OK sound, decent fit, bad case
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, these are a decent wireless ear bud. The sound quality is pretty good, and the touch button on the side of the bud works pretty well. It took several tries to first set it up on my Pixel 2, which was annoying. Since then though it's been fine pairing. My biggest complaint is with the case. It's kind of a cool, fabric-y type case but also feels a little cheap. The worst thing about it is that it doesn't seem to be quite the right size for the buds. You put the buds in their places, then wrap the nylon cord around the case and tuck it in in the middle. However, the cord has to be taut around the case in order for it to close, and in order for it to be taut, there's about 2 cm of extra cord that then makes it challenging to close the case without loosening the cord around the sides, which then makes the case not close properly. It's a bad design, when it only would have taken the case being like 0.25cm wider/longer for it to fit perfectly. It also makes putting the headphones away a two handed job, where you have to kind of hold the cord taut with one hand and close it with the other. This is annoying when I'm walking to work with a cup of coffee and trying to put my buds away before I get in the office. Overall I like them though. The battery life is pretty good and the case does recharge them several times over. I probably only charge my buds about once per week and I use them for about 2 hours per day.

Best wireless headphones except....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is really what was expected. Best headphones in general but in particular for Pixel phones. Those extras are really worth the price. Initially, I was skeptical about it given the price tag. $150+ is too much for bluetooth headphones but Google assistant make it really worth. I literally don't have to touch my phone most of the times. It reads notifications, texts, emails and let you respond simply playing with headset. That EXCEPT is for the design. Though, I am not impressed with the cord restricting me freely using buds the way I want. The real deal is the speaker sits in to your ear. It is kind of awkward that it does not comfortably sits in ear on its own. You have to place it gently to your comfort level and if it does not, it is quite hurting the outside opening of ear. So its a bit of extra hassle that you need to be attentive to put them on rather than just putting them in ears.

Fantastic pair of earbuds for on-the-go
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm one of those people who cannot use in-ear-buds, because the silicone tips, even at the smallest setting, are not comfortable over long periods of time. As a result, I've been on the hunt for a nice pair of earbuds, and the Pixel Buds are near perfect. To start, make sure it is charged up properly before you start trying to pair them up. Leaving the buds to charge, and being sure to remove the plastic that blocks the charging pins ON THE BUDS is really important; trying to pair them without that will be a frustrating experience. Once paired, they're really fantastic. I love the charging case, and the buds aren't hard to put back, once you know how. They're actually low-profile enough, in my ears, to sleep with, even on my side, and since they have a cable between them, I don't have to worry about one falling out, and me losing it, and I love just being able to leave one of the buds hanging when I need to listen to someone else talk. The sound is really good for a pair of buds such as these. They're not the highest-fidelity pair, but the soundstage was surprisingly wide, and it's imaging ability was okay. Perfectly good for a very portable pair of earbuds. What really took these from "just a pair of earbuds with Google's branding" to "an amazing pair of earbuds with Google's branding" is the Google Assistant functionality. Forget the live-translation with Google Translate, that's cool and all, but really, the ability to summon the assistant without a hitch, is awesome. Google Assistant even reads out your notifications, and warns you when you have new ones, as opposed to running through your entire list of them. Every command I threw at it worked well, and I almost never had to repeat myself after the initial command. All the interaction is with the right bud's touchpad, and the gestures are natural and simple. I haven't had any mistaps, or any misinterpretations of my actions, once I learned them all. On the negative side, the loop for the buds that helps keep them in your ears will need resetting often, as there's no way to secure them in place. At the moment, there's no way to track skip with a gesture, and this must be done by asking the Google Assistant to play the next song - a definite oversight in my eyes, and the fit isn't going to be perfect the first time - you'll definitely want to play around with it. Overall, I really love these. They're excessively perfect for me, and I don't want to go back to regular earbuds for on-the-go again.

