I do not know much about blutooth buds. I'll tell you about these in short.
I have a Pixel phone.
Pros:
They are ok comfortable, and secure into my ear well. You can change the earhole sizes to fit each ear differently. The swipe and tap capability are great!
Cons:
I expected better sound quality. In comparison with the stock wired earphones the phone (pixel 3) came with; wired stock ones fit better and sound more balanced. There is noticeable feedback and static during dead sound. Bass boost needs to be on otherwise super unbalanced. I feel like as deep as these go into the ear canal, the treble is wayyy too much with lack of bass tones. It has in ear proximity sensors with are super cool, but sometimes they are too sensitive and pause audio even when I think they are in very snug.
Overall:
I'm a bit dissapointed but with the touch gestures and fact that it's a google product like mine i feel the ui is convenient. But the price would not justify. I would love to use my wired ones but the cordless convenience outweighs the cons. I waited for a sale of $20 off, and now they are $50 off. Best buy matched the price difference since I bought these within return period.

I purchased the pixel buds as soon as they were released and absolutely love them. The built-in Google Assistant along with the audio and call quality were absolutely top-notch. They felt great in my year and I was able to use them while working nearly all day. I typically only put one button at a time just so I can hear other things going on in the office around me so the capability of using either bud was very beneficial to me. Like many others I did experience some Bluetooth drop out and connectivity issues which ultimately cause me to return these and also am looking at switching over to iOS so did not want to make the pixel bud commitment long term. If we end up going with the new pixel for a I will definitely give the pixel buds another shot as it seems like the latest rounds of software updates should have fixed the connectivity issues they were having. I had also tried The Jabra 75T and thought the pixel buds were a far superior product. Although the Jabra did have better noise isolation I did not like the plugged sensation that I got when wearing them. The noise isolation with the jabras also created slightly more base but from an overall audio quality standpoint the pixel buds had much better call quality than the jabras did.

Fit: These fit very snug in the ear. Shortly after inserting them into your ear, you forget they are there. Super comfortable. I run several miles every day and these never come loose or feel like they are about to fall out. They come with three different sized tips. I use the largest tips as they created an unbreakable seal.
Sound: These sound great. I was pleasantly surprised because I had seen a few reviews that said the bass was a little lacking. Wrong! These earbuds have plenty of bass. I like a lot of bass and have actually considered turning down the bass on my phone's equalizer.
Note: I suspect other people's issues with both fit and sound is due to improperly inserting the ear buds. After inserting, you twist the ear buds upward as far as they go. They go in deep and create a seal (if no seal is created, then use a larger tip). The ear buds will not come out, and the sound is powerful.
Other features:
Google Assistant is incredibly useful. When I am running and get a text message, the earbuds automatically tell me who sent the message. Then I can just hold my finger on an earbud for one second, and it will read my message. It will also read other notifications. You can bring up Google Assistant easily at any time by holding your finger on an earbud and talking. At that point you can do pretty much anything that Google Assistant does on any device.
Turning volume up and down by swiping is brilliant.
Tapping to skip songs, etc., is useful (though most earbuds have something similar).
Wireless charging is great, and the case is awesome in that it charges the earbuds super quick. Personally, I have never run out of battery while using these, but I don't think I have used them for longer than three or four hours at a time. When I did run them down to roughly 20%, I was pleasantly surprised that after putting them in the case for roughly 20 minutes they were fully charged again.
Potential issue: The right earbud drains battery faster than the left. According to Google, this is normal because one earbud is doing more work than the other. Supposedly, the work will shift to the other earbud to even out battery drain. I do not know if this actually works as Google intends. I have read other people's complaints, but I have not had any issues either way because I've never gotten either earbud battery below roughly 20%.
Bottom line is I recommend these and would buy them again.

I've had these buds for about 2 months now, and after about a week of use they started to malfunction. The right bud would connect to my phone (OG Pixel) but no audio or touch controls would work. Left bud works fine. Updated to the latest firmware 296, and the right bud now has audio and touch control, but only when In-ear detection is disabled. If enabled, the right bud will once again connect but no audio or touch controls. So now I'm missing one key feature as using these without in ear detection results in a lot of accidental command inputs. I've tried cleaning the sensor, resetting the buds multiple times, tried on different devices, but nothing has worked.
Also there are intermittent connection issues. I'll be sitting at my computer desk with my phone at my side within 2 feet and clear line of sight to my phone and the buds will lose connection for a few seconds and reconnect multiple times in a short period of time.
Another con to these buds is they're a bit uncomfortable. After 30 minutes of use I can feel fatigue in my ears due to pressure points from the size and shape of the buds. Maybe I just have small ears?
Now for some pros. The audio quality when they work is actually very good. A little lacking in bass, but nice and clear mids and highs. Battery life hasn't been an issue for me either, and they charge quickly. The touch control when functioning are intuitive and the google assistant feature is neat if you use the assistant often.
For $180, these issues are unacceptable. I'll be working with pixel buds tech support on either getting a replacement that will hopefully work correctly or my money back.

