Modern day lava lamp. Typically use Hue, this is ok but not the quality of a Hue product.

Stopped working a few days after I bought it. Returned it and just got a bulb. Felt cheap!

Purchased for my teenager boy. He loces thay it reacts to his voice. The app was easy to download and use. He said that its really a nice addition to his desk.

I bought two of these and one broke within the first week.

Amazing smart aura light. You can change the colors and pattern of the light from your phone. There are so many many options.

I bought these for my 5yr old daughter to try to get her to sleep in her own room. Worked.

I LOVE this Govee Aura Desk Lamp! It is so much more than "just" a lamp. I'm all about home electronic devices that have customizable color and light effects. And wow ... does this Aura have so many ways to customize the lamp. There's sure to be a multitude of 'somethings' for everyone! Setting up the Aura lamp was super easy. Installing the Govee Home app is a must. The app is chock-full of features! With it you can choose Scene Modes, Music Modes (which I have yet to get the hang of), and a DIY Mode - where you can create your own light and color scenes. There's even an 'Interactive Social Messaging' feature within the app itself where you can share your DIY creations. Although the option to customize the colors and lights myself is there, I prefer to use presets. The basic scene preset categories of 'Natural, Life, Emotion, and Repose' offer so many varying choices! What I decide to go with just depends on my mood, time of day, and what room I'm using the Govee Aura in. It's been super fun trying them all out! The simple controls on top of the lamp allow you to turn the Govee on or off, quickly increase/decrease the brightness of the light, change the mode or color of the light, as well as, cycle through the four music modes. Handy. There's also the option to set-up 'Hands-Free Voice Control' using either Alexa or Google Assistant. Instructions for pairing the Govee Aura for this can be found in the app's settings. Besides creating a fun, light-filled environment wherever you place this lamp, it can also be used as just that, a lamp for reading or even a night-light. Although I already have a "sleep lamp" on my bedside table, I find myself bringing the Aura from my living room into my bedroom at night to continue enjoying it there. Based on my experience with this Aura Desk Lamp, I'm now interested to check out what other products Govee has to offer as far as home lighting electronic devices.

I became familiar with the Govee brand earlier this year and purchased some light strips. They were easy to set up and have worked well. This lamp is also very easy to set up. You install the Govee app and add a new device. It was easier than some other devices to set up. The app allows you to change the color, brightness, scenes, and even create your own scenes. You can also enable to microphone on it to be able to pulse with music (there is a button for this on the top of the unit too). You can create schedules, too, using it to slowly dim off at the end of the day, or slowly brighter in the morning. This would work great on a nightstand in those cases. The lamp is a rather unassuming cylinder when not in use. It tends to not be noticed, which is great – it isn’t unattractive by any means, though. The colors and scenes in the app are easy to find and set. The lamp can get really bright, too. Another thing to note is that this isn’t just a one color at a time lamp, it layers colors to create animation effects and really does seem like it has endless possibilities. My favorite feature is the music mode. I had it within a few feet of a speaker and turned the music mode on. The pulses and colors really worked well, deep bass showing as a red pulse, vocals dancing above that in other colors. It really is a cool light show. I could see having a few of these around the house while entertaining to create a cool ambiance. Overall, easy to recommend this. There are so many uses you could get from it and the built in schedule feature makes it something to set and enjoy every day without thinking about it.

This is a really nice smart lamp. It is actually pretty cool. It has all the bells and whistles you would expect from a smart lamp or smart lightbulb. It has timers and programable features. There are a ton of preset configurations. The app is pretty well done. It takes a minute to get use to it, but it makes sense pretty quickly. The build quality is obviously great once you have it in hand. It uses a USB C cord to supply power. So, if it has so many nice things and does all this so well, why don't I give it 5 stars? It feels like it is missing something. Let me explain. A smart bulb has a hard time doing anything more than being a bulb. It is restricted. This lamp has a mic in it that will pick up on sounds to do the smart light thing where it changes the light based on the sounds in the room. So many smart devices do so many other things, whether it is a smart speaker that lets you control the house or a TV soundbar that also lets you control your smart devices. This lamp feels like it should have something else to it, even if it is just a charging port to plug a device in to or a full fledged USB hub. A wireless charging coil inside. Something to make it more than just a lamp. You can control the lamp through Google Home, but the interaction is pretty much change color and turn on and off. You can not set a scene through Google home. The more I think about it having a USB hub, even just a charging only hub, would make this a pretty sweet device. It just feels limited and something that may not get used all that often through the app unless you have a favorite scene. The top of the device will let you scroll through the colors and some of the pre installed scenes, oddly not all. You can also change the brightness. It does save the last scene you used. So you don't need the app unless there is a scene you can't live without.

