have my phone troubleshoot and they all say the same thing there is nothing they can do just wait for the next software update. My phone has the current android version on it. Save yourself grief do not buy this phone.