Great sound, lousy design and controls
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited when I bought these. I wanted to use them with my google translate and heard good things about them. Boy did it not live up to its hype. The sound quality is good but that's about it. The ear bud design is weird and does not fit my ears. No matter how I adjust it it will always fall out. So forget about any activities (gym, running, etc...). It also has controls on the left ear bud. This is great in theory but every time the dam thing falls out of my ear or even needs a minor readjustment, I end up hanging up on the person I am talking with or turning off my music or launching google voice. Great in theory but leaves much to be desired. This is a rare fail for Google. You are better off spending your money on a different set of headphones.

Love Them
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these things! I will say that are not for everybody though. They do not offer ANY noise cancellation, so do plan on using them in overly loud places. Not killer for me, I use them when running and commuting to and from work. They fit great, no more pain or discomfort from the rubber plugs. I honestly forget they are in sometimes they are so light and easy on the ears. Yes they are not completely true wireless buds. I like the tether though. I can pop one out and let it hand around my neck or even both. I do not have to hold one or worry about misplacing them. The case is great, so easy to take these out and put them back in. Any one who does complain really needs to reassess their life choices. The case does show charge level of the case also charge level of the buds. The touch controls work flawlessly on the right bud. Sound is good across the range, not studio quality by any means but more than sufficient for an average joe such as myself. My ONLY complaint is the inability to skip songs, not huge deal killer though as I listen to more podcasts than music. I was optimistic on there after seeing all the sub par and mediocre reviews, after buying them i couldn't be happier. These wont be for everybody but if your looking for a decent pair of buds ad do not like the rubber plugs there are great.

Good sound but not great headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the Pixel 3 was looking to use these along side. They sound good and the asistan features are great but I do not find the comfortable enough to leave in hours on end unlike the Bose ones that I still use primarily. theses ended up being my backup set also they do not allow pairing of multiple devices simultaneously i know that this is not an extremely common use case but for me it is almost a must have since I carry 2 phones 90% of the time and use headsets 80% of the time while at work.

Pixel Purrrfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a Google Pixel 2 XL and these are the perfect compliment to my phone and workouts. They work seamlessly with the phone. The sound and the bass part is great...It can be as loud as I like. The box they go is isn't an issue at all. In fact it is simple. It is a nice way to charge and keep them from being lost or smashed. The fitting in the ear is not a hassle either. The controls do take a little time to get use to but if you are able to read and "mess" with them, I am sure you will figure it out. I am not sure who would NOT like them but I was very pleased with the purchase. I would recommend!

Best earbuds I have
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really high quality, battery is good and sound quality not bad at all. The real bad thing about it that it works only with Google assistant, so by travling abroad you basically don't have the option to play music (only by using your phone) this only happens when you have a subscription like Google play music that isn't available in most countries...

Great product, probably not for audiophiles
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're like me and run a business, you're always on the phone, so bluetooth with a good mic is a must. These have quickly become my favorite earbuds (I have used apple, bose, sony and others) because of Google's integration. I have a Pixel 2 phone and it's a perfect extension of the phone. The sound is great, but I'm not picky...as long as calls are clear and the sounds come through, I'm good. I've used these with a Samsung 8 phone and it works just fine as well...no pairing problems. I've also not had problems with charging or the case. I LOVE that these have a simple cord connecting the two and they fit nicely into my ears. Lastly, I'm very glad that these don't block out the environment, they don't need to, the sound is loud enough, even on airplanes and in airports. If you have a pixel phone, this is a must.

Solid wireless buds
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are great headphones for beginners, the sound quality is great. They can be a little tricky to figure out the right position to put them in your ear. But I got the hang of it pretty quick. They also just look really slick while wearing them.

The buds to rule them all... #false
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's start this off right: I wanted to love these. I never wanted to see them leave my ear canals...but alas they have left, and my weapon of choice are still my soundsport wired bose earphones (yes, I said wired) . Issues: -Connection issues !!!! (I have to re-sync them whenever a new device connects to my phone), this is huge considering my subaru autopairs when I hop in it, and I go from device to device on a daily basis (I switched from an iPhone to the Pixel 2) -Will get uncomfortable after a period of time -The case is sweet, but the sync button and partnering devices is a pain (so basically a repeat of my first complaint) -Limited functionality... I mean, I can't even skip a song without asking the google assistant and then having it sometimes work (Better control mapping would be super helpful on this one) Good stuff: -Double tap for google notifications -Google will read an email or text if you double tap when one comes in -Nice design, i love the case and its ability to charge the pods -Technically not "wireless" like the apple ones, but the cord connecting the two is nice and adjustable This is tough, i love these and hate them at the same time... I would not recommend them in their current state, give them a few firmware changes and I think we have a bargain (especially for the price, we shouldn't be having these issues, especially connection issues).

