After going through 3 pairs of these, I can't say these are worth the $180 asking price and Google is plagued with QC issues.
The first pair had the 1 min and 50 second cutout issue so I sent them back with high hopes the next pair would be better
The second pair had a louder than anything I was listening to unless the volume was above 80%. For $180? I sent it back.
The third pair had a lower buzzing noise but can still hear it unless the volume was higher than 50%. I sent those back and I am going to wait longer for them to fix their buds. I waited a year for the Almost Back variants and I'm extremely disappointing that Google still can't fix these issues

The fit is amazing! Attractive design that fits snug in the ear. Easy to lay with them in the ear as well.
Battery life is excruciatingly bad. Not even four hours of listen time (with no calls, ect). Returned for this reason.

Got 6 months of very little use. I used them maybe 30 or 40 times. Then the left ear bud just quit working. Google only refunds the actual price paid, not the tax you paid. And the process of getting this refund is turning into a week now. I have had nothing but trouble with Google products. I do like the Pixel phones. I've been a Pixel phone owner since the Pixel 2 XL. But after repeated hassles with their other products. I'm not doing business with Google again. Guess I'll also see why so many people like Samsung phones.

I have a Pixel phone. I went through two pairs of these.
The cutouts are too frequent to be acceptable. As much as I desperately wanted these to work and like them, all the cutting out ruined them.
I went through two sets. The first pair had the periodic 1-2 minute repeating cutout that many have reported. I contacted Google, we did the whole reset, etc. It worked for a few hours then it started again. I decided I like everything else about them so much that I exchanged hoping I would get a "good" pair.
The second pair didn't do it nearly as much. In fact, using them at home, it was so infrequent that I was ready to keep them. I was very happy about it. Then, I went outside for a walk. They cut out more than the first pair. Mostly, the left one cutting off this time but I lost both too. I couldn't even get through one song. I thought maybe it couldn't handle my phone in my pocket so I held it. It kept happening. I even turned off WiFi... like that would be a realistic option.
Just no. I'm done. Too much money. Why is it so hard for Google to make headphones that stay connected? I have had a lot of headphones and none have cutouts like this.
ON THE PLUS SIDE... sound good, amazingly responsive touch controls, tight Google Assistant integration, some neat AI, comfortable, sit flush with the ear... everything else is great! That's all wonderful if you can actually listen to music smoothly.
To put this in perspective, I got the Galaxy Buds Live. I think I heard a quick cutout one time in hours of listening. I even walked away from my phone. Not nearly as Google but they work. These were my other option for headphones with a little openness to them.
Bottom line, if you still want to buy them, make sure you test them at home, outside, and any other place you plan to use them. If they work for you, I'm jealous.

Have had it for couple days and attempted to see if issue could be resolved and it turns out it is a very common issue I don't think the sound dropping is coming from the Bluetooth connection. Awesome features but does not satisfy for price purchased.

It doesn't make sense to mention all of the advertised features, which seems to work as advertised. It's the fringe features that set the Gen 1 version of the Buds apart, and they set the Gen 2 apart as well.
One of the nice things about buds is that once you've paired them with multiple devices, you don't need to enter pairing mode to reconnect. If I'm listening to my phone, and sit down in front of my computer, I can just click "Connect" on my computer and the buds will switch. And, when I walk away, I just select "Connect" on my phone without having to put my buds in pairing mode to reconnect to my phone. This has not been my experience with other bluetooth earbuds.
Having said that, my Pixel 3a will sometimes wrestle with my Mac for control, and I won't be able to stay connected to my computer for longer than a few seconds before my phone wrests the connection to itself.
Another fantastic feature is, if you only have a single bud in your ear, stereo will be interleaved so you're not missing any streams. And when you pull the second bud out and out it in your ear, stereo is separated again. And a single bud works sufficiently well for calls. So if you have several hours of calls lined up for the day, you can keep one bud charging, and hot swap when the battery in the other gets low.
But sometimes the buds just... forget about one of the earpieces, and you can never get any device to stream to both buds. Only a reset might fix this, and forgetting the buds on all of your devices, but there's no guarantee after a reset the buds will be discoverable. For me, this always fixes itself within a few hours. But who knows? As I write this review, I wonder if my buds will ever connect to anything again (my annoyance in the impetus for writing this review). Google Support is helpful to get you to limping, and they'll even allow you to follow up for a day or two if the problem reappears. But, here I am, with what seems to be a product that doesn't work as a reasonable person would expect.
And finally, there's a huge delay in the audio when watching media on your computer (I have a Mac). I read it has to do with the lack of support Google has for the AptX codec. I don't know what this means. All I know is I'm watching a movie, and hear the dialogue maybe two seconds late. So the buds aren't perfect for watching comedies, horrors, thrillers, etc. But music, podcasts, and audiobooks are just great.

These are not very good and for the price, I'd look elsewhere. The way the buds cradle the ear they seem to have fit issues with my ears. I have tried different combinations of the different size earpieces, but nothing works because its the back wing that doesn't do a good job of securing the buds in your ears. They do not stay put as well as other earbuds or even the AirPods. If you exercise or like to listen to music/watch YouTube videos while you eat, expect these to fall out or move around.
Which leads to the major problem with this design. When the buds move at all and the metal on the inside of the buds lose contact with your skin the buds pause your content or cut out in one or both ears. If you are not perfectly still or using them under ideal conditions these buds constantly drop sounds in one ear as you lose connection. I have had all types of connection problems with these that should not occur with a flagship pair of headphones.
On top of this, I don't know what's going on with Google's software but it happens so often that I lose connection with my phone (Pixel 3 XL), re-seat the earbud, and then tap on the bud to start my music again -- and somehow it starts playing a podcast (I don't even have my podcast app open!) or it starts playing out of my phones speakers instead of the headphones (which is really jarring in a quiet office or on an airplane). There are some really bad software glitches with these earbuds and the Pixel 3 XL.
What the buds do well, it does really well, which is why I at least give it 2 stars. The Google Assistant functionality and the translate features are really fun, and I enjoy them when I'm in my lab and have gloves on and can't open my phone to start timers or set alarms. But I'm afraid all of the imperfections and compromises these buds contain make them not worth the money. There are better true wireless headphones out there.