I've been wanting an LED light/lamp for a while, I have a remote controlled LED in my bedroom that is pretty good, but my main issue with that is I need to find the remote if I’m lying in bed and just want to power it off. The buttons can be inconsistent and hard to remember where I last left it. That goes away with the Goove lamp, there *are* buttons on the top which allows you to put it in music mode, increase/decrease brightness, power on and off, and a "switch" button that you can cycle through colors. Which is great for basic needs, but if you want to get into customizing the colors or the scenery, you'll need to download the app. The app is interesting, the Effects Lab section has lots and lots of options and colors, including showing the colors of specific things you can then choose from: basic colors, colors of ingredients (such as broccoli, eggplant), desserts, emotions, stars and many more. It also has a National Flags section, but it does not have all the countries. You can argue that it covers most of the flags and other flags cover the missing flag colors, but it would be nice to just pick your country flag directly. Another great feature that you find in the app are timer, alarms, and sleep modes. You can set times when you want the lamp to turn on or off, a wake up mode (which gradually brightens the lamp), and a sleep timer which will decrease the light as time goes on. I like all the features, my main problem is that the brightest setting is not bright enough - compared to my LED light bulb. However, it is low to medium perfect for night reading and winding down.

I really like this lamp. It's slick and the colors are very vibrant. I wouldn't call it extremely bright, but I do think it's very aesthetic to a desk or whatever you decide to place this lamp on. The best part about this lamp is that you have a lot of options with the app but you can use just the lamp itself to customize through different presets like the music option or just cycle through solid colors. The lava lamp feature is probably what will attract most people to this lamp and it's for good reason. It's the main advert's picture and it's very nice. The way it transitions and how it looks is very smooth and flowing. Of course it doesn't look like a real lava lamp, but it is very nice to look at. You can also change the brightness of the lamp to suit your needs. The biggest downside of this lamp is that there is no built in battery. The moment you unplug it, it will just shut off. A battery would definitely be nice and it's a disappointment that this doesn't include it. Maybe a future model will include it but who knows.

It's a great lamp as well as a nightlight. I haven't really used the microphone feature on the lamp yet, I just like to watch all the different patterns and lighting effects that it can produce. One thing about the price of this item - I don't think It's not worth $65, it should be under $45 - $50. that's why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5. I could have waited until it went on sale to see if the price would have dropped to a reasonable amount, but this was a birthday gift for the husband, and I needed to purchase something ASAP that was fun, entertaining, and visually enlightening. As it turns out I use it more often than my husband, but I also bought him a few other well deserved birthday gifts just to make sure. For those of us who grew up with Lava Lamps and Tie Dye shirts a few decades ago, this is a whole new ball game. No psychedelics needed, just enjoy the trippin' light show without chemicals and other substances. Would I buy it again? Yes. Would I recommend it? Definitely.

The Govee Aura smart table lamp is a fun little device! It gives you access to several preset lighting scenes that can help you set the room's mood or create a fun, unique environment to enjoy. The Aura also lets you create your own scenes with an almost endless array of customizable lighting options, all at the touch of a few buttons on the top of the device or through the free downloadable smartphone app. The app itself is easy to navigate, with big, clear buttons for each of your Govee devices and groups. After selecting your Aura lamp, the large tile shows the firmware version and its Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and power status. Below that there are options for lighting effects, optional timer, a brightness scroll, and all the preset modes a click away. The Aura makes it so easy for you to switch between modes at the touch of a button. One of those modes is Music Mode, which changes the lamp color according to sound rhythm picked up from either the phone mic or the device's mic. This little function adds a fun, fully customizable dynamic to this device, allowing you to create a whole room atmosphere that envelopes the mood to match the sound waves in the air. Overall, the Govee Aura smart table lamp does more than just shine a light in the corner of your room. It brings everything together in your workspace, bedroom, or entertainment area with fully customizable colors and actions that give a room your personal touch and a distinct flavor. So I just received my Govee Aura RGBIC Desk Lamp a few days ago and have been putting it through its paces. Inside the package is the Govee Aura Desk Lamp, USB-C power adapter and user manual. This lamp is fairly simple and easy to setup and begin using. Simply plug the USB-C cable into the port on the back of the lamp and plug it in. On top of the lamp you will find the following controls: * On/Off Button: turns lamp on and off. * Brightness +: increases lamp brightness. * Brightness -: decreases lamp brightness. * Switch: press to change colors or long press the change lighting mode. There's also a small mic hole on top as well. The mic can be used for compatibility with "Hey Google," and "Alexa." The mic also allows the lamp to respond via music. You can download the companion app from the App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android. The app hosts tons of additional features, which allows you to tweak to your hearts desire. You can connect the lamp via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to your mobile device. This lamp can be used as the perfect nightstand nightlight for children, side table in your living room, or man cave. My favorite feature of this lamp is how it reacts to music/sound from my TV. I can sit it behind my TV and get really cool effects and lighting while watching a great movie. Or I can use it at my desk as a cool setup to match my RGB gaming desktop computer.

