Customers often highlight the Karma Grip's video quality, stabilization, and ease of use. The gimbal and its compatibility with GoPro cameras are also appreciated, along with the added benefit of charging the GoPro while in use and the inclusion of a protective case. However, some customers have expressed concerns about its battery life, price, motor noise, and size, as well as the fact that it is not waterproof.

I ended up returning this item. Seemed too expensive for what it was. Worked fine, just wasn't priced right.

I got the Karma Grip from the wife for Christmas, after non stop talking about it since it was announced. I have to say I have been nothing but disappointed. The product itself seems well designed and put together at first, but I have had nothing put issues with it. It is designed so that once the GoPro is connected, that powering the grip on and off also powers up the GoPro. That worked for me for about 2 months. Now it will randomly work correctly. The times that it does not power the GoPro on, also means that the GoPro control buttons on the Karma Grip don't work either. So you just have a stabilizer that has no functionality other than stabilizing at that point. I am already past my return window at Best Buy, and GoPro's customer service is horrible.
If you already have a GoPro, there are better stabilizers out there that you should look into. If you don't have a GoPro, got check out what DJI is offering, their OSMO stuff is loads better. If I can get mine replaced I will be selling it and moving over to DJI.

Purchased the karma grip after seeing some footage online. The grip does an awesome job stabilizing video and extending the battery life to over 4 hours, but I had a problem getting the grip controls to work. I needed to reset the grip multiple times to get it working. I read up online that others have similar issues. It either works great or you have issues. Sounds like a software issue but there is no update as of now.

I have had a difficult time finding something to hold my GoPro without my pictures coming out blurry and this item is perfect for stabilizing the camera. It Also comes with a great grip! Awesome purchase in my opinion.

I use this to get videos of the kids at my work. It's great to chase them around but have it still look like you're there with them

I like the Karma Grip. It is a great addition to the GoPro line. It takes some practice but in the end you'll get some nice video.

I purchased this after returning my first one.
Major flaws. First, it does not stay straight, so it's not good for a professional environment. Both units experienced this project within a day, despite tricks and customer support attempts to improve.
Next problem is the battery life. It's awful. And batteries are not removable. The life also varies greatly from use to use. And takes quite a while to charge.
Third problem is that it charges the camera by default and can not be disabled. You have to take your camera out to prevent this. Just wastes battery because the GoPro has removable/replacable batteries. Why would I want the handle using its charge on the GoPro.
Next issue is that the buttons do not always work. The camera does not always respond to button commands. This was tested with two grips and three new cameras. All with the latest update.
Finally, there is not pan, and to tilt, you have to do it manually.

Wonderful shots, not so great for audio recording

Pros: Adapts to motion wonderfully, flawless when used with auto stabilization. Stays out of the picture.
Cons: Motors can be heard if you're intentionally turning it faster than you would for a smooth focused shot. Does not pick up audio very well. Does not support an external mic. Sporadically has trouble syncing with Hero 5 camera.
Summary: Definitely worth it if audio isn't important to you.

Videos aren't as bumpy or jerky but it sometimes gets confused and keeps the camera angled. Have to correct manually.

You can still see when you take footsteps in the footage but it's stuble. Would work really well on a bike or a skateboard.

The grip is good to have because when the GoPro camera is connected to it, there is no shaking of the camera so the recording and quality of photos is on point. Downside is the GoPro isn't connecting to the grip and we've returned it 2 times. We decided to keep it after the last return. The only thing it can't do is record or stop recording when in the grip because of it not being able to connect.

So far seems to be working as expected and nice clear shots; just a bit expensive but worth it if you plan on using it a lot.

I have already contacted Go Pro twice because the batter will not take a charge. Also Go Pro customer servers has taken a turn for the worse... It usually takes about 2 - 3 days for them to call you back.
At one time really loved this brand, but ever since IPO the quality and customer service has drastically decreased

Took a star off simply because it doesn't have a joystick for tilt/pan, however, the follow function is very intuitive.

The karma grip lets you record video perfectly smooth. It's almost as if it's being done professionally. Whether you're walking or running the karma grip also allows touch controls on the grip.
