Hero 5 is the best action camera you can get right now (compared to hero 6 too). Go pro has been making this for years and they have perfected the hardware and ease of use with this model. More importantly, the video quality is stellar with high bitrate and excellent electronic stabilization. Video from chinese knock offs don’t even compare and you can clearly tell why go pro is more expensive. Totally worth the purchase.

I bought this on sale during the holidays and it was one of the best purchases I've made in a while. If you're not looking to do crazy rough recording with it, then the Hero 5 will save you money over the Hero 6. I've had it out on my motorcycle for a few days now and its been fantastic! Fair warning, you will spend a decent amount on SD cards, accessories, etc. Would be a great adventure action camera for a gift!

I wanted a go pro when the 3 came out however I did not want to spend the money. Black Friday at Best Buy gave the perfect reason at $350 with the remote and a $50 Best Buy card!! I am glad I waited since the 5 is waterproof and I love using the camera - clear video and photos, small and a fun way to capture your adventures !

My husband loves this go pro! He is a duck hunter and took it out hunting for the first time the other morning and brought it home and watched it on the tv! The picture was amazing and the kids loved watching his hunt. He said it was super easy to use and wore it comfortably on his head.

Purchased this gopro hero thinking that it was going to be a quick point and shoot photo and record but I was wrong. I’m able to do so many sweet videos with this thing way better than my iPhone videos and photos are crisp. I’m able to capture life moments with this ad make movies out of it if I wanted to. Great purchase worth the money!

My daughter wanted this for Xmas and our Mexico trip, it is solid product, easy to use and can withstand some rough action. The 4K video is supposedly great. We cannot wait to use/test this product, so this is a pre-use review but we are excited.

I've wanted a GoPro for quite a while, but didn't want to spend DAYS reading manuals so I put it off. Every so often I would be in a store and ask an associate if they knew anything about the GoPros and never ran into anyone who did................. until Black Friday 2017, at the Best Buy in Williamsburg, Va! The associate was VERY knowledgeable and pretty much put my fears at ease. I bought the GoPro and I must say it is very easy to use straight out of the box and the camera walks you through the steps to make it work. I really wish I could remember the young mans name that helped me because if not for his expertise with the product, I would have not made the purchase, but I'm glad he was there and I'm VERY happy with my new GoPro!!

This is an awesome camera, it is exactly what I needed. It takes good smooth video, and crisp vibrant pics. The only thing that could use improvement is the battery life.

I have Hero 4 and works great, I figured I would try Hero 5, little skeptical that didn't have outside case. Like it, ended up buying Karma since figured would be best deal. I love Hero 5 so ended up buying second Hero 5. Outdoor daytime recording is awesome, bad in low light conditions. Have submerged camera a few times in water with no incidentes, battery life still short, best if you buy at least one extra battery. The camera won't disappoint, I feel Hero 5 is better deal than 6 for now.

I got this go pro and I already have the go Pro hero for. I got it on sale for Black Friday so I just wanted to upgrade because my friends had the five and I like the voice control and the remote and the features

The camera is fantastic. I've used it in the rain and even dunked it underwater... definitely waterproof. The quality is exactly what it says. It even came with a mount that can be used on flat surfaces as well as rounded surfaces, which is super convenient. I mounted it to my motorcycle helmet and use it every ride to aid in case I need proof of anything for insurance. Also allows me to never miss anything exciting that happens in everyday life, like that guy I caught doing wheelies on his 4 wheeler on a back road. My only gripe is the fairly slight battery life, even with the resolution turned way down. Lasts just over an hour. Otherwise great camera, especially for the price!

Totally awesome. Snorkeled with this on my full face snorkel with gopro adapter for 1 week and captured the most unreal movies and never once fogged up or stopped working. completely waterproof. Crystal clear, easy to figure out. Also bought the 'selfie stick' and I walk around now recording everything I do like all the other lunatics on youtube. Totally fun and 4k video is UNREAL! You only live once so GET ONE!

I purchased this camera as a Christmas gift! Looks like a great gift, haven't used yet but as a photographer it looks like a easy to use camera with excellent quality photos.

I bought this for my trip to the Florida Keys and it worked great. The battery life isn’t the best but that’s probably because I had it on 24/7. It even withstands the salty water of the ocean! You don’t notice it at first, but when the water dries up and the salt is leftover, there is none on the inside of the ports or anything. It’s really completely waterproof without a case. And great video/audio quality!

We has a gopro before but it was the older model and we love it but we love this even more. Very clear and easy to use.

I'm taking a trip to thailand soon and decided to use my best buy dollars and cyber Monday to get a deal on something I've wanted for a long time. Camera is great, so far having fun messing around with the different settings. Worth getting the Hero5black over the session and the touch screen is really easy to use. My one complaint is battery life, I already purchased a secondary battery from reading reviews but with all the features it can really get drained quickly.
