If I could change one thing about this Grace Digital product, it would be to make it portable, because the size, fullness of sound, and functionality are just right. I know that battery power for this is impractical so I didn't dock a star for it. I haven't run into the 'ridiculous' bass issue yet (that I've read about). This item will take a Bluetooth adapter if you need stream that way, so your options for sound include not only the Chromecast Audio, but also an aux input like an iPod or phone, and BT from a computer, phone, or tablet. Just make sure that your source device provides volume and playback controls because this speaker does not have any of that. There is only one aux input, so only one alternative to the Chromecast Audio at a time is supported. I plan to get another one of these at some point in order to use the left-right feature.

Good sound. I wish it had more bass. But excellent idea for your chrome cast. No wires to carry around. Just the speaker and it's power adaptor. And your chrome cast music

This speaker sounds great! I thought it would be louder though. I'm glad I bought it on sale. I don't think I would have paid regular. I also wish it was portable..

I've been using this speaking with a Chromcast Audio for a little over a month between my kitchen and outside on the deck. It has full body sound and maintains quality when turned up (I havent gone much above half volume on the CCA). I like that the input from the CCA utilizes the optical out of the unit. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the sound can be rather boomy. If there was a way to cut back on the lower end of the midrange sound, it would be higher rated.

An amplified speaker with a Chromecast Audio dock on top. Using Chromecast gives a great deal of flexibility. One advantage is the ability to set up multiple groups of speakers. Unlike other options, a speaker can belong to multiple groups. For example, the family room speaker could belong to the groups downstairs and whole house. Another feature is being able to set a speaker to left, right, or both. Sound quality is very good. The base is a little heavy but not over powering. At $35 for a Chromecast Audio and $99 for the Grace Digital, it makes for a good alternative to Sonos

Picked this little gem up along with chromecast audio. Took just a few minutes to set up and then I had amazing sounds streaming from Pandora. The sounds, feel and build quality are very highly rated in my opinion, and I've considered a number of times getting another. The bass response from this thing is ridiculously good!!!

This speaker required the Chromecast audio to work better. Additional $40. I chose to bypass the latter and hooked to my phone. Poor sound even at full. Sent it back.

I'm a recording engineer, and I'm always looking for good sounding portable audio devices. This is an intriguing piece, requiring the Audio ChromeCast to reach its full potential, although it can use a direct wired 3.5 input. It generally sounds great with lots of bass nice mids and highs; it can get ridiculously loud in a bedroom or kitchen. The bass is strong...WAY too strong. Hyped with no way to control it, from what I can see. It takes sound from the Chromecast and there doesn't seem to be any way to to eq this speaker. If it had EQ I'd give it 5 stars, but everything starts to sound like a a disco remix with the kick front & center. The highs are are also narrowly focused so they drop off if you are off axis the the speaker. Maybe it's voiced more for EDM. Overall, I find the Logitek Boom 2 to be more pleasant for extended listening.

This is the only speaker you should be using if you have a Chromecast Audio! It has great build quality and the sound is very full and rich. This unit provides power with a built in micro usb cable and audio is handled via the built in fiber optic cable. There is also a rear mounted 3.5mm aux jack for connecting other devices. This is a must buy.
