Great scooter for my 9 year old. Not too fast and not too slow. I think this is great for kids around 9-14 in age. Great battery. Its great for neighborhood riding. Im not sure if this would work for commuting more than a mile or two each way. Go Trax products are pretty good in general.

I am new to electric scooters and thought I’d give this one a try. Right off the bat I want to say that there is a weight limit for this scooter of 220 lbs. I weigh more than that, so I was a disappointed to discover that I can’t use it. But I kept it for my 9 year old granddaughter to use, and my experience with her riding it is what I’m describing.
Assembly and operation are simple. The only assembly required is to unscrew two screws with the supplied hex-head wrench to remove the cap at the top of the tiller post and install the handlebars. Then reattach the screws and you’re done. Five minutes at most.
The manual takes pains to point out that the scooter must be fully charged before riding it the first time, but it gives no indication of how much time this might take. The manual also says that you should not simply plug in the charger and leave it overnight as it is possible to overcharge the battery. So you have to keep an eye on it when charging.
I had it plugged in for about two hours initially, and it still hadn’t given an indication of a full charge, but I disconnected it and had my granddaughter try it, anyway, because we were anxious to try it out. It worked just fine.
Controls on the handlebar include, on one side, a throttle lever which, if you hold it all the way down for ten seconds, initiates a cruise control-like setting that holds the scooter at speed without needing to hold down the button. Otherwise, the speed of the scooter changes with the position of the lever.
On the other handlebar is a lever/button which applies a brake. It is not a handlebar lever like you would find on a bicycle. You have to push it down with a finger. It doesn’t apply a hard brake but rather just slows down the scooter. There is also a brake for the rear wheel which is very basic and is simply just you stepping on the rear wheel’s fender to cause it to rub up against the wheel.
Other controls include a display with a speedometer and a state-of-battery-charge indicator. There is also a small headlight that can be turned on with the press of the same button that turns the scooter on and off. There are no other lights on this scooter, just reflectors, and I doubt I would want to ride it much at night, especially on any roads where there would be motor vehicles. There is also a small kickstand which hides nicely out of the way and does a good job of holding the scooter upright when parked.
The claimed range on a full charge is seven miles, which I have not been able to test because we just haven’t tried to ride the scooter that far. It certainly lasted long enough for my granddaughter to get her thrill of riding it for as long as she wanted to. For short commutes for a small adult, the scooter should work fine. It’s simple to operate, just push off on it like you would a manual scooter and then press the throttle and off you go. It moves along at a pretty good clip (about 12-13 mph), which is plenty fast. My granddaughter got the hang of it very quickly, I would say within 30 seconds of her first ride, and she had a great time scooting along the paved trails at a local park while I followed behind on my bicycle. (She, of course, wore a helmet, as did I!)
The wheels are small, so you really need to stick with smooth surfaces. Riding it over a gravel surface or a dirt or grass surface just either isn’t possible or doesn’t give a satisfactory ride. Level ground is best, too.
The scooter folds up quickly for easy carrying, although it is not the lightest thing there is. But it is nice to be able to stow it in the trunk of a car. For a low-cost scooter, this certainly does the job. It’s easy to assemble and operate, and it’s fun to ride around on either for older children or adults who meet the weight-limit requirement.