My favorite wireless buds.
I've used the Galaxy buds plus, live, and pros. At the end of the day, the pixel buds won me over. They have a great sound profile, they have a long battery life that I have yet to deplete, they have great touch controls, and the most important part to me is they fit.
These buds really have a premium feel despite the "plastic" ends are each bud. I have not run into any connections issues with the time I have put into these. As for fit, most ear buds don't fit my ears well, however, these fit, and stay in my ears without the worry of falling or having to adjust at all times while in use.
I have no complaints with this product and recommend everyone give them a shot!

I'm really confused by all the negativity with this product out there. I've owned a set for 2 months and now purchased a green pair for my son for Christmas. This product is outstanding. Unbelievably comfortable fit, great sound and integrated touch controls with Google Assistant. Battery lasts a long time and the case is second to none, offering quick recharging and such a comfortable, one-of-a-kind design. Simply amazing. I honestly think people need to chill lol. Everyone is always comparing tech to Apple products. In my opinion these are actually superior to Airpods in many ways.

I have been considering these wireless headphones for a while. I have been using the Google pixel 5 so I figured these headphones would be a great match for my phone. So far they have been great. The fit in my ears is good and provide a good seal with the rubber ear tips. The pairing with my phone is fast. The feel of the case is like an eggshell and is satisfying to hold and the touch controls are ok. You have to be very intentional with your touches so they register correctly. Sometimes when I'm trying to pause the song I accidentally turn the volume up. Only other complaint is once in a while I'll hear a crackling sound while listening to music. Its quick and infrequent enough that it doesn't bother me. The sound is good and full. So overall a very good pair of bluetooth wireless earbuds and I recommend.

They need work - connectivity issues

If and when Google fixes the connectivity issues, I will update my review. But for now, I am submitting this review based on my current experience. First off, the earbuds are very comfortable. I can go on very long runs not have any issues as far as comfortability or worry about them falling out. They look great. The sound is very good. I do wish there was a little bit more bass to them, but overall the sound is very good. Now for the bad - the connectivity issues are a major problem. Immediately when I put my buds in they begin to cut in and out. Like I said before, I use these on long runs and it is very annoying to have them cutting out every few seconds. But, consistently, about 30 minutes in to my run they disconnect from my phone. I then have to reconnect them and only the left earbud works. The weird thing is that when this happens the left earbud works completely fine but there is no sound coming out of the right one. The left earbud doesn't even cut out at this point.
I know Google has responded to the issues that so many of us are facing with these earbuds and I'm confident that they will get it fixed. I look forward to that day. Hopefully it is sooner rather than later.

1. The pairing process is a breeze
2. Once paired, the connection process happens instantly every time you open the case
3. Having Google Assistant in your ears is super useful if you are working out/on a bike ride for example. (although I might have to yell sometimes because of the crosswind)
4. I've heard some great notes and instruments which I would otherwise miss in some other headsets/earphones
5. Bass is a little lacking though
6. Fit is great and the buds have a very low profile on your ears
7. Battery life is pretty good

I've owned these headphones for about a month and they have served their purpose very well. The design of the case and headphones are fantastic. They feel well-made and worthy of the pricetag. The sound quality is also surprisingly crisp for bluetooth headphones and are excellent for many purposes. The touch controls are responsive and intuitive.
I have had occasional issues with audio cutting out, but firmware updates have helped and there should be more of those on the way. Those rare issues are enough to make me sometimes question the price of these because they are issues that shouldn't exist in a product like this. But they don't happen often enough to really affect my enjoyment of these. These are a great purchase especially if you have a Google Pixel.

The Good: It is extremely comfortable. I've used 4 or 5 different wireless earbud types and these are significantly more comfortable than any other. They are very easy to setup and use. The battery is great (3 hours on each and more than enough in the case). I heavily use one at a time and these are perfect for that, either can be used independently.
The Bad: The stupid things have weird connection issues. If you have your phone as far away as your pocket and you have both in, expect buds to periodically drop in and out for no reason. They'll usually reconnect, but not always. If I used them together more often, this might be a deal breaker, it is very obnoxious.

