Customers frequently mention the excellent camera quality and long battery life as major pros of the Pixel 4G LTE phone. The ease of use and screen size also receive positive feedback. However, some users express concerns about the limited storage capacity and lack of water resistance and wireless charging capabilities. A few also comment on the fingerprint reader placement.

I have owned ipone, Windows and galaxy phones. The pixel phone is by far my favorite. It is snappy fast, has great battery live and charges quickly. I also appreciate the foresight of using a USB type c charging port. It would have been nice to have a micro SD card slot but Google makes up for it to some extent by allowing unlimited backup of photos.

I have tried several Android phones so far, but this is the best one I pick in the premium tier phones.
It has the stock Android without bloatwares. It is fast and great to hold on.
Graphics / camera / AI assistance are just great.
The best part is the SW is maintained by Google and is guaranteed to have the latest Android release / fixes.

Amazing phone. Coming even from the S7 Edge, the pixel is amazingly fast at doing every day tasks such as launching apps and web browsing. Camera is great too but I find it has a hard time auto focusing. Usually a little tap on the object you want to focus on fixes but otherwise great all around phone. You won't be disappointed.

Going from a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and not jumping the band wagon for the Note 7 was a great thing. This phone is quick and snappy. It has not let me down not one bit. Multi tasking is amazingly speedy. The camera is awesome during the day it needs alil adjustments during the night time photos. I rate this phone a 9.6 out of 10.

I think it's important when reading a review to know what type of phone the reviewer previously used and how they used it. I think whatever phone we have often dictates what we think about our experiences of the next phone. My last phone was the LG V10. I got it in large part because I never had a LG phone and they offered a nice deal with 200 GB memory card and spare battery and charging case. It was a decent phone, nice quality, but I found the battery life pitiful, the fingerprint scanner erratic, and I had major issues with bluetooth (lot of popping sounds when connected to my car and headphones). But it took great pictures and video. What I liked was having 64 GB internal storage and 200 GB SD card. While I utilized Google Photos, I still liked having a hard copy on my phone that I could pull up at any moment (service or not). I also subscribe to Google Music (as you can tell, I'm invested in Google ecosystem) and I liked storing as much music as I could (around 60 GB) in the event I didn't have service when I played music. With that much storage, I never once thought about space on my phone.
Look and Feel
This is a premium phone. I like the smaller size (I've had phablets for a while, and actually like the downsize) and the build quality. It does look jsut like an iPhone, in fact a friend asked me if I got an iPhone. While I'm no fanboy and don't give one iota about the similiarities of Android phones and iPhones and who might have recycled what design or feature, it is something to point out. The back of the phone has a glass portion where the antennaes are and I actually like it once I saw it in person. It also offers some grip as backwards as that may sound. The fingerprint scanner is awesome and works like a charm. I like the feature where you can swipe down on the reader to bring down your notifications. BUT, be weary, I had to adjust how I held the phone because I would accidentally hit it. I like how the power button is texturized, which helps you distinguish between the power button and the volume rocker. I do with those buttons were higher up on the phone, because my thumb naturally rests above those buttons. But given how little you use them when actually using your phone, this wasn't a big deal.
You might have heard about the wedge shape when looking at the profile of this phone. Yes it has one, but it isn't as pronounced as people may suggest or the pictures you see on websites. You really can't tell.
Performance
This is a lightning fast phone. Everything from using Google Assistant to switching between apps, it is silky smooth. I've had no slowdown, no crashes (yet) and I find the battery to be adequate. I mentioned my LG V10 had abysmal battery life that required to carry a spare battery; the Pixel makes it through the day easily, when using the phone moderately (streaming music, navigation to work, Netflix and reading news sites). So I feel confident that I can leave the house for an extending time without wondering if I charged my spare battery.
I don't often listen to a phone's speakers, but I noticed this phone has stereo speakers and they sound decent for what they are. I've had ZERO issues with bluetooth, either connecting or having the pooping noises associated with my V10.
The charging is super fast, like you'd expect.
Software
I can't compare previous stock Android experiences to this one. But I am very familiar with the Google Launcher and Android Nougat is similar to that layout. But it's an adjustment (this holds true for any phone with Nougat operating system). The notification bar is different and while it looks aesthetically pleasing, I find it hard to locate the settings (go from ringer to vibrate as an example) I am used to pulling up quickly. I still don't know how to put my phone on vibrate other than using the volume rocker to turn the volume down all the way. I'm sure there's a setting somewhere, but this is one of the downsides to moving to a new operating system.
I have tried usign the artificial intelligence, Google Assistant, but I can't really figure out the difference between it and Google Now. It's nice to hold down the home button and start talking, but the features in my opinion aren't any different than what's been accessible since the creation of Google Now. I have no doubt that the engineers at Google would prove me wrong, and I'm certain there are good uses for it, they just aren't obvious. I'm willing to bet with more time I will discover it's usefulness.
I do like the long press on an icon that brings up shortcuts. It's similar to the 3D touch in iPhones. It's a quick way to jump into what you're trying to do.
The notification bar is revamped, and I often find it overwhelming. I appreciate being able to type in a text right through the notification bar, or double-tap an email to go straight to it, but it reminds me of my work email inbox and can be overwhelming at times.
Cameras
When it comes to picture quality, my two criteria are 1) how fast can you unlock your phone before taking pictures; and 2) how do the pictures look? This phone excels in both areas. I won't go into details about the camera specifications, you can look at the specs on Best Buy, but I found that it just works. It's fast, fluid, intuitive, easy to use and the pictures are great. My V10 took great pictures, but it took seconds to open up the camera from the lock screen, and the manual controls (while I appreciated having them) were just superflous to me. I'm not a professional photographer and didn't have the time or effort to change any settings when I just wanted to take a good picture.
Limitations
While I think this is an overall great phone, it has some drawbacks. Storage is number one. This has 32 GBs, and while it's nice to have unlimited Google Photos back up storage, I would rather have ample space for my photos and data on my phone, with a backup of the photos in Google Photos, versus keeping the photos in the cloud. While it's true that one rarely needs to have all their pictures on their phone it gives me comfort. And going from having some 260 GB of storage to 32 GB is somewhat difficult. I might be anticipating a problem I won't have, but it's something to point out. If you can afford it, I'd go with the 128 GB model. No wireless charging. Some people may say this is unnecessary, but I like having a wireless pad that you just place your phone on (I had a Qi sticker on the inside of my LG V10). I like having one on my desk at work and nightstand at home. Looks like an iPhone. I like having phones that are different (hence the V10 and its second screen which I love and do miss). This phone, while nice looking, just looks like another candy bar style phone. It doesn't stick out. USB 3.0 C-type isn't a negative in and of itself, but it is an adjustment. I now have two USB 3.0 C-type cables, both of which came in the box, which renders the 20 or so micro USB cables i've collected over the years as useless. So I don't want to say it's a negative when getting the phone because technology progresses and change is good, it's just something you need to keep in mind. I now have to think about whether or not I have a charging cable in my work bag (where I used to keep micro USB cables).
Conclusion
All in all this is a great phone. It takes some getting used to, particularly the software and relearning to a certain degree how you changed settings or accessed information. It's really fast and fluid with virtually no performance issues. Google included two C-type charging cables in the box which was nice, and a nice adapter to transfer data between your old phone and new one. Not necessary since most of my data syncs through Exchange or Google, but I like the thought. My only big concern is the space. If I did it all over again, I'd get the 128 GB version.
Lastly, this phone is not locked. Verizon sells it unlocked with a sim card inside of it. If you find yourself with this phone and someone tells you its for Verizon, you can pop any major carrier sim card in there and it will work.

