Customers often highlight the Karma Grip's video quality, stabilization, and ease of use. The gimbal and its compatibility with GoPro cameras are also appreciated, along with the added benefit of charging the GoPro while in use and the inclusion of a protective case. However, some customers have expressed concerns about its battery life, price, motor noise, and size, as well as the fact that it is not waterproof.

It always stuck on USB connected screen and you can't use it. I did a research about this problem and it said it was a hardware problem.

I love the gimbal. It does have a minor motor noise it isn't bad. I also noticed it has a problem with the camera staying still but it keeps the videos looking smooth so that's a win for me. The gimbal is compatible with hero 4 and 5. You would need to purchase the harness for th hero 4. Over all it shoots smoothly, I wish it had a joystick. I'll survive, my recomandation is buy the gimbal and if you DONT like it return it and move on to something else. Also, i agree GoPro customer service is terrible. It's been 3 weeks and I still haven't heard from them. But Best Buy does a great job answering your questions or in exchanging your items in a heartbeat.

Unable to use, as I need a Harness sold separately for the gopro 4, out of stock. This low rating is for Best Buy, not Gopro.

Pros
User friendly interface
Integrated camera controls

Takes 10-15 seconds to boot up to be ready to go
Bigger and bulkier than other gimbals
Hero 4 and hero 5 session camera harness sold separately.
Camera doesn't shut down or stop recording at times
Not 360 degree rotatable motors (doesn't stow away flat)

Smooth video footage

Very smooth footage, tested before the gimbal with the gopro hero 5, and stabilizer on, it did pretty good, but there is a huge difference when using the Karma grip. Now I was expecting to get double the stabilizing affect, thinking the gopro camera stabilization was still on.... but no, it shuts off when putting the grip on and the grip uses it's own... but I'm still happy with footage... one thing I don't like is the charging time, takes too long, and the Karma grip is a little pricey... I would recommend though.

I initially read a couple reviews slamming this product. Reviews stating that the karma grip was super loud and obnoxious and how annoying it was that it can take 6 hours to charge.
First of all, I am the type of person to plug in my phone at night and leave it there until I wake up. For me this is not an issue. I can snowboard all day, come home, plug it in overnight, wake up and use it again.
As for the noise issue. When I first opened the box and turned it on without the camera installed, it was noisy and you can hear the motor/vibrations. But who would use this without a camera? So I plugged in my hero5 and turned it back on. It is beyond quiet, you honestly can't hear a thing.
As far as the ease of use, the controller uses the same buttons/functions as the Hero5. If you are to turn on your grip and/or hero5, change the mode from photo to video, highlight (or tag) your clips, or use the quick capture, they are all there on the controller. There is an additional button to lock the camera at a specific angle as well.
Overall, great product, a little pricey but well worth it, and so fun to use!!

Overall, I've very happy with the Karma Grip. I originally purchased the HERO5 and found it was not worth the upgrade from the HERO3. But the Grip is a game changer for me. I use my GoPro for filming my kids. Before using the Grip, I found myself constantly fumbling around with the camera and often covering the microphones causing a lot of noise. The Grip makes it so much easier to hold the camera and the stabilization is amazing. My only dislike so far is in how the Grip often interferes with my view of the LCD display. I'm assuming due to the wide lens this was a necessary design requirement. I like the fact that I can charge my GoPro and sync my GoPro to my computer by connecting the Grip so that I don't have to keep removing the camera from the Grip. I have no complaints regarding the audio and do not hear any motor noise.

Makes your video better

This gimbal makes your video smooth and stable. Far better than simply mounting it without one. I attached it to my chesty and strapped it to my 2 year old son and it was interesting to watch. I never realized how much work it is for him to get up the stairs, yet somehow he does it pretty well.
Anyway, I don't understand some of the 1 star ratings. I mean how is it you buy an accessory that costs almost as much as the camera and not even know any of the features? One person claimed that they didn't know it was sold without a joystick. I simply can't believe they'd be dumb enough to buy it, but here they are, posting about it.
Anyhow, get it. You'll love it. Battery charge time isn't ideal but other than that there is little if any noise and the image is very stable.

Perfect for GoPro Hero 5/Hero 4 Cameras

I first bought the karma drone and was sad I had to return it after it was recalled. The Karma grip was part of the drone package and was a bug selling point for me. I was not sure if I would buy the drone again but wanted to get the grip one day. I was happy to see BestBuy selling them and scooped one up right away for my Hero 5. I think that BestBuy started to sell them before GoPro intended to release it. But as of today (Dec 4th) GoPro has officially released this product and you can now get the Hero 4 harness from them plus the grip and all the accessories and the firm ware updates.
This product has worked great for me so far (just like the one I had with my karma drone) and I am happy to have this tool in my kit.
Yes it has a few issues (small motor noise and muffled sound) but all in all it is the best gimbal for GoPro's cameras.
Very happy with this.

