This phone is phenomenal if you are upgrading from something at least a couple of years older. The 90hz display doesn't feel slower compared to a 120hz, and the color range is quite good, though a little behind a Samsung display. The haptics are also something to write home about. They are snappy, with a super satisfying feel and sound to it. The face unlock is also super responsive, only taking less than a second to unlock the phone, with very few failures because of poor lighting. The camera system is also so good at this price range. The post-processing is great, and the colors are accurate to real life. I only wish this size of phone had the Pro's 3x camera. The only issues I experienced with this phone are with reception and the fingerprint sensor. The base Pixel 7 does not have UWB (Ultra Wideband), so reception and call quality will be lower than you would like if you're coming from a phone with UWB support. I wish I had known this before buying, but I'm fine with it so far. As for the fingerprint sensor, it is very very good... If you don't have a screen protector. Without one, it is snappy and will usually only require a quick tap. It isn't the fastest out there and you may have to hold for a fraction of a second longer, but it is otherwise very fast. But as soon as you put a nice, expensive glass protector on top, it is incapable of reading your fingerprints. Even after retaking your fingerprints with the protector on, it will fail 90% of the time. So far most people who will go without a screen protector, you will be fine. Overall, this will do all you need and more. If you really need better cell service, I would say to go for the 7 Pro or another phone with UWB. Other than that, this price was so hard to beat at $500 for the 256GB model!

Great upgrade from my Pixel 5. Fingerprint sensor still needs work but there is supposedly a fix coming, works fast when it does. No reception issues, just as good as my Pixel 5 and much better than my son's Pixel 6. Battery life great as well. And of course pictures are second to none as long as you don't need the zoom that the pro has.

Love: Size of the pro is better than expected; doesnt feel as large as it is. Curved edges not too pronounced either. Magic eraser works as advertised. The 5x "snap zoom" is remarkable for video (although there is a fraction of a second delay before it kicks in). The 10x zoom for photos is incredible too (wish there was a "quick tap" for it, but manual zoom isnt too bothersome).

It is good for the price. Googles application of Android is a bit different so it takes a little getting used to. The display and photo editing is very nice. Not every app will run on it that ran on my old Samsung. Why I don't know. Over all for a budget phone would recommend

The camera is great. Not completely wowed though with the phone. Coming from a smart phone that was 5 years old (Galaxy S8), I was expecting huge improvements in functionally and it's just not there. Pixel 7 is fine. The price was good (1/2 The Price of s23). It's a smart phone that works well for what it is.

I can see why this phone is much cheaper compared to Apple or Samsung products. I bought in Mar 2023 and writing this review in July. I'll be switching soon because I can't stand this phone anymore. I'm not a pro user that's why I bought a cheaper phone - I just use it to take photos of my dogs, scroll through social media, play COD mobile occasionally, use google maps, watch YT videos, and text/calls. Battery doesn't last all day - maybe 3-4 hours of watching videos combined with regular text/calls. One time, I was playing music while using Google Maps to go somewhere and the phone completely died on me and wouldn't turn on for a good 10 mins. I had to pull over because I lost my GPS and couldn't contact anybody. I just tried turning it on over and over until it finally did. It's also noticeably slower - but that is a given since I switched from iPhone 13 pro max/Samsung galaxy z flip 3. Camera is stupid. They need to fix their auto post-processing because it changes the colors and sharpness of the photos - not in a good way. I don't know anything about editing photos and I hate how my photos look with this phone! It changes eye colors and other subtle details in ALL photos. You cannot turn this feature off so all photos you take is edited by the system. You have the option to capture raw photos instead but that takes so much space. Gallery is confusing. You will be using Google Photos as your gallery which charges you monthly to backup your photos. Even though I have 256GB storage on my phone, it's useless because they will not let me back up more than 15GB without a monthly storage plan. Might as well not have 256GB then because if this phone gets lost or dies, only the backed up photos can be recovered. Sometimes the gallery also hides my photos in weird paths - I can't upload certain photos to certain apps because it just won't show the photo on the upload options even though I see it in my gallery. Overall, I do not recommend. I wish I had just bought an Apple/Samsung that's closer to the price point. It's just not on par and you can tell every time you use it.

Been using the phone for a couple of weeks now. Seamless upgrade experience from the Pixel 6. I've notice the night sight feature is much better/actually useable for taking photos. Slightly smaller screen size isn't noticeable to the eye, but it actually does feel a little better in the hand...I assume it's always a touch lighter than the 6 as well. Battery life has been good so far for me, I'm not constantly using the phone and I can go about 36 hrs before thinking I really need to plug in. Great upgrade for the price considering trade-in and promo gift card, both of which were a very easy process with BB.
