Really love the pixel. It's so clean and fast. iPhone and the galaxy phones have become too busy with the features and harder to navigate. This phone is super neat in that regard. Clean and fast user interface.

This device is wonderful, the UI is consistently snappy and fast, also Google's personal assistant paired with my google home and Chromecast makes a fierce team when it comes to streaming music and videos.

If you want the best android phone and want to enjoy the pure Google experience then there is no other phone on the market that can do it as well as the Pixel or Pixel XL. Best phone I have ever owned.

Great phone! My only issue is that the camera at times take photos that lightens the color of objects. Not a huge deal but a nuisance when you want to sell something and need an accurate picture.

Purchased this Google Pixel Phone based on a high recommendation, and it does not disappoint (thus far). Phone features are cool and so easy to navigate even for non Google Pixel phone users.

While the Pixel is a nice phone, the layout is not overly impressive and rather basic. The build of the phone is somewhat better than the iPhone and most of the Galaxy Series phones. The partial lower textured back with glass upper and fingerprint scanner is a nice touch. Navigation is very easy and responsive, but for a premium priced phone its not water proof. Setup is easy and the processor is fast. Camera is amazing. Drawbacks are Verizon specific unless you by directly from Google then it works on any other network, and no additional space for memory, unless you save to the cloud. I was able to set up on T-Mobile with no problem. Did not have a lot of bloatware.

The Google Pixel is the latest hardware offering from Google. Having left the Nexus line behind, Google is moving forward with its Pixel line of phones. The Google Pixel sports a quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor, and 4GB of RAM. To the non-techie, this means these phones are not only snappy, but have an excellent battery life. Every task, even taking pictures, is a snap. The OLED touchscreen has amazing colors and brightness, making this one of the sharpest phones ever. With accurate color representation on-screen, you're always getting a n accurate representation of the subject matter in an image. The greatest impact the Pixel will have is on your Photos. No matter what level of phone user you are, it is a safe bet you use your phone to take pictures. The camera on the Pixel is outstanding. It is hard to take a bad picture, even in low-light. For Pixel owners, Google is giving you unlimited Google Drive storage for your photos, and with such a great 12 MP camera, you'll need it. It also shoots 4K video with the same great results. Reception and call quality are excellent, and even the speaker phone works great. combined with an excellent WiFi antenna, the Pixel leaves nothing to be desired as far as connectivity goes. The body of the phone is a combination of metal and glass, giving it a very unique sleek look and making it easily identifiable. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back, which is is conveniently placed for one-handed use, and it scans prints very reliably. The other major selling point for the Google Pixel is that it is the first phone with Google Assistant built-in. Google Assistant is similar to Cortana, Siri, or Alexa, allows you to get help with all of your daily activities, including reminders, itinerary planning, hands-free operations, and more. As Google's AI systems become more complex, the Google Assistant will become more powerful, touting future advancements such as translating speech to specific dialects, not just specific languages, photo recognition, and more. To date, the Pixel is the best phone I have ever used, and I've used just about every phone out there.

