This iPhone convert is very happy!

It took a couple of weeks to adjust fully, but now that I have, I may be able to say that I've bought my last iPhone. First off - Google makes transferring iPhone data easy as can be. So if that's a concern for you, like it was for me, then lay it to rest. Is transitioning perfect? 90%, I'd say, which was much better than I expected. All of the same apps that I had on my iPhone automatically downloaded to my Pixel 4! Secondly - after I adjusted to gesturing/swiping without a home button, going back to an iPhone or iPad feels really clunky and moronic. Gestures rule. Third - I just find the whole system is better. I like Google calendar a lot (a major concern and one reason I initially resisted changing) and don't find that I miss any of the Apple apps that I was worried that I would. As for the cons ... I know many reviewers cite the battery life of this model. For me it's fine, and actually an improvement over my dying iPhone 7. ;) I get 24 hrs from it, which is fine for me, since I dont travel much. In sum, I'm happy I switched and am happy with this model in particular.

I know a lot of people online gripe about the battery life, but it really isn't that bad. The Soli chip is fairly useful and doesn't glitch out as much as people make it seem. You gotta be more natural and casual with your gestures and not so up tight.

    Another Solid Google Phone

There are a lot of great things about this phone. I've had my Pixel 4 for several months now and I am overall happy with it. The only reason I'm taking away a star is because the phone uses facial recognition instead fingerprint for authentication now. The facial recognition has been overly sensitive, often unlocking my phone when doing things like simply glancing at the time on the lock screen where I don't want the phone to unlock. I've found myself looking at the phone at odd angles if I don't want it to unlock. To add to the problem with this feature, now that face masks are required for doing almost anything, the feature is completely useless and forces me to have to type a lengthy password any time I wish to use my phone when out of my house. Unfortunately, due to the current situation, masks aren't going away anytime soon (many employers will be requiring them for the next year) and I really miss the fingerprint reader.

I upgraded from a Pixel 2 and am extremely pleased. The 90Hz screen is awesome! The feel of the phone is very nice and gives a "premium" feeling. The camera is incredible. I do not use my phone constantly like a lot of people so I can get 2 days or more out of a single charge. Highly recommend this phone.

I'm still getting to know my phone since I was a Samsung girl for years. Overall it's been an easy transition and has been a pretty easy phone to navigate. Takes awesome pictures, too. The only thing I miss is storing my music separately on the SD card I used in my Samsung. Otherwise, no regrets!

Overall phone was great. After a while the battery started to diminish, to the point where it barely lasted a full day. Could've just been that specific phone though

$300 savings at Best buy, vs. full retail straight from Verizon. Glad I shopped around! Pixel phones are glitch free and are super reliable. (Between my wife and I we have owned a 2, 3, and now 4). We keep going back because they are reliable and take fantastic pics.

If you're worried about battery life get the XL, otherwise use the phone sparingly if you forget your charger. Nonetheless, would buy again for well-built quality and latest stock Android.

The phone is good, but no 'back' button

In general the phone is good, with good cameras. The one problem is that there is no 'back' button unless an application has one, and even those applications that have a back arrow don't all work correctly. For example, In Fandango, if I open a movie trailer and then hit back it takes me to the Fandango home page where I have to search for theaters again. On the Washington Post, If I open a story, then open a story within the original, there is no way to get back to the first story. Samsung and Amazon products all let me return to the previous page regardless of the application, and I never had these problems. This is a strong negative in terms of usability.

I love this phone a lot. I've never been on that apple gang but definitely been a supporter of pixels since the first one and I just can't see ever leaving this phone. Only complaint is this phone gets very hot sometimes. Especially when I'm on duo.

Abysmal battery life and overall experience

The phone has abysmal battery life - dropping over half of its charge within the first few hours of my morning. Forget lasting a whole day, I can't even get this thing to last through an 8 hour work shift. It's also starting to run hot, and all of this within less than a month of ownership. Apps regularly freeze and crash, the messages app does all kinds of weird nonsense like the feature to take photos directly from the app either taking an eternity and a half to activate or taking up the whole bottom of the screen so you can't see any of the photos you want to attach at all until you restart the phone. I've discussed with google a couple times, and their suggested solution is always to do a factory reset on the phone. I wouldn't have picked up this thing if it hadn't been at such a steep discount and the store rep hadn't insisted that an exchange was required instead of a return to keep my account open. I'd avoid it if you can. Get anything else. Anywhere else.

      Hi sendian82,

We really appreciate your feedback, and we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing poor battery performance and freezing issues.

We try to upgrade our battery experiences year-over-year, with software features like Adaptive Battery and Battery Saver to continue extending Pixel’s battery life. The Pixel 4 is intended to have high-performance, all-day battery that charges quickly.

We recommend taking a look at your battery stats and see if any apps are using an unusual amount on power you can do this by searching 'Battery Usage' in the search bar.

We also recommend updating the latest Android version to help with the freezing/crashing issue.

If you continue to have battery or freezing issues, we recommend contacting our 1:1 support (From your phone click on Settings > Tips & support > Contact us). googlepixel

I've been a Google phone user for many years, going all the way back to the Nexus 5. No, I don't buy Samsung or any other bloated phones, just pure Google phones. This one, by far, is the worst phone I have ever had. I've never seen so many bugs in a phone before. Google just can't seem to get this one right. Other than the bugs, it has a great screen and the battery life is fairly decent. I'm definitely considering an iPhone next time, and I absolutely loathe apple products. Who knows, maybe Google will fix this bug infested phone and I'll end up liking it.

Pictures are great, bit it is difficult to close camera and other apps. It lacks an expansion slot, a definite drawback. I am still learning. It probably would be easier if there was a manual.

Coming from Android this phone was easy to learn. It is quick to respond. I haven't yet taken the camera past the beginnings. Pics are crisp and clear. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is poor battery life and size. Battery doesn't last all day. I do use my phone all day because I use it for everything- surfing the web, shopping etc. This is where the problem with size has occurred. I need to shop on my tablet because this phone is too small. Prior to purchase I compared the pixel 4 with the 4 xl and thought not much difference. I was wrong.