The Best Earbuds With One Major Problem

These are the only wireless earbuds that actually stay in my ears. And it's all thanks to Googles wise decision to add that stem on the buds. I'm not sure why every manufacturer doesn't do that. Some of us just aren't fortunate enough to be able to just pluck a bud in my ear and have it stay in. But I don't have that issue with these.
Another thing that I like about them, is obviously the sound. They sound great; just as good as the Galaxy Buds.
And one thing that these buds do that others don't, is Google Assistant. That's a game changer! The best way that I can describe it is having a smart speaker in your ear. You literally just call out to it and can have your phone do things without actually taking it out of your pocket. And saying "Hey Google, play this song or this music" and the buds just play is a dream.
BUT, I have to give these buds a 3-Star review for one reason and one reason alone: connectivity issues. If you research online you'll see that many people have had issues with these buds just randomly disconnecting from your phone, or constantly cutting in and out. I've experienced these issues and they're not pleasant.
Fortunately, Google came out with the Buds-A series that has the best of everything that these offer without the connectivity issues, and they're cheaper. I'd recommend getting those istead.

These would be the perfect earbuds for anyone with an Android phone — if they could maintain a connection.
The hands-free Google Assistant and touch controls are stellar and better than other earbuds I've ever used. I've read about the connectivity problems online by tech magazines and on online forums, but foolishly thought the odds were in my favor of not receiving a faulty product. I was wrong.
There seems to be a chance to get a pair that fails at the very basic function of consistently playing audio without disruption. My pair would cut out for a split second every 1 minute and 50 seconds on the dot, even after updating to the latest firmware that claimed to address this issue. I didn't have the infamous hissing issue though.
I'm sure I had a faulty product, but it seems this issue is more widespread than a few bad apples and has been ongoing for months. It'd be interesting to get stats to see how widespread it is. While I managed a workaround by using the right earbud first then the left, this fix is only temporary and would go back to regularly cutting out after an hour or so. Using only 1 ear bud at a time, it worked flawlessly. But I didn't pay a premium price to only use one earbud.
From the sound quality, great features, accessible and comfortable design, I was ready to recommend this to anyone — even if they didn't ask me. However, it's failure to even maintain a steady connection that my budget $30 earbuds from an obscure brand can manage, I wouldn't recommend this product until months down the line when Google effectively fixes this problem.
If you only use one earbud at a time, which I do from time to time as a runner who wants to maintain spatial awareness or to be aware of my surroundings in a work-at-home setting during this extraordinary times, this can be a great product for you even if you don't mind getting a faulty product. But it's not something I would personally justify for the price, maybe if they were on sale for half off.

Since I love all of the google products I own (quite a few), I was excited to see these earbuds released. I wish I could have kept them, but had to return.
THE GOOD:
1) amazing fit. Very comfortable right out of the case. Lightweight, secure, just perfect.
2)The touch commands on each bud were super receptive but wouldn't activate accidentally, exactly what I wanted.
3) I don't want noise cancelling earphones and these seemed to be exactly where they should be: I am aware of what's going on around me, but what's coming through buds is front and center
4) phone calls- great for me to hear, people on the other end reported the sound to be crisp and clear
5) could touch control from either bud- I love not having to remember what side does what.
6) the case- not only does it wireless charge, the case is so smooth and just has a great tactile quality. Feels like a smooth worry stone. The buds fit securely and the case opens and closes with the right amount of force.
SO WHY DID I RETURN THEM: I got a pair with the dreaded 2 minute (or 1 minute 50 second) disconnect: it's all over the internet and I bought after the software update that was supposed to fix it. I updated as soon as I got them. It didn't fix it. I love these so much that I'm debating buying another pair to see if I get lucky.
They are so close to perfect (for me) that I'm just sad I had to return them.

Gave it 4 stars because the quality is amazing and I love the fit. But I keep having issues with one of the earbuds randomly not connecting to my phone anymore. I'm on my third pair because the first pair the left earbud didn't work at all, the second set the right earbud stopped connecting after a week, and my third earbuds are having issues with both connecting at the same time. Not sure what Google is doing. But the sound quality is so amazing and I even compared directly to Galaxy buds and I much preferred these for sound and fit.