It is a Nexus (No Frills android) in metal body and at a price of Flagship. So let’s check what this Flagship misses against other Android Flagship. (After all when you are parting with $650) No Wireless charging. No External battery or micro sd support. No manual mode in camera, Aperture is 2.0 (Not 1.8). (White balance is off under tungsten light. Pictures coming out a little yellowish. Otherwise it’s a good camera.) No heart rate sensor. And these are features already there in last gen Samsung/LG Flagship. Not good Google; considering this phone is not priced like a Nexus. Hardware Issues observed: Pixel adapts glass on the top half of the back; it still does not solve one issue though. Bluetooth gets interruptions if your hand is placed on top right side of phone. Launcher: The assistant is good but pixel launcher still does not offer many features of standard launchers. I mean how difficult is it to allow creation of folder in the app drawer. Thankfully Nova Prime works beautifully. The android experience is vanilla; I like it but I want my phone manufacturer to put some unique features as well; which I should be able to configure. There is nothing here but assistant. Speed: This is among the very fast available there (though not the fastest); 821 chip with 4 GB of RAM and only 1080p to push. It is SNAPPY. Getting a score of 136435 in Anutu benchmark. For reference S6 got 65K and S7 hangs around 136K. Verizon or from Google: The phone from Verizon; comes with no Verizon branding on surface. Only three applications from Verizon; which can be uninstalled easily. And unlike other unlocked Verizon phone; this one seems really unlocked. You can put a T-mobile sim and create a hotspot (a feature always blocked on Verizon phones I tried). So you can safely buy it from Verizon; there might be a matter of updates but I think; this being Google latest child; will get its due credit. The metal body. Phone looks great in black metal; edges are not all symmetrical but you stop noticing after a while. One qualm I have is that its slippery; It really feels like it won’t grip in my hands; but well that is true for most of the metal body. And a case should solve it. No QHD Screen: I did not notice ANY difference between a S6 QHD screen and Pixels 1080 screen. My eyes could not differentiate at all; and I tried Netflix, Youtube and few games as well. So for all practical purpose this is a good thing. Less pixel in screen means the hardware need to push less which will help save battery. Kudos to Google for choosing practicality over the number race. The screen is AMOLED; but does nothing much apart from lighting up once for notification. It can be used for so many things (Remember Glance from Nokia, or edge feed from Smasung) but again; Google did nothing in this department. So this is how I see Google Pixel; A nexus experience in metal body and with google assistant for a price tag of $650.

I completely agree with the other reviews, excellent phone in all aspects; mostly 9 out of 10. Google's Pixel phone certainly erases all thought of the challengers.

I must admit, I'm not one that jumps at every new smartphone launch. My Galaxy S3 was getting a little shopworn though, so it was time to make a move. So if you think there's a few too many superlatives here, take this review from the perspective of someone making a major upgrade. I was totally unprepared for how quickly technology has advanced in a few short years. Of course, the first thing you notice is the screen - During startup, I could immediately see from the dancing Google dots that this was one bright & sharp screen. I then opened the camera and started panning around - I see the reaction time, and realize that my old phone was working on time delay, the Pixel put me in real time. The next thing I noticed was the depth of field - objects both near & far were all clearly in focus - i might have a little less need to tap the focus box to tell the camera what the focus point was going to be. Then i took a few shots - and snap! - the camera reacts immediately - it was like i just upgraded to a 35mm smartphone - no time to lose the perfect smile or a passing moment. I took shots both outdoors & indoors. In my backyard, I could zoom in and see blades of grass defined next to my Golden Retrievers. Inside, the response to low light situations was superb. The overall feel of the aluminum/glass body is smooth to the touch, and seems like really excellent build quality. The quality even carries through to the supplied charge cables - they're about twice as thick & feel sturdy as compared to Apple's. I'm really tired of buying expensive cables for my daughter's iphones - I don't know if she's chewing them or what, but I seem to buy a cable every month! Reaction time to scrolling, app startup, etc. is like lightning. I also appreciated the lack of bloatware clogging up the app center - nice and clean. While it's not wireless, one thing i appreciate is the fast charge - isn't it annoying waking up in the morning late for work, and realizing you forgot to charge the phone. With the Pixel, you can plug it in & have a 50-75% charge by the time you make & drink your cup of coffee. As i previously stated, I'm not one that changes phones on every product launch - matter of fact, I've lived on hand-me-downs from my wife & daughter for quite a few years now. So this is the first time I've ever been the one to have the "newest" product. My daughter, a staunch Iphoner, and who is not usually impressed with much, especially things Android - well, after handing the phone to her, it didn't get the cursory glance and "that's nice" - rather, the phone disappeared for quite some time while she checked it out. So the good news is I now have the best & latest phone in the family - the bad news - now i might have to buy 2 more!

