When rolling thru some areas the camera can tend to draw attention. However when working in an area that I want no attention to the camera this blacked out housing provides much better camouflage even while camera is on suction mount right on the hood of the car. Well worth the money if you want less attention to your GoPro...

The black out housing is great for on my motorcycle helmet. It blends right in on the black helmet with the Matt black finish. This is a waterproof housing just like the original clear housing.

This item is a great way to keep your recording STEALTH! It totally blackouts the camera making it easier to conceal and record without anyone knowing. I would have given it *****5 STARS but it doesn't come with an extension housing in BLACK when using the LCD BAC PAC or the BATTERY BAC PAC, nor is it even an option from GoPro. This added accessory should come with the unit and should be a must. What were you thinking GoPro?

LOVE THE BLACK CASE, its very discrete and doesnt show the record light while recording, has a flush design.

The camera fits well in the case and also does not have a lot of glare coming off of it when it is sunny outside.

This thing is pretty cool. We got it so we could video our daughters playing golf and softball and we have been able to get some pretty awesome videos. I also took this to one of our church retreats and the kids loved it. I got some great videos of them climbing the rock wall and zip line, utilizing the helmet mount, along with the gaga ball and 9 square they were playing. I also love the GoPro App - I can have total control over the device via my phone so I set the camera and don't have to mess with it.

Great case and even came with black stickers to put over lights. Wish it had an opening for charging

Fits my gopro like it should. I have the 4 Silver and 4 black. Works perfectly. The only downfall is that with the other back plates they give you, they do not include the one for the battery backpack. Other than that its great.

2 days before my trip, the plastic housing clip broke on the original case that was never subjected to any extreme environments. The new one is okay so far

i use the black out on my cameras while hunting . they are perfect for that ,. the game can't see the camera , or the blinking light when on , it blends well . the only thing better is if it was camo

I love this case for a couple of reasons, one I love the matte black color. It looks very sleak and doesn't stand out as much. Second reason this case is smaller than the original clear one the came on Hero 3. The Hero 3+ is listed has being smaller than the 3 but it's actually the case that is smaller not the camera itself so this case essentially makes the 3 same size as 3+

If John Turturro wore a GoPro while acting as Emilio in Mr. Deeds he would have been using this housing. Granted the GoPro was only an idea in 2002 and not sold until 2004 but you get the drift. I love the housing the camera comes with but I wanted something that didn't scream out to everyone but still offered the protection I wanted and this fit the bill. The only thing I would change is to make it have more of a matte finish. All in all I am happy with my purchase.

Needed something to hide my GoPro from sight. I'm currently using my Hero 3+ as a dash cam in my Jeep. Tucks up right above my rearview mirror and is barely noticeable from outside the vehicle.

I really like the look of the black housing vs the standard clear.