GoPro did good on the Karma Grip! Super smooth video and integrates with the GoPro and harnesses/accessories easily. The only bad thing I could say about the Karma Grip is the audio is not that great from the camera when the Karma Grip is used. Sounds like your in a barrel, but this is only if your using it for vlog. I use my GoPro for action shots and usually put music to my videos so it personally doesn't bother me at all. If you already own a Hero 5, go ahead and buy the Karma Grip. You won't be disappointed when you see the videos afterwards.

Stabilization is great, hands down, no shaking or any of that. I have not used on motorized vehicle yet. its my first stabilizer so i can't compare to others, but I enjoy using it.
Many have complained, about the time of charging, if you plug into computer it will take for ever and a day (10 hrs). I used my iPad charger that plugs into wall and charged up in 5 hours. If you buy go pro supercharger(49.99) and use the usb-c to usb-c it will charge in about 2.5 hours.
Also, your sound will be muffled when you use the grip compared to no grip, but you can still hear.
so depending on the use may not be for everyone.

Stabilization at last

I've used GoPro in the past and was always frustrated with jiggly/wobbly video that reminded me of the "Blairwitch project." That single issue prevented me from buying into the GoPro ecosystem. The Karma grip solves this.
I've used the DJI Osmo Mobile and found it revolutionary. For those seeking action video, it's just not designed for that. I had significant drainage of battery on my iphone 6 for videos and they were compounded by consuming much precious storage of the device. Lack of mounts for hands free video was another issue.
GoPro while having it's own troubles with the Karma drone, has done a great job with the grip. Decent battery life, hands free mounts, and stabilized video are what convinced me to buy into the GoPro ecosystem. Really looking forward to the extension cord to keep the battery handle separate from the gimbal head. Set up easy and up and running in minutes. Walking and running with the gimbal provides very smooth video without the bulk.
Downsides -- touch screen blocked by the gimbal, lack of removable battery, and lack of better controls for the camera, are some that come to mind.

Buy but with caution

Saw they had the display up at Best Buy and asked salesperson Will it work with my GoPro4? "Oh yes"
No, no it doesn't. Was getting ready to shoot this morning and discovered it needs a $30 harness accessory.
Called Best Buy and they said:
A) I don't need it (wrong) and then
B) they don't have it as a SKU'ed product accessory I can buy
So had to order it from GoPro direct. Will be here in 2 days.
For now I charged it (overnight) and can start it up.
It is heavy, it is large and loud. Not sure this will pickup any audio over the buzz but I will follow up once I can test with a COMPLETE product.
Frustrating month for GoPro users I know what with the drone recalled. I'll bet Best Buy is in the middle of it all here.

Man where do i start with this. After finally releasing more than a month after it was initially going to be released we finally get to test it out and be disappointed. First off this thing is huge, why is the handle so big but the battery life only lasts two hours? how is that even possible? Mine took about 6 hours to fully charge, while many others are saying its taking at least 10 hours to charge. I dont get how anyone at gopro would think its a good idea to try and sell this for $300. It lacks features that should be there. No joystick, no 360 panning. I have another gimbal that somewhat works with the gopro hero 5 and it has those missing features and also holds a charge for 8 hours. It also doesnt take that long to charge and its much more compact than the karma grip. Also probably the biggest draw back which totally blows my mind is the fact that they released this without fixing the motor/microphone problem. They 100% had to know they were releasing it knowing customers would buy it and all complain about noise issues. Gopro isnt offering this product on their own site yet so im hoping they release an update that fixes the microphone issue. If they dont then this product is a total fail and i will return it

CHARGING KARMA GRIP
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
It takes 6 to 8 hours to fully recharge after using in the field for up to 2 hours. This part is very aggravating. So, I had to buy a "Quick Charge 3.0, Anker 18W USB Wall Charger (Quick Charge 2.0 Compatible) PowerPort+ 1 for Galaxy S7/S6/Edge/Plus, Note 5/4, LG G4, HTC One A9/M9, Nexus 6, iPhone, iPad and More" and supposedly this will fully recharge the Karma Grip in 2 hours
Other than the CHARGING, I love the unit. Did not like the price!
