Bought GoPro for vacation great to use to film unforgettable moments

This camera is great for stationary applications for documentary purposes where you can get close to the subject matter. The photo/video quality is good and the free editing software is a little unintuitive, but works well. I have a big complaint about the control app, however...I'm pleased that it utilizes WiFi as opposed to Bluetooth (because BT is generally lower range and fidelity), but the app functionality can be buggy, inconsistent, and can have debilitatingly slow response. That's not a deal killer because it if you have time it does work eventually and you can double-check that it's working, but if time is tight it becomes a really big issue (and sometimes mere seconds can make the difference). Smaller issues for me are that it breaks up video recordings into 12min files, that it is compatible with only "go pro approved" microSD cards, and that battery life is no more than 90mins while recording video. For reference I'm using a Galaxy Samsung S6 Edge running Android 7.0 (Nugget). I rate this as 2.5 stars and round to 3, but if the android app weren't an issue I would rate this at a solid 4.0. I would recommend this to friends while telling them about those caveats.

Very handy camera. So far everything works as promised. Very sturdy and beautifully designed. I have not yet tested whether this camera is actually waterproof - and I probably won't either seeing as I have read many other reviews saying it got water damaged. I will likely keep it in a waterproof case for my upcoming vacation. Would have given 5 stars if I could comfortably take it in the water with no casing.
