I had these buds for two months they started having connection problems. I contacted google gave them receipts App. version numbers and so on. They informed me it is a known issue and needed serial # off of bud. There is no serial number on either left or right bud, so no exchange for new buds. A complete waste of money they currently reside in the city dump.

He researched, saved birthday and Christmas money, so he could purchase these Google - Pixel Buds. Guess when they quit working? Two months to the DAY of the final return date. I am SO mad. Some of that money came from his grandfather (my dad) who recently passed away. Google, this is a TERRIBLE product. Best Buy, do I have any options with you? Thank you for reading this.

I'll probably wait till the next version of these to come out the sound quality is not that good for the money and the other reason I bought them was for the translation doesn't really do much more than what your phone does and you still have to have your phone involved

For a Pixel 2 owner these just make the most sense

I read a lot of weary reviews before purchasing the Pixel Buds. Still, I decided to give these a try for myself because the design and the function with google assistant were most important to me since I had recently switched from iPhone 6+ to a Pixel 2 and really wanted to give google's product line a try. Pairing was incredibly seamless. I opened the charging case, unlocked my phone to make sure my BT was on (it was) and it had already discovered my pixel buds. So pairing was as simple as pressing "Yes" to connect. I had some trouble with the right earbud touch functions at first, but on day 2 it's all running as intended. Sound quality is better than expected but most reviews from audiophiles really tore these apart so going in I had low expectations. I also own Bose noise cancelling headphones and can say that the sound quality of the pixel buds are about as good as the Bose ones when the noise cancelling function is turned off—so not terrible by any means but I definitely think there is room for improvement. I would say ease of wear/comfort is top notch with these. I put them in, they fit, they stay in, and I can barely tell they are even there most of the time. My Bose headphones are over-the-ear and clamp down my ears and aren't always so comfortable. I have also tried out a few cheap-o brands of BT earphones with the cord-behind-the-head style and often pulled my hair with the rubber components, would fall out of my ears with even the slightest movement, and never paired like they should have. All I can say is, if you are an audiophile, you aren’t going to be blown away. If you are an average music/podcast listener who wants/needs a BT headset for their phone/devices, I would say these easily fit the bill. Easy connectivity, decent sound quality, modern and comfortable design, and if you have a pixel phone—these just make the most sense.

A great set of earphones to compare to Apple's Airpods for Android users. They sound really great, though, they do not have noise cancelling functions. Google Assistant works flawlessly with the buds and are probably my favorite feature. Would recommend for any Android user who loves to use their Google Assistant as much as I do and are in the market for a pair of headphones.

    Very Disappointed

I got my pair for $50 after receiving a $100 credit on the Google store. I still feel I paid too much. The touch controls are limited an imprecise. 20% of the time, tapping the right bud does not play/pause as it is supposed to. The swiping motion to control volume leads to many unintentional pauses. There is no option for skipping, rewinding or fast forwarding These are the only earbuds I've owned that hurt after an hour of use. They are also the only pair I've ever used to feel like they fit oddly in my ear - it takes far too much effort to position them correctly so that they don't fall out, something I've never had to deal with with other earbuds. Most baffling of all, there is no indicator for when they are charging. About once I weak, I pull them out of the charging case on my way to work only to find they weren't charged despite seemingly being placed in their charging case correctly. I can't think of any electronic device I've ever owned that didn't have a light or some other indicator to show when it's charging - another first for the pixel buds. Audio quality is whatever. I'm not a big audiophile, but I haven't noticed a big difference between these and the pair of wired Apple earphones I was previously using (and I'm honestly not sure which of the two would be expected to sound better).

    Good, but not great

I would avoid buying these, and here is my reasoning. They sound great and fit great, but the flaws are deal breakers for me. Overly sensitive touch pad on the right bud. I will pause my music or podcast while at work, and when I put them back in 15 minutes later I discover my music or podcast playing already. I take care in not touching them, but if you barely tap them on accident it registers a touch. Half the time the pause and skip feature doesn't work, so I have to turn the buds off and on again to get it to work correctly. Also, the case design is poor. I have to mess around to get them to seat properly so they charge. And even if they do get in there and start charging, the slightest bump (and I mean slightest) and the connectors disconnect and they stop charging. There have been many days where I come into work expecting them to be charged and they are completely dead. Meanwhile, my coworker has a pair of bluetooth ear buds that never fail to charge because of the charger design. Should have gone for those instead.