While I overall love my Google Pixel compared to the iPhone 6 I had before, I somewhat regret not going with the Galaxy instead since there were better deals with that phone at the time. Here are my likes vs dislikes about the Pixel:
Likes:
-Great sharp camera
-Unlimited photo storage space on Google
-Fingerprint reader (some say it's an awkward spot but I think it's convenient and you get used to it after a few times)
-It's Android, very customizable
Dislikes:
-Camera does not have image stabilization. If you or your subject is moving, expect blurriness. The iPhone 6 was a lot better than the Pixel with this.
-No notification counts on the apps like iPhone has. This is easily fixable when you install the free Nova Launcher app with Tesla Unread app.
-Hard to find a phone case in stores, have to order online for a good one. Accessories sold in stores are also limited.
-Small storage space with no option to upgrade
-Volume can't get as loud as I would want
-Unable to silence the ringer (when receiving a call or text) by just pressing a quick button like I could on iPhone (unsure if there is a work around for this since I haven't looked into it much yet)
-Auto brightness changes randomly sometimes and makes the screen hard to see
-Volume buttons are on the same side as the power button. There have been multiple times when I've hit the wrong button.

Its been after a month's of usage I write this. Top of all the battery life with a heavy usage is phenomenal. Next comes the best camera. I have used S6, 6P and nexus 5 before that. Its the best camera that I have used. One thing that a little disappointing was the Nougat and nothing to do with Pixel. Not much of an upgrade in features from Marshmellow. All in all a wonderful phone.

