Good ear buds. Sounds great good battery and great quality.
Hi there, AnthonyF. While we're glad you're enjoying the sound quality from the Pixel Buds 2a, we hear your concerns with them not fitting the best — here’s some tips to make them fit better:
1. Try different sized ear tips to find the best fit: Ears are unique so your left ear may be different from your right ear. 2. Try memory foam eartips: If you’re not getting a perfect fit with our silicone eartips, memory foam eartips might be worth a try.

I am all-in on the Google Pixel ecosystem so when it was time to upgrade from my original Pixel buds I looked to their latest iteration for a solution. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 drew my attention but then I noticed the Buds 2a. Google's "a" series devices offers a budget friendly alternative to the traditional Pro products so I took the plunge!
The 2a buds have been a capable alternative to the premium offering. They are very compact and lightweight. The design fits entirely within my ears - no protruding stalks. The old "wings" have been replaced by a modified twist-to-fit design that I find to be effective and comfortable. Google provides 3 additional tips if the default ones don't work for you.
The carrying/charging case is slightly smaller than the original offering and slips into my front pockets comfortably. The case has one totally unique feature in that it sports a replaceable battery! The smaller case means slightly less recharging capacity but it is till more than adequate for me. Charging time is quick and a few minutes top-off will give you about an hour of listening time. Be aware that the case does NOT support wireless charging - USB-C only.
Unpacking was uneventful. The packaging materials are made from recycled materials. Provided documentation is laughably minimal but the app is comprehensive and easy to use. If you are pairing to a Pixel phone there is literally no setup to do! My phone detected the new buds as soon as I opened the case and I was up and listening within minutes. The app will push any firmware updates to the buds which subsequently update the case the first time you put the buds back into the case! Very smooth but it was a bit of a slow process the first time!
The sound quality of the 2a's is quite good. I chose an equalizer preset from the options provided (you can create your own from the 5 band EQ) and have used them for podcasts, YT videos, music and a bit of calling. I found the volume and clarity to be just fine. The units now support ANC which was initially limited to the Pro versions. There is also a "transparency" mode which you can summon with a tap that disables ANC so you can have a conversation or just hear your environment better. Tapping the bud again will restore ANC. I found the noise cancelling to be very effective in a coffee shop, restaurant, or even out walking. It may not be a direct rival to it's considerably more expensive competition but is more than adequate.
The tap control features are a bit spartan and not quite as sensitive as my earlier buds but they do work. Unfortunately, Google has elected to drop the swipe volume control feature! I miss that very much. I don't want to have to reach for my phone's controls for this and I didn't realize how often I use that function!
Overall the Pixel Buds 2a is a very good entry into this product price category. Ruggedly built, comfortable, sporting good battery life and offering a comprehensive app and very good sound quality.

The Google Pixel Buds 2a gives you all of the key functionality and just a few less perks at a cost that is nearly half that of the "pro" version. I applaud Google for creating a great product at this price point.
One of the most important aspects of ear buds is the fit, and the Pixel 2a buds delivers. I have rather large ear canals and my wife has VERY small ear canals and she can never find buds that fit well. The Pixel Buds 2a come with four different tip sizes (XS, S, M, L). More importantly, the shape of the earbuds allow them to be more securely fitted to the ear. There is a little tab that twists into the ear and it is this, with the XS tips, that has allowed my wife to finally find ear buds that fit and are comfortable to her.
The buds are also quite small which I like, slightly smaller than the Pro version. Likewise the pill case is also a little smaller and fits in a pocket more easily.
Battery life is acceptable if not the best in class. I'm guessing they would last around 5-6 hours with noise cancellation active.
Speaking of noise cancellation, it is quite good. When setting up the buds for the first time it runs through a calibration to make sure you are getting the best fit and will make suggestions if the ambient noise is too high, such as a larger tip or to make sure the buds are seated properly in the ear.
Works with Google Gemini for hands free operation.

I've used a variety of Bluetooth earbuds over recent years (including the Google Pixel Buds A series just prior to these). These new 2a buds are a definite upgrade. The fit in the ear is much more comfortable compared to older A buds (I just used the tips that came pre-attached, but there are additional sizes in the package if you need a better fit).
Connectivity and use with my Android phone, iPhone, MacBook, and Windows work laptop is flawless and the mic must be great too since people on the other end said I was crystal clear (yes, I asked). I primarily use these for Teams calls/meetings and with the smaller size, I get less ear fatigue after 60-90 min calls.
Battery life is pretty good and the case re-charges the buds quickly. Listening to music is also excellent though with choice of transparency and noise cancelling modes. Very pleased and great value!

The product is not as expected and sometimes it acts weird. One of the buds completely goes off and I need to re seat in the box ,take it out then it works good.Definitely not worth of 100$.

Hi there. We’re sorry you've had sound issues on the Pixel Buds 2a — we get this can be frustrating. Normally, a quick reset can resolve these problems — here’s how:
1. Go to your device’s Bluetooth settings and forget the device. 2. Plug the charging case into a power source using a USB-C cable. 3. Make sure the earbuds are seated within the charging case and leave the charging case open. 4. Press and hold the pairing button on the back of the case for 30 seconds. 5. When the earbuds status light stops bouncing, let go of the pairing button. 6. Check the earbuds status lights.