Awesome light!!! To start off this thing is we’ll packed. Open the box you got your light and boom your off. On default the light is bright white. I was impressed at how bright it got. Our house has a lot of natural light and the light was still bright. After downloading the app I started to get to know this thing and OMG it’s cool. We had music playing so we changed it to music mode and that looked cool. Then we went through the apps million different pre set modes. It literally has a pac man scene you can set that has a pac man eating white dots and it’s in motion. It has colors for moods, foods, animals, geography, flags, scenes, and I could go on and on and on. You could sit down one night and go through all these options it would probably take you an hour pressing each one and going to the next. Then the functionality options are just as plentiful. It’s got auto modes and timers and area locations etc! The list goes on and on and on. Our daughter thinks this is the coolest light and I want to give it to her but I’m so impressed I might be selfish and give it up. For the price which is not bad you are getting a functional cool light. We set it up by our tv for ambiance. Go buy this it’s cool!

The Govee Aura Smart Table Lamp is the new favorite gadget in my daughters room! For such a small table lamp it does so many fun things that can entertain the kids! We use this every night as a night light, and the adjustable brightness and colors help immensely. One fun new activity every night is picking the color of the lamp for the day. Some other fun things we do with the Govee is the music sync option. As the music is playing the lamp will dance around in whatever selected color pattern! It does this on beat with the music and is just really cool. You can even select different themes and color options for the music sync mode and it will line up with whatever you are playing on your phone. In addition to everything mentioned above there are other light patterns you can do, so many options! One of the best ones is the goldfish! It imitates a gold fish in a fish bowl! It circles the tank and my kids just absolutely love it! Overall if you are looking for an extremely customizable RBG lamp this will check all your boxes!

Easy to setup, beautiful effects, what more can you ask for? Well this one paired up quite easily with my iPhone 13 and using it was easy to get started. The effects are amazing on the actual lamp, you can play with the effects a lot in the app. The app never has locked up on me and always seems to find the lamp so far in my time with it. The app was easy to get and installed without any issue. Then of course you have to do the pairing, thankfully this was easily done and done correctly on the very first try. This is often a major point of contention from me is how well does it install the app and pair up, a lot of effort or very little? Thankfully in this case it was actually very little effort to get the app, install it, create an account and then have it recognize the actual lamp. All done on the first try without much effort at all and so far the connection is rock solid. I'd recommend this one to anyone looking for a nice mood lamp. I recommend particularly the Stormy Skies effect.

I’ve been looking for a nightlight that’s a bit brighter than the usual for a while now. My daughter will only sleep with some lifh in her room and, using one bulb in her overhead fan or her closet bulb were just too bright as well as energy consuming. This is absolutely perfect! Bright enough, soft enough but not overly so AND has a calming effect! Not to mention the extra’s or the ability to manipulate the color. Like it so much, I’m buying one for myself as well as my three nephews!!

Every once in a while I stumble upon a product that I think will be a cool addition to my lighting collection and this is definitely one I'm pleasantly surprised by. Don't let the fact that you've probably never heard of Govee be a detractor to picking up this product. The setup process using the Govee Home app was extremely easy and opens the door to a significant amount of customization (and I'm being conservative by saying significant) that the lamp has. There is a dizzying array of custom settings ranging from nature & life to colors of your favorite food ingredients. While I"m not sure anyone needs quite this much flexibility with their lighting, it's pretty impressive how they can get some of them to pull off. As I sit here looking at "Kitchen Aroma" which truly looks like smoke coming off a cooking dish, I'm more than intrigued with what is going on inside the lamp that I can't see than ever. Regardless of where you decide to put it in your home, this is the kind of lamp that kids are going to love and adults who enjoy cool gadgets too!