These earbuds gives exceptional sound that outmatches traditional earphones. The ability to switch ear pieces allows even the smallest and awkward of ears and ear shapes to use these buds. It really does feel like an orchestra is in your head and it is so lightweight that it doesn't give my ears that encumbered feeling like headphones typically do. Sadly, it is perfect... only when it works.
When it doesn't work, only one ear has functionality. These will randomly lose connection and I had to replace these 15 days within my purchase, get those replaced, and experience something similar 3 days within its arrival. They work best on a laptop/ desktop than on the phone in regards to connection and stability is concerned; however, you will lose a good bit of features and it isn't great as a microphone when connected to a computer. The mic so far only works when connected to the phone. When it works, this is a 5, but when it doesn't, this is a 2.25, as you will get annoyed and you will rather just use it sparingly. However, I must say that they have the world's best customer service reps I've ever spoken to and I speak to them often.

They are very comfortable to use, at one point I forgot that I was wearing them. I love to listen to music on the go and these are perfect but one thing that I would've liked is more bass on these. I have a couple of smart device at my house and the Google assistant makes interacting with them super seamless, which is the reason I decided to buy these (very useful). Given this being my first true wireless, I’ll give a summary of pros and cons that most people don’t talk about online. I did a lot of researches before buying, so I know what kind of information is out there, and what is to be added based on my own use.
Pros:
This earbuds is a perfect match if you:
1. Don’t have unique ear shapes. The buds tend to get irritating after 5-6 hours of wearing (I wear these during work and didn’t really take them off in the beginning. Within time they became unbearable)
2*. Like to use Google Assistant. I use it a lot to know the time and notifications without having the watch or phone out. This is specialty about this Android earbuds so far in my opinion. You can also use this to make calls like Siri.
3. Supports wireless charging. Though this is not the only earbuds that can do this
4. Quality better than average headphones. Though this is arguable comparing to other earbuds
Cons:
1. Potential QC issues. Some may encounter white noises even without listening to anything. Luckily this didn’t happen to me.
2. Range is okay. It’s about the same as my other cheap $80 neckband earphones.
3. Connections can have hiccups. There are times 1 bud just loses connection and you have to put them back into case to reconnect. Setting up the google assistant is also not that intuitive.
I’m not returning as I’m still overall satisfied as this is probably the best it’s going to get for android at the moment, but if you’re trying to get like the best buds yet for android phone, keep waiting.

There are a lot of things done right, but others Google can definitely work on for the next gen Pixel buds.
Pros:
- Ease of use to pair on Android phones
- Great quality feel for both ear buds and case
- Compact and easy to carry in a pocket
- Google assistant at your disposal everywhere
- Pretty good sounds quality
- Call quality is good as well
- Notification shows the battery percentage on both the earbuds and case
- The case has wireless charging
- Charges really fast on both the ear buds and case
Cons:
- As of now the constant audio dropping
- Hissing noise is present so far
- No noise cancellation
- Not all that comfortable and no way to customize the comfort and grips of the buds
- No equalizer customization app
- Bass is not as punchy as I would like it to be
- Less ideal battery life
- Pretty pricey for standard offerings for the ear buds
Most of these can be improve by software updates. So for now I say wait till the quirks get fixed and the price is reasonable when on sale.

I have been eyeing the pixel buds since they were announced late 2019. I was super excited to get my hands on these, as I didn't own a pair of wireless earbuds, and the mic on my Sony WH1000XM2s was terrible for conference calls.
It took a while for me to find the right ear tips to get a comfortable fit. I probably changed them 10 different times to experiment. After reading their fit guide, I realized my left and right ears are not the same size, and required different ear tips. Once I figured this out, the I could hardly notice I was wearing earbuds at all. Very comfortable for up to about 2 hours for me, and then some discomfort can set in.
The sound quality on these is decent. I wasn't expecting anything stellar for $179, but they definitely do the job for me. I've also used these a lot with my Mac while taking conference calls, and the mic quality seems excellent. Cuts down on a bit of background noise.
Battery life is decent for my use patterns. I don't use them for more than 2 hours at a time, so I don't worry about the ear buds dying. The case charges the earbuds quickly and I enjoy via wireless or USB C.
I do have some gripes with the software. There can be connection issues to the audio source, where you'll hear skips in the audio. I've also had times where an earbud will cut out completely, and requires me to put it in the case and take it back out to reinitiate audio. Google has already acknowledged these issues and promises to fix via software. They've already fixed one of my other complaints, which was a high pitched hiss when the earbuds weren't playing audio.
All in all, I'm happy with the earbuds for the price I paid. I hope Google will continue to improve via software updates as quickly as possible.