For the past few months, I have been patiently waiting for the latest smartphones to hit the market so I could make a firm decision on which one to get. There were of course the expected contenders, most notably the iPhone 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Apple's latest phone turned out to be yet another incremental upgrade, if you can call it that, since while the iPhone 7 had some nifty upgrades under it's belt, it's big disappointment was the removal of the 3.5mm audio jack. Samsung's Note 7 was supposed to be one of the greatest smartphones the Korean giant has ever produced, until it's unfortunate round of exploding batteries forced Samsung to pull the beloved "father of the phablet" out of the market for good. I really wish the Note 7 was still around. Given the circumstances I had to face from Apple not making significant upgrades to the iPhone and not being able to purchase a Note 7 due to the whole dilemma, I was able to gasp a breath of fresh air when Google first announced a special event that took place earlier this month, with a hint that they were unveiling a new phone. To me, this was surprising at first, because Google usually announces their latest Nexus line of devices during their I/O keynote in the summer, to which then I soon figured that the search giant was about to take a new, bold direction into the role they've played in the development of Android as it nears it's first decade in existence. For the first time, Google (with the help of HTC) is building a product from the ground up, with both the hardware and software being unified in the process... the same way Apple has done it from the start. In case you weren't aware, every Nexus device ever produced was a result of a partnership with a major smartphone manufacturer (Samsung, HTC, LG, etc.). Along comes the Pixel. It is the front-line main vocalist of Google's new line of "Made by Google" products. It is the result of Google's vision of defining what an Android device was supposed to become, and could become in the future. And it is absolutely stunning. It is also quite comfortable to hold in your hand as you use it. Glass and aluminum marry to form a piece of hardware never before seen in the Android ecosystem. The beautiful 1080p AMOLED display has a wide array of colors and also performs well in outdoor use. The fingerprint sensor is incredibly responsive, and the ability to swipe your finger to reveal your notifications comes handy during normal use. I like how I'm able to pick the Pixel up from my pocket and have the screen unlocked and ready to go since my finger naturally lies on the sensor as you grab it. Overall, the design of the Pixel isn't necessarily groundbreaking (for one, it's not water-resistant...), but it still impresses even the pickiest of smartphone buyers. I do wish the device had front-facing stereo speakers like those seen on Sony's Xperia lineup. The era of a mono speaker on the bottom of the phone needs to end, immediately. Lack of microSD card support is also quite unfortunate... have they not learned from Samsung? Pixel sports a 12.5 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera, which Google touts as having the "best camera ever on a smartphone." And you know, they may be onto something when they make such claim, because the Pixel shoots FANTASTIC photos. It is also the fastest camera phone I have ever used. Within just two seconds I was able to fire up the camera and take a detailed HDR+ shot. Depth of field is excellent as well as dynamic range performance. Unfortunately, you will have to use the stock camera app to get the most out of the Pixel camera. If you think your Snapchat story is about to get a makeover, it's not, and you can blame the way Android apps are written for that, not necessarily the phone hardware itself. Speaking of Android (obviously), the Pixel sports the latest version, 7.1 "Nougat" and as expected, is pure Android without any bloatware in sight. Even though this is a Verizon model, it does not come pre-loaded with Verizon "bloatware" and is SIM-unlocked out of the box. I really do think the software is what makes this phone shine, and is a key pillar into the experience Google wants their customers to expect out of owning a Pixel. The biggest feature is the introduction of Google Assistant, which is a more conversational-like version of Google Now that lets you perform a wide variety of tasks. In my personal use, however, I didn't find it as amazing as Google touts it to be. Assistant would frequently not respond with the information I needed for a specific request. You will also probably get bored of the jokes and the trivia questions after awhile. Aside from Google Assistant, Nougat is by far the best version of Android yet, and being able to experience it's true form with the Pixel is something to be appreciative about. I did run into a handful of app incompatibilities however, but I'm sure app developers are swiftly working on updating their apps to support Nougat properly. Overall, the Pixel is probably the best Android smartphone you can currently purchase as of this moment. Don't get me wrong, there are of course other newcomers making the rounds, like the LG V20 and the Asus Zenfone 3, but what matters most is the experience. And I don't feel that a third party manufacturer would be able to give you the experience Google is envisioning. This is why they have ultimately decided to take a strong leap forward by introducing their first ever, 100% Google-made smartphone. By being able to control all aspects of both the hardware and software of the Pixel, like Apple has always done with the iPhone, the possibilities are endless. For your first try, you nailed it quite well Google. This is only the beginning of a new era, and I can't wait to see the Pixel era of products mature to define the future of Android. I really do mean that. Bravo.