When I buy an iPhone, I'm always happy with the performance for at least two years. With Android phones, before a year it gets sluggish, battery depletes, and parts fall apart.
However I pixels battery and performance is as top notch as the iPhone. I feel it'll keep me happy for the next two years

I recently purchased the Google Pixel 32 GB. The sound is loud and clear when talking to people or using it for music. The processor on the phone is very fast and great for surfing the web. It also has a good camera which was the most important part of the phone when I was making my decision.

Really like camera quality and finger print scanner. My finger can go easily into the slot on the back. Does not have you slide finger as the Samsung does. Very quick and safe.
On trip I used phone camera more that my Canon because it has such great pics in all lighting and very convenient.

The best Android device out there

This thing is amazing! My short summary is that this is the best Android phone I have ever owned. My last phone was a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and I currently have a iPhone 7. I received the Pixel 5” 32gb and was immediately blown away. It is as close to a perfect Android device you can get right now. Lets start the review.
First, build quality. As some of the professional reviews have stated, this is like Google’s version of the iPhone. It is some seriously top notch hardware and feels extremely premium in the hand. The fingerprint reader is in the back in the glassy top portion. It is actually a pleasure to hold with the metal lower half and glass upper half on the back side. The front has a high quality Gorilla Glass 4 (I believe) screen. The buttons on the right side have the power toward the top (two clicks of it launch the camera) and the volume buttons towards the middle. This feels a little different from other phones but it is actually very good feeling if you are left handed.
This is a Verizon device (it can be purchased unlocked from Google) but I tried it out with my T-Mobile service as well. It was fully unlocked and got a great LTE connection with T-Mobile so no worries there. Just remember, the device should be paid off if you plan on switching services. There was ZERO Verizon branding on this phone and ZERO bloatware apps that I could find so that is a huge plus.
It is advertised as having the best camera money can buy on a phone but I could not see any difference from my iPhone 7, cameras are just too good these days. It does not appear to have optical image stabilization (which my iPhone 7 and most flagship Android phones have). This might be a big deal to some people but I have to admit it made no impact on my photos even in low light. It is a bit more apparent when taking videos though. The unlimited full quality storage space Google is offering is an amazing deal and makes it not much of an issue to have the limited space of the 32gb version. I just set it to clean up my device and upload photos when they take up a certain amount of space. The bright and beautiful screen do your photos justice as well
This thing is amazingly fast, I have never seen a faster phone in everyday use (iPhone included). Everything you do is instantly responsive with smooth animations, something rare on Android devices. It has top end specs and after using, I truly believe in the advantages of having one company make hardware and software, it is the only way to get a perfect experience. Google and Apple are both doing the right thing with this concept. On top of this, battery life was amazing (my largest annoyance on Android) and it charges extremely fast. There is no wireless charging if this matters to you.
I have fallen in love with Google Assistant. It pretty much replaces Google Now. It can be triggered via text in the search button on the top or with the usual “OK GOOGLE” voice command. What I love about this feature is that you can actually talk to it as if it is a person. It seems to understand absolutely everything I say and it provides the best results that actually matter. Siri on my iPhone seems very limited in comparison. You can actually converse and it remembers the context of your previous questions and statements. It is if nothing else fun to play with, but it can be very useful if you want it to be.
Sound was a negative point here. It is nice that it has a regular headphone jack but the speakers felt subpar to me compared to my S7 Edge and my iPhone 7. The speakers just felt flat and underpowered, not to mention the lack of stereo sound iPhone 7 has a much better listening experience. The headphone jack did not seem very amazing to me compared to other devices with a high end DAC like the LG V20.
One huge negative to me was the lack of water resistance. All newer Galaxy phones, most Sony phones and the iPhone 7 are all waterproof. I have grown used to using my phone in the rain here in the Seattle area. With the Pixel, I have to be a bit more careful when I step outside. It is a minor annoyance but one that must be made known as it might be a huge deal to some.
In all, this might be my all time favorite phone, it feels unique, fast, high quality and is simply beautiful. There are a few minor gripes to keep it from being perfect but it is almost there. I am undecided if I will stick to this or my iPhone 7 as my daily driver, but I am strongly leaning toward the Pixel. Regardless, I believe any buyer of this device will be happy.