Scooter arrived from shipment in one box. Upon opening the box, the scooter was nicely packed to protect from any damage in transit. Upon opening the box, the instruction manual and hardware was on top and readily accessible. The hardware included were extra screws, allen wrench and wall charger.
The scooter came mostly assembled. The only assembly required was attaching the handlebars. With the frame and handlebars removed from the box, attaching the handlebar was the first step. To do this, you simply removed two screws from the frame which holds the helmet attachment with the provided allen wrench. You slide the handlebars into place, reattach the two screws and assembly is complete. This all took less than 5 minutes to complete. It is now ready for the road!
It came with a charged battery for the scooter which is nice as nobody wants to wait for it to charge when you first get it.
The scooter feels very sturdy. The manufacturer suggests a weight limit of 220lbs for this model. The pad where you put your feet is plenty big for an adult to rest both feet on when riding.
Turning the scooter on is a simple push of a button located on the handlebars. Once turned on, the display shows a battery power LED which when fully charged shows 5 dashes. It also shows the MPH in a 0.0 format. (For example 10.5 MPH). The LED headlight is also controlled by the power button, simply holding it in 5 seconds turns on the headlight. If the headlight is on, an icon shows on the display screen.
Once you have it powered on and the kickstand up, you are ready for motion. On the right handle bar is a toggle switch you push and hold down to start moving. If you hold the throttle down for 10 seconds when you are at max speed, cruise control is initiated and you can take your thumb off the throttle and keep cruising! By simply pushing on the throttle again or squeezing the handbrake deactivates cruise.
As far as once you are in motion, it is a very smooth, quiet ride. I maxed it out at 15 MPH going on flat surfaces. It does have pretty good power going up moderate hills as I noticed the MPH only drop to about 12 MPH on pretty moderate inclines.
The battery seems to be pretty solid holding a charge. I rode for 3 miles straight and still showed 3 out of 5 battery power left. Again, this was a mostly flat ride but it does seem you can get the manufactured recommended distance on a full charge. Over the course of a few days, I ran the battery to 0 so I could see how long it took to get a full charge. From being completely dead to a full charge battery took right around 5 hours.
I did ride the scooter some at night to test out the brightness of the headlight and I was very impressed. It was plenty bright to light up the road in front of me so I could avoid any obstacles in my way. I also had no problem seeing the light on the scooter when I was quite a distance away from it so I am confident this scooter will provide above adequate visibility at night both as an operator and from being seen by cars or pedestrians on a path or sidewalk.
In summary, this scooter checks all the boxes for a scooter in this price range. It is simple to assemble, simple to operate, adequate features and provides a smooth ride.

The GoLabs XR LITE Commuting Electric Scooter is awesome scooter for teens and young adults. As a “commuter scooter,” it lives up to its name as a smooth, efficient, and fun ride. Here’s an in-depth look at what makes this scooter stand out:
Simple Setup
One of the key features of the GoLabs XR LITE is its user-friendly setup. Assembly is straightforward, took about 5 mins to unbox and connect the scooter together. However, it did take about an hour to charge out of the box. (I know big deal)
Solid Design and Build Quality
Design is sleek and feels like it was crafted from high-quality materials. The scooter is “lightweight” under 30 lbs, making it easy to carry in one had. The foldable design adds to its convenience, it can be stored in my trunk or garage in small places, perfect for commuters and those with limited space.
Performance and Battery Life
The GoLabs XR LITE can reach speeds of up to 15.5 mph. However I was only able to get to 12 MPH maybe im a little heavy. The motor delivers a smooth and responsive ride. Going uphill it slows down. The battery supports a range of around 7 miles, but I think its more like 5 miles. (I haven’t tested it out yet). Which suitable for short to medium commutes. Maybe Im not use to it but the brakes don’t feel as responsive. Its more of slow rolling stop and a hard stop. Takes a little getting used to and I think its better this way too. If you stop too fast you might get thrown off the scooter.
Fun and Practical for All Ages
For both teens and adults, the GoLabs XR LITE is accessible and enjoyable everyone. The platform is substantial enough for larger feet, and the handlebar height is suitable for taller users. The intuitive controls, including a cruise control feature that activates after holding the accelerator for ten seconds, make it easy to ride.
Conclusion
The GoLabs XR LITE Commuting Electric Scooter is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a reliable, fun, and practical mode of transportation. Its easy setup, durable design, and enjoyable riding experience make it a great investment for both kids and adults. This scooter will be perfect for college student going around campus, high school students going to school or adult living in the city and wants to get around.

The GoTrax - XR LITE is a handy choice for anyone looking for a reliable short range travel method. The XR LITE tops out at 15.5/mph and offers a cruise control setting which is handy for straight distances. The XR LITE is able to fully charge in roughly 6 hours and the battery lasts 7 miles before it will need recharged. The brakes are very reliable and easy to use.
The XR LITE is a nice size and fits both of my size 10.5 feet on the base with room to spare. The XR LITE weighs in at roughly 20 lbs and is very comfortable to carry after it folds up. Once folded up it is easy to store and you can even charge it while folded.
Some issues I have noticed with the XR LITE is it really struggles up hills. Everytime I had attempted to ride the scooter up a hill I had to manually push the scooter and when going downhill it would force itself to stop at 15/mph which gives you a sudden jerk which might knock some users off if they're not careful while riding.
I would highly recommend the GoTrax - XR LITE to anyone first getting into e-scooters, while it isn’t the greatest e-scooter I’ve ever rode it still is very exceptional at the job it has in short distance transportation.

