This product is at beta version!!!

This product is a beta version! It should cost about $50 max!!! No equivalent to airpods. I have used it only with Samsung S7 edge Build quality is good and the case is nice Audio quality is fair Battery life is very good The major issue with it: Connectivity issues ALL the time. I will give an example: You might connect the buds to your phone and immediately you will call someone and the buds will be disconnected for no reason. I give 2 stars only because Google had great customer support for this product. However, I would recommend these buds.

Static Bug - Still Not Fixed by Google

The sound on the Pixel Buds are great and I like having the Google Assistant built into the headset, there is one major issue I have with these earbuds though. If you use any non-default notification sound the Pixel Buds will not play that sound when you get a notification but it plays a really loud static noise. This has been an ongoing issue since the release of the Pixel Buds and has still not been resolved by Google. If you only use default notification sounds the Pixel Buds are great; if you use non-default notification sounds that you download to your phone yourself I cannot recommend these earbuds.

They sound great....when you can get them to work. Are they charging? It's basically a coin toss. You have no idea whether or not they are charging. Will they pair with your phone? Well, odds are on your side with this one. 3 out of 5 times repeatedly and frustratedly tapping the right ear but and wake them up. The other 2 times? Probalby wasn't charging...see above, or, you have to reset the charging case. But, like I said...for those times they actually decide to charge and/or connect...they do sound better than the other wireless headsets I have.

Not worth the purchase. Google has a ways to go...

There are a lot of really great features about these headphones. I'll let you read the other reviews to see that. But Google's design and marketing team really missed the mark on several important details. The first being that they won't sell replacement chargers. DO NOT consider dropping $160 if you or the someone you are buying this for is even remotely prone to misplacing things. The headphones are useless without the charger. I had one scare, found the case turned in at a coffee shop, but still looked to see if I could find a new or refurbished case. Doesn't exist. Second, the controls on the right ear are in theory really cool but in practice hardly user friendly. I am slowly getting used to directions from Google assistant *ever.single.time.* I put in or adjust or remove the right bud. The volume adjustment works infrequently enough for me to give up on it all together, and the button doesn't always connect your buds by double tapping. The button's functionality and user design are spotty... At best. Go ahead and get a nice pair of generic blue tooth head phones if you want to go wireless. You won't miss out on much with Google assistant. I promise. Google did a great job on the phone, but they are competing well with these buds. At all.

    Pretty Bad

I've owned these for about a year, and I've had so many issues with these: - The first pairing was not automatic, and required much fiddling with the buds and my phone (a Pixel 2!) - often will not disconnect from my phone when put away in their case which drains the Bud's batteries. Contacts are fine, but requires a hard reset - the volume control on the buds stop working sometimes - the pause control does not work sometimes - double-tap does not work sometimes - long-press doesn't work sometimes

The product is a decent first try for google. there is a lot of room for improvement. I am using the buds with S7 edge with android ver 8.0. there is a lot of delay between commands and execution. I have a $10 Bluetooth headset that is faster than the buds......Audio quality is very good for my standard. Also, google need a dedicated app to control the buds rather than have to open google app and access it from there. The price for this should have been $80 MAX! If I hadn't the coupon from best buy I would never buy them.

Good buds if you want to be a Beta user

The complaints: - Google Assistant hardly ever understands the command, "next song," and just keeps repeating instructions for using Google Assistant - Mic doesn't drown out ambient noise, so it's rather annoying for the recipient of your call - The charging case is cool in theory, but is absolute garbage for functionality -- the case allows the buds to be placed in it such that they look like they're in the case correctly and the LED is blinking to show you the Buds battery level (and thus should be placed correctly to charge) but joke is on you: somehow when you were wrapping the cord around, one of the buds slightly moved, so they aren't actually charging, which you won't find out until you go to use them and they're dead. cool. - They don't fit in snuggly to the human ear, so people around you hear what you hear, and you don't experience the full power of the Buds The benefits: - Work well with Google Pixel - Google Assistant is available, which is somewhat handy - Decent sound quality

I wish I could rate them higher

I really like these headphones, I do...When they work...the problem is they don't often work. They take a charge, and for the 4-5 hours its great but when they have to be recharged in the case I feel like they only stay in the exact right place to charge 25% of the time, and no matter how many steps I take to place them properly in and ensure they are charging it doesn't actually change anything. 75% of the time they will slightly move and stop charging. And it takes nothing to dislodge them from the charge contacts in the case, just setting the case down on a table does it, putting the in you pocket does it, even wrapping the cord around the case in the way the instructions show dislodges them so they don't charge. Unfortunately for me I waited too long to reach out to google about them, but this is a common issue. Like I said I want to like them and I want to recommend them... but I can't.

I'm on my second pair of these. A very frustrating experience, mostly because just getting them to charge is a headache alone. You have to mess with a chord by wrapping it around the case just right, so the case can close properly. think they're charging while you're away? LOL! Not a chance! So then after holding your finger on the reset button for 5 min, just maybe you can catch a flashing light, and do the process all over again. For whatever reason, google engineers have a sick sense of humor, or just don't care. Why you would make a product so difficult to operate and charge is beyond me. Not user friendly and too complex to manage.

They are awkward to get used to at first and the case will often not charge the headphones, after struggling to get them in the right position to charge in the first place/

    Terrible set of Bluetooth earbuds

I had high hopes for the Google Pixel Buds. I have a Google Pixel 2 XL and thought they would integrate seamlessly with my android phone, but unfortunately they do not. Here are the specific ways in which they will let you down: -They often have a difficult time connecting with your phone -You have to reset them very often -They come loose in their storage case and will quickly lose their battery charge I returned these and bought a pair of Apple Airpods for my Android. I am glad that I did, I have none of the above issues using them with my Android phone.