Google has room to improve
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These earbuds are not exactly comfortable and I have normal sized ears. They would fall out while I was jogging and began to hurt after 3 hours of wear while I worked on projects. I'd suggest Google look at Bose and how they design their earbuds and take some pointers if you want to have this as a number one seller. I'd wait for Google to get this right and not recommend these for those that are active or whose field is data entry for 4 hours.

Not good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For this price, you would expect a pretty darn good product. These don't make the cut. Fit -- There's a small loop in the cord that's supposed to help hold the buds in your ear. This works until you remove them and any tension on the cord makes the loop too small. Basically, you have to adjust the cord loop almost every time you put them on. Sound -- Seems pretty good. Not anywhere near the best earbud sound, but acceptable. Controls -- Pretty bad. I like to listen to podcasts and books. It's easy to pause and play with a simple tap on the right bud. Too easy, it turns out. If you hit pause and remove the buds, you will inevitably, unknowingly start playing again while the bud is out. Any slight touch of the right bud from the act or removing it or just from having it hang around your neck will cause you to lose your place in the recording. This is very frustrating and is the main reason I'm giving these up. For this price, there are much better products out there.

Really wish they were truly wireless...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My only gripe with these earbuds is that they are not truly wireless. I like the integration with my Pixel 3, battery life is slightly above average and the sound quality is good in my opinion.

Great idea, bad execution.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like these headphones. I'm a huge fan of Google (Pixel phones, Google Home/Assistant, etc) so I went into this purchase with high hopes. Unfortunately I was disappointed by a cumbersome user experience thanks to a poor case design. Because these headphones are bound by a cable, they're nearly impossible to put into the case. Don't get me wrong, the case itself is nicely made. It's got a soft touch material on the outside that I'm a fan of, and it's not too large. But putting the headphones back into the case is a bad experience. You have to line them up to the magnetic pins, and then wind the cable around the case through a groove. Half the time they don't fit in there exactly right, and half the time the case won't close because the cable is so cumbersom. Especially for the price, I expected a much easier experience. Thankfully Google listened to this feedback and their second gen Pixel Buds are truly wireless. I'd definitely go with those over this first attempt.

Just ok, not worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to love these. Sound was decent, not great. Gesture controls were very cool. The assistant feature in the headphones is innovative. The cord that connects the two sides kept getting caught on my shirt. I didn't run with them but can't imagine they'd stay in. I got them on sale and they still weren't worth the price.

Great Google Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great headphones. The integration with Google Assistant works wonderfully. I was also pleasantly surprised with how well they sounded too. It does take a little of getting used to the ear hooks, controls, and the carrying case but after getting over that they are a great pair of headphones. I do use them for running as well with no issues. I would recommend this to anyone with an Android device and more specifically a Pixel device.

||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These aren't very loud, can't hear clearly on an airplane. Solid Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pixel Buds offered great sound quality and a customized fit. The setup takes a few seconds after charging the case with USB-C. Instant discovery of PB, the setup takes you through the pixel customize loop fit, didn't take long and figured the perfect fit that will not fall out even while running. The buds easily connect and are easy to use by activating Bluetooth. The bids are great for listening to podcasts, music, ect. Happy I purchased the Pixel Buds with my Pixel 2.

Really Impressed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was apprehensive about these pixel buds based off the other reviews I've read and videos I've watched. However I needed a pair of wireless earbuds and being I have a pixel device I decided to take a chance. I have not regretted my purchase. The sound quality is top-notch, battery life is really good, the look and feel good. Really happy with these.