My kids have always had some kind of scooter, from the 3 wheeled toddler one up to the very popular Razor brand. We have always brought them on vacations and especially when camping. This was our first electric scooter and I had mixed feelings about making the transition.
Unboxing was my first realization this was different. Unlike the human powered scooters, unbox and go strategy this required some assembly. I am perfectly comfortable with this except the very first step is removing 2 allen bolts that help keep a cover in place where the handlebars are supposed to slide in and get secured. While removing the top allen bolt it seems stripped and didn’t want to come out without a fight. So I tried several options but about 2 hours of careful troubleshooting and using a vice grips and some muscle needed to be employed to remove that bold. I was careful to not damage the hardware surrounding where that bolt threaded into the scooter frame. The only reason I was able to essentially destroy that bolt was because there were two additional bolts provided in the box which I had no choice but to utilize when installing the handlebars.
While that wasn’t entirely impossible to complete the installation, first impressions were made and that seemed to be the theme so far with this scooter.
Charging was straight forward and the charge block has two colors to help, red is charging and green is charged. If you ever wanted to know the battery status you could turn on the handlebar unit and see roughly how many bars the battery had available. The handlebar display also is very simple and easy to read when operating, even in brighter sun conditions.
GoTrax claims 15mph and between myself, my 13 year old, and my 10 year old no such luck at that top speed. Collectively, on level ground we average about 12mph. There also are so many variables that chew into the overall battery life, again GoTrax claims 7 miles which in time equates to about 1-2 hours of constant use in our experience. We did find the steepest hill in the town we live and each tried to see how fast it would power us up and results were exactly what you expect, not super quick. I (dad) couldn’t even move, and as rider weight decreased, speed increased but only to about 4-5 miles per hour as it was working really hard to make progress up that hill.
Build quality outside of my assembly experience has been above average, metal is used in pivot points or areas that could potentially be damaged prematurely. There is a plastic hook system utilized when the scooter is folded for transport that would just need a slight deal of care to prevent unfortunate destruction of the two joining sections. Scooter weight is appropriate and 21lbs doesn’t seem too cumbersome to lug around when taking it places. This is the baby of the GoTrax family and performance does mirror that.
When shopping for an electric scooter there are two variables I would focus on, how long do you want the battery to last and how fast did you want to go. Outside of that potentially brand and warranty as these do have electric components and things can happen. They also have plenty of warnings in the paperwork about not riding in the rain or wet conditions which is something up to this point we have respected.
This has quickly become a family favorite and the biggest challenge we faced was simply having only 1 electric scooter for a family of 4!

Easy Intro to Electric Scooters

I think this is a great starter for anyone looking to get into electric scooters. I’ve seen many people riding electric scooters in the streets lately, but they are flying around at around 40 mph which I think can be daunting for people who have never ridden one before. This one tops out at 12 mph, but in reality, it tends to average less than that speed. The throttle isn’t that responsive, which I think is kind of good. If you mash down, it won’t fly out from under you. Instead, it gradually brings you up to speed. The brake is nice and easy too. I haven’t tried mashing down on it to test whether I get thrown or not, but I never feel like I might accidentally brake too hard in practical use. It’s nice to have cruise control, but in all honesty, I never use it. The scooter is rated at a 7 mile range and it tops out at 12 mph: given this, I don’t think cruise control would be necessary anyway. It’s great to have a headlight for riding at night. It’s nice that it locks when folding, but the anchor point for the lock isn’t really that sturdy. For those looking to secure this scooter to a bike stand, I wouldn’t recommend it. The lock is good to keep the scooter folded when traveling, but I don’t think it’s meant for security. Overall, this is a great entry-level scooter.