    Uncomfortable and Unreliable

I would never recommend these earbuds to a friend. I bought them direct from Google and immediately found that the earbuds speak Google Assistant announcements like an auction announcer--so fast you can't understand it. I reported this to Google and they still haven't found a fix nearly one month after I submitted initial complaint. On top of that issue, the earbuds are uncomfortable in my ears and the cord connecting the two earbuds is scratchy on my ears and catches on my neck if I turn my head. Finally, the earbuds routinely fail to connect to my phone after I take them out of my case and when I put them back in to "reset" them, the case doesn't even show that they are charging. Every time this happens I have to do a "hard reset" which requires holding down a button for 30+ seconds. It's ridiculous.

    These earbuds just work

Pros: -I'm not a fan of the full in-ear silicone earbuds. While those do provide more sound isolation, I prefer these because they are very comfortable. -The sound is surprisingly full -Google assistant is amazing, just touch and talk -Battery life is pretty good -Minimal audio lag when watching videos (which is a huge problem for true wireless earbuds) -The cable between the buds is not intrusive and actually convenient if you want to take them off for a minute. -USB-C connector (I have a pixel 2 xl) Cons: -Case can be better, but really not a big deal -No sound Isolation, but that's the trade-off -Wish it connected to multiple devices at once, but unfortunately most other headphones don't do that either. Google did make the switching process fairly straighforward though.

I had a couple stumbles in the beginning. The instructions to pair them in the first place weren't great, and it took me a while to figure out how to turn off phone audio on my Android Wear watch so it isn't always stealing phone audio from the buds (not a Pixel Bud-specific issue). Now that those wrinkles are ironed out, I love them. Great sound quality, comfortable, stylish, small, light, and they stay in my ears better than Air Pods did. They also have better sound than Air Pods. Would recommend these to any Pixel owner.

very OK for Google's first attempt

After doing extensive research on bluetooth earbuds, I bought Pixel Buds as part of an online Black Friday special to accompany my Pixel 2 phone. At first, I was impressed but after using it a bit, I am considering exchanging them for another set of ear buds, maybe even the Apple Airpods, to accompany my Android phone. The integration of Google Assistant and built in controls are a great feature and charging and connecting could not be easier. However, the sensitivity of the buds is too high and I often activate the Google Assistant or receive notifications while trying to turn down the volume or catch the earbuds while falling out of my ears. This leads to my next negative - a bad fit that I cannot get over. The buds do not fit inside the ear, as similar earbuds do, and often fall out just while walking. Additionally, the cord catches at times and and since the earbuds are not even remotely secure, they fall out. All in all, this is a very OK set of earbuds, not great or poor, but very OK, mostly because of the fit. This being said, I expect higher quality earbuds in Google's next attempt.

These earbuds are great. I was honestly a little worried about purchasing them after reading some expert reviews, but I have yet to be disappointed by them. I had seen reviews complaining about how they were hard to pair to the phone, or that users would have to reset them frequently in order to pair them to their phone's. I have not had any issues with them pairing to my phone. It's as easy as opening the case and removing them from the cradle. They are usually paired before I even get them in my ears. Sometimes it takes a second longer for them to pair, but the Pixel Buds always pair within a reasonable time. The sound quality is excellent. Now obviously if you're looking for noise canceling headphones, these may not be for you, but then again these are not advertised as being noise canceling. The strap they come with helps them to be secure in your ear. I use them at work where I frequently shovel, lift heavy objects, and often carry bulky items and I have not had a problem with these becoming lose in my ear. The charging case has a nice premium feel to it and it is capable of rapid charging the earbuds, although the case itself cannot be rapid charged. Google assistant works extremely well on these earbuds as well. It operates at the same level of accuracy/ease as Google assistant on Google homes, and as Google assistant on the Pixel phones. Overall I cannot say enough good things about these earbuds. I would 10/10 recommend them to anyone with an Android phone.
