Karma grip works perfectly, I get great stabilization and great shots. It's easy to use and comes with the ability to strap it to your chest which makes it even more valuable

Has some bugs and GoPro Customer Support is BAD

The device works okay. There are some bugs with the GoPro Hero 6 where the battery dies if you leave the two connected. I have the OSMO Mobile as well and the extra features on the OSMO make it a better choice in my opinion. GoPro's support has been absolutely horrible. It's almost like they have a bot that just sends random responses and doesn't even read your emails. I've never dealt with worse customer support. Not going to return the item because I'm hoping GoPro gets their stuff together and fixes the bugs, but from reading their forums, I don't have super high hopes they will.

After researching the Karma Grip vs the DJI Osmo gimbal, I decided to go with the Karma and GoPro Hero 5 combo because as one reviewer put it, "the Karma is gimbal made by a camera company and the Osmo is a camera made by a drone company" or something to that effect. In side by side tests, I thought the differences in footage were almost imperceptible and already having an investment in GoPro products, I decided to stay with that route. The footage I get with it is so incredibly smooth and it's easy to hold, lightweight and reliable.

    Best 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer Available

Maybe six months ago, I decided that I needed a stabilizer to improve my videos from trips. I tried the Feiyu Tech G4 first. I used it for about a week and returned it - it was flimsy, a pain to get the camera in and out, the batteries were cumbersome and had to be removed from the gimbal to be charged, and the charging "connector" (basically a very flimsy wire with a connector that probably would not last a month) was horrible. Then I tried the EVO GP, which was basically very similar to the Feiyu Tech (probably manufactured in the same place) and after a week of use the motors started making weird noises. I returned it too. Another thing that bothered me about those two gimbals was that they did not come with a case, and they were both very flimsy. Then I heard GoPro was going to launch the Karma Stabilizer. I waited patiently and got it as soon as it was available. First: the stabilizer is a lot sturdier than the others, and it comes with a carrying case. Second: you basically slide the GoPro in and out with ease, and it is more secure than in either the Feiyu or the EVO. Third: the controls work seamlessly with the Hero 5, and you can charge the gimbal through a simple USB cable, without the hassle of removing the batteries. It works like a charm, and so far I had no issues. One more thing: the Feiyu and the EVO, which were considered the best gimbals in the market then, had to be placed in a flat surface and started up laying down every time you turned it on so it could level itself. The Karma can be just turned on at any point and it's ready to go. I highly recommend it if you want your videos to look more professional. It's worth every penny.

Had to return the first Karma within a week due to a loud motor noise and the camera would tilt up to the right. Second one works much better and does an amazing job stabilizing everyday videos. Handle is good sized with easy to use controls. Adding and removing the mounting ring is quick and easy. Changing out the adapter for Gopro Hero 4s is also easy, just 2 screws and slides off. Does take awhile to fully charge, around 6 hours.

Definitely very user friendly in terms of how simple it is to operate. I just wish there was on option to charge the GoPro or not as it drains the battery from the Karma grip itself.

I'm very picky about shaky videos and this makes my life easier. Battery has great life and also works without a battery in my hero 5. Only downside is no extra battery for the grip.

Looking over the remarks about the limitations of this gimbal I am left wondering if those reviewers that complain about the Karma Grip understand how these devices work. Comparing it to other aftermarket gimbals the Karma Grip perfectly integrates with the camera, unlike the others in the marketplace. The Karma Grip works as advertised and it is awesome. Really the best way to get steady handheld shots with a GoPro. The grip is set up to "plug and play" with the Hero5 Black but you can purchase adapters (easily swapped) for the Hero4 or Session camera's. You can easily switch camera modes from the buttons on the grip's handle but it is still best to set up the camera from the app. The tilt lock feature is really handy to set up your framing of a scene. The battery life is more than adequate; even in cold weather. I have been shooting with the grip in subfreezing temperatures on a regular basis and haven't run out of power during the day yet. That said, it does take a long time to recharge, over 3-hours. I recommend getting a dedicated 2 amp USB charger to make the process quicker. I haven't experienced the tilt issue some have mentioned. Mine has been flawless. The "hum" mentioned by some is definitely there but it is barely perceptible and can be easily filtered out in post processing if you find it to be problem. Frankly who uses a GoPro for its audio capabilities anyway? I've been using the Karma Grip for nearly 3-months now and can say it's taken the camera's capabilities to another level and is absolutely the best GoPro accessory I have purchased to date.

    Rock Steady GoPro Video

Finally my GoPro video is rock steady. I boat this to take video on the boat on a large lake with big waves. Before the Karma you couldn't watch the video because it was so bouncy. After the Karma I now have rock steady GoPro video. I was on the fence of buying a stabilizer that had a joystick, but decided on the Karma based on recommendation and the fact that it controls all facets of the camera; even menus. Works as advertised and does take a long time to charge, but the battery lasts a long time and charges the GoPro at the same time. Love the included storage case. This think rocks!

I purchased this Karma grip to record myself and my family on our outdoor activities. It's amazing how steady it keeps the footage. Soccer games look like a movie as I'm running down the side lines recording. I have the GoPro supercharger so it charges in less than two hours. It's easy to use with the controls all right next to each other. My 10yr old figured it out in about 10 minutes. It's great!

Great smooth video. I use the Grip for runs regularly. Time to time my grip tilts which requires me to turn off and calibrate. I also wish it had an option to raise or lower the camera. when I use the lock feature it will make my videos shaky so I don't love to use that. Other than that I love the Grip. Wish Karma was available now that I already have the Grip and Hero 5 Black.

The first unit I purchased worked great on initial use but then wouldn’t recharge. Best Buy exchanges it for another unit and it has worked flawlessly. Smooth operation, really good stabilization, and battery life is acceptable. I also looked at DJI Osmo but really prefer GoPro option as I have been long time GoPro user and had great experiences with their products.

This a great tool. Has really changed how I shoot with my GoPro. The only thing I wish I could change is the viewing ability. Hard to see the entire shot because the gimble can get in the way. May need to find a phone attachment.