The GoLabs XR LITE Commuting Electric Scooter comes easy to assemble. All tools included. It's not bulky and not too heavy. Would work great in an area that is pedestrian friendly. Inner city use would be great for little errand trips.
Assembly was quick and easy. Less than 15 minutes to put together. Comes with a little bag hook to hang your bag. Then fully charge the battery. It has a thumb control acceleration and a thumb control brake on the left handle, However you can still use the rear foot brake also. It has enough power to propel a 180lbs person. And plenty of power for my 12 year old girl. The speed was more than adequate for my daughter to cruise around the neighborhood.
It has enough range and speed to for her to zip around the neighborhood to visit her friends. The build quality is good, made out of aluminum/metal. My daughter is thrilled to use it on the daily. I'm glad she has transportation for her to get to the neighborhood park.
I would definitely recommend this scooter for any kid that has outgrown their push razor scooters!

So this is my first time ever with an electric scooter so I don’t really have anything to compare it to. First impressions are pretty good. Box came pretty compacted and first instinct was this is gonna be a pain to put together. I was wrong on every front there thing was a breeze to put together. Basically all you need to do is put the handlebars on and you’re good to go. Took a couple mins of that. Was getting excited but your suppose to charge the thing all the way before your first use. So I did and that took forever. Started charging it just about noon and the thing wasn’t fully charged until almost 6 pm which was kinda of a drag but I’m sure that’s probably the norm for these things. So I took it out for its first test drive. The thing is fun. A couple paddles on each side controls it and off you go. The only reason I’m deducting a star from this thing is it was advertised to go 15.5 miles and hour and I was only able to get the thing a little over 10-11 mph. But in the scooters defense I’m probably not it’s target demo I’m a 220 pound bodybuilder so someone with a smaller frame could probably get it up there but I don’t know for a fact. Brought down to our shore house for use and will get us around town without having to worry about parking so that’s a huge plus. All and all lot a bad little machine.

The GoTrax XR Lite is an electric scooter designed with budget-conscious riders in mind. It offers portability, making it a convenient choice for commuters, students, or anyone needing to store it in tight spaces. It's a practical way to navigate your neighborhood, and its lightweight design allows for easy carrying when necessary. The scooter boasts a sleek, modern design and features a bright LED headlight and rear brake light, enhancing visibility in low-light conditions. The GOTrax XR Lite, with its sturdy frame that can support riders up to 220 lbs, is suitable for riders of various sizes. The folding mechanism is straightforward and intuitive, allowing for quick setup and breakdown. I tested the scooter on a route to the nearest grocery store, which was 2 1/2 miles away and included long hills. The scooter maintained a constant speed effortlessly, even on the uphill sections. I rode the scooter at speeds of its maximum of 12 mph for most of my 5-mile trip. While it may not have the most powerful motor compared to higher-end electric scooters, the XR-Lite performed admirably throughout the 5-mile trip, including the uphill sections.
When it comes to safety, the GoTrax XR Lite is uncompromising. Its rear disc brake provides reliable stopping power, ensuring your safety throughout the ride. The XR Lite's battery life is also impressive for its price range. It fully charges in about 3 hours, a relatively quick time considering its capacity. However, for longer journeys, it's wise to monitor the battery level to avoid any unexpected stops. This commitment to safety and practicality is what makes the XR Lite a top choice, even for extended trips.
The GoTrax XR Lite stands out in its category for several reasons. Its solid tires and adequate suspension ensure a relatively smooth ride, although it may struggle on rough terrain. However, its most compelling feature is its affordability. The XR Lite offers excellent value for money, making it a smart choice in a market filled with similar models that can break the bank. With the XR Lite, you're not just getting a scooter-you're making a wise investment in your daily commute or leisurely rides, a decision that you can feel confident about.

I really like this Scooter. It was protected well in the packaging and easy to remove and assemble, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. It does have a foldable design for corner or closet storage. It has good range for neighborhood use, a built in light, and decent level ground speed. The throttle, hold it to keep your speed, sets cruise control. If you stop on a hill, you need to get it started manually, then keep reactivating the throttle quickly to get it to go faster up hill. Free wheels when turned off, use as regular push scooter which is a nice feature. Rough terrain us can be difficult, like in light gravel or uneven ground. There is no shock absorption to speak of, will cause vibration of the handle a lot, would suggest wearing thick riding gloves to cushion the impact on the hands. The scooter does slow down its top speed quite a bit going up any sort of hill/incline, but it is still very useable as long as you, your backpack, and helmet are under the max weight capacity of 220 lbs. I recommend this scooter, it's good for kids and adults for local area use with its 7-mile range.
