Unlike many of the other reviews I actually really enjoy this watch. In fact I previously had the Samsung Galaxy watch 5 and sold it in favor of the Pixel watch. I'm not an always on display user and I've run into very similar battery life between the watch 5 and pixel watch. I'm not charging any more or any less than before; both watches charge fast so it's not that big of an issue to me. Pixel watch may not have as many of the bells and whistles such as Body Composition scanning however the Pixel watch is leagues ahead with it's heart rate tracking and overall fluidity with using Wear OS. I don't find any hiccups or sluggishness using the Pixel watch but would have constant hangups with watch 5.

It was a gift but they absolutely love it & use it daily. Easy set-up. Gift for my grandfather.

Great watch if your wrists are on the smaller size or perfect for women, Perfect if you own a Pixel.

Very hard to get to pair with phones it seems like smart watch makers are very proprietary Google watches only work with Google phones

It is a good smartwatch! The pixel cellphone has some features already with the watch. It's nice!

Clean and very functional with my Google pixel. Would recommend over a galaxy watch.

I began my smartwatch journey with the infamous Pebble watch, which in turn, was bought out by FitBit and now Google in turn, abosorbed them. Weird how things work out. For the first smartwatch under the Pixel branding, this is good first gen of a smart watch. But it is not perfect. For many, this Pixel watch may be ok, but for me, and I am a power user of sorts, it falls short. Basically it comes down to how long this watch can last for a work day off a charger. The documentation says 24 hours and I cannot get that unless I am on powersaving mode, which is silly. I can get a good 14 hours with the always on display off and also the tilt to wake off as well. The other bad thing is that the watch could have done better with a bigger battery and display if it was 44mm vs the 41. I was hesitant in regards to the processor, but everything I installed on the watch, the watch handled like a champ. The other bad thing is that this watch does NOT charge via QI or wireless charging. No matter what people say, this doesn't work on any of my wireless chargers. Now to the good or great things. It looks cool and futuristic. Especially the black on black. It looks like a skipping stone on your wrist. Second, the connection to my Pixel 7 has been solid, no disconnections from what I can see. The band is super soft and supple. As for using third party leather bands, I believe you need to have the OEM Leather bands they sell to get to the spring bars. Other than that, you cannot use any other watch bands other than OEM. The screen is super crisp. The touch screen is responsive and notification and haptics are loud and strong. Not Pixel strong but strong. If you own a Pixel phone, you can attest to the erupting haptics. With the new Android OS, it is smooth. No issues running the FitBit stuff and playing spotify and connecting my Pixel Bud pros were seemless. This is the LTE version. I opted to try it out to see if I would use it. This is where you can use the watch without the phone. It pretty much piggy backs your number and has an eSim to operate on it's own. This worked well. No issues here, other than the battery usage that LTE is known to use. I opted to cancel that line out because of a couple of reasons, but that is a personal preference. Now going back to the watch bands. This comes with two sized long sides for small and larger wrists. Which is awesome. Would I recommend it? For a casual user yes! But for a power user like, me I have to wait for a bigger battery in this one. For me, this is the ONLY reason from being my perfect smartwatch. For now I wait for gen 2.

After six years of wearing WearOS watches this has been the smoothest experience I've had with the platform. While Google says 24 Hours of battery you can get close to 30 if you have Always on Display off. My only complaint with the watch is the size as I wish Google made a larger one.