Pros:
- Amazing cameras (front and back)
- Quick access to the camera (double-press the power button)
- Quick, reliable fingerprint scanner
- Great looking screen (even if "only" 1080p resolution)
- Decent battery (gets me through the day with light-moderate use)
- Google Assistant
- Timely software updates straight from Google
Cons:
- No water resistance
- No wireless charging
- No expandable storage
- Only one speaker (it looks like there are two on the bottom, but only one is a speaker)
- Power button and volume rocker are on the same side (this one is personal preference)
I know other people have said this, and I apologize for repeating it, but I wish Google spent a little more time to come up with a different design for the phone. It looks too much like an iPhone from the front (the missing home button is the only giveaway it's not an iPhone) and the back looks as if Google realized halfway through the design that they were making an iPhone, so they added the fingerprint scanner and glass on the top half of the phone. Seriously, turn the phone over and cover the top half with your hand, then tell me it doesn't look "familiar".
I was able to get over the design quickly (the iPhone is a nice looking phone), and I'm glad I did. The phone feels great to hold, and unlike my old Samsung Galaxy S6, the Pixel doesn't feel as if it is going to slide out of my hand. I don't feel compelled to slap a case on it to prevent it from being accidentally dropped.
The fingerprint scanner is on the back, which took a little while to get used to. The scanner is very quick and accurate, I have yet to have the phone prompt me to try reading my fingerprint again. I don't have a preference as to having the fingerprint scanner on the back or the front of a phone (my previous phone was a Galaxy S6, so I'm used to the scanner on the front), but if you do have a preference it's worth thinking about if you're trying to decide if you want to buy this phone or not.
I have the smaller Pixel phone (not the XL), but even though the screen resolution is "only" 1080p, it looks amazing. Colors look great, the picture is sharp, and I wouldn't have guessed the resolution was 1080p had I not known. Watching videos, viewing pictures, or playing games looks fantastic on this screen.
Along with a great screen, I was surprised how well the speaker sounds on the Pixel. While the phone doesn't have front-firing speakers, it still sounds clear and loud. I was a little disappointed to see that it only has one speaker. If you look at the bottom of the phone, it looks as if there is a speaker on each side of the USB-C port, however only one is a speaker (the other is an imposter!).
I'm not a huge mobile gamer, but the games I do play look great and show no signs of lag or frame loss. As with just about any phone, it does start to heat up after a while when playing, but not warm enough to worry me about damaging the phone.
Call quality is great, but what impressed me is the signal strength. I'm seeing full bars of service on my Pixel in the same areas that my wife gets 2-3 bars on her Galaxy S7.
My biggest complaint about the Pixel is that Google is asking for flagship pricing while leaving out features found from other flagship phones: no water resistance, no wireless charging, and no expandable storage. I could have forgiven the lack of expandable storage if this was a new Nexus phone, since Nexus phones have never had that feature, but this isn't a Nexus. If you're trying to decide between the Pixel and Galaxy S7, it's hard to not want to go with the S7.
** REGARDING THE PIXEL OR PIXEL XL IF BUYING FROM VERIZON **
There was some confusion online regarding the Pixel and Pixel XL if you purchased them from Verizon and if the phones were locked or not. I wanted to help clear up the confusion: the phones are NOT locked to Verizon Wireless.
If you are a Verizon Wireless customer and buy the Pixel or Pixel XL today, you're not "tied" to Verizon with your Pixel phone. You can toss in an AT&T, T-Mobile, or Sprint SIM card without any issues. I was able to use an AT&T SIM card and it worked just fine.
Where is the confusion coming from?
The BOOTLOADER is locked if you buy the Pixel or Pixel XL from Verizon Wireless. All this means is that you can't flash a custom ROM to the phone. If you don't know what that is, or don't care, then don't worry.
Again, the Pixel and Pixel XL from Verizon Wireless are NOT SIM locked. If for whatever reason you don't want to continue being a Verizon Wireless customer later down the road, you're free to take your Pixel or Pixel XL with you.

I have been an iPhone user ever since I remember. So when I finally had enough of my current phone, a 2 years old water damaged iPhone 5c, I begun my research. Google pixel was my first choice only because of the unlimited photo storage and a camera that rivals one of the best in its generation of smartphone. Having the courage to buy a very expensive phone and leaving behind iPhones for an Android is one of the best decision I made this year. I can say, after having it for almost a month now, that my life would just not be the same without all the features of this SMARTphone. My only disappointment so far was that there is no built in time lapse with the camera.
"OK Google" rocks. It Let me find my phone in the morning, or where ever it is in the house. It shows me this awesome photo which in enhanced automatically I to something awesome. Google assistance is way way better compare to Siri.

Pro: native to Google (long-lasting upgrade to OS); good camera (on the darker side in low light compared to iphone); top-notch specs and performance. Even though sold by Verizon it is good for all 4 major carriers.
Con: long-chin and big bezzel (low screen-body ratio) makes it more like a size of 5.5" screen.
