My son is the one that plays it. He says its a very fun game and likes it as much as any other one in the series. He's a big gamer but has played this one a lot so we definitely got my money's worth out of it

I recieved this as a gift. The graphics are good. It was hard to control the car but that was probably from me not being used to this type of game.

My son wanted this game, but eventually, he found the language not so great and he was disappointed and we ended up taking it back. While the game itself was fun, he just got tired of the verbage.

This game is good for adults not for children has alot of adult words , but over all besides the adult words it's a good game ..

Grand theft auto 4 is one of those games that makes me marvel at how much detail got put into it. It's such a big game but so much close attention was paid to make it play well and look good as well. The graphics are great. Liberty City is fully realized city with tons of people and traffic. Its one of the most impressive cities in a game that I have seen. It truly feels alive. The story is great overall. The main character is Niko Belic, a russian immigrant that arrives to the US on a ship. From there you pretty much work with all kinds of shady folk in order to make money. Niko has his motives that he works toward throughout the game. He's an interesting character and his story is an interesting one to play through. Its a lengthy one as well. If I had to say the one thing I think rockstar nailed down almost perfectly in this game I would have to say the physics. From the people to the vehicles in the game everything reacts in such realistic way. It's very apparent to how much attention went in to making everything act realistically. Each car has its own kind of physics. Trucks are heavy so they will plow through other vehicles a lot easier than cars. Different cars have better handling than others making it so you have to adjust to the weight of each one to get turning down. When a pedestrian is hit. They will react realistically. If you clip their leg or arm they will jolt and whip around in a violent way. If you hit them straight on they will fold on top of your hood in a very gruesome spectacle. To put it simply its the best ragdoll effect that I have seen in a game. Even today. If you shoot an enemy they will react accordingly. And each weapon has its own power to it. If you shoot someone in the leg while they are running they will topple to the ground. My favorite is shooting their leg while they are climbing steps. What follows is an amusingly realistic topple down the stairs. If you take advantage of the physics in the game you will have a lot of fun watching what happens in each segment of the game. The missions in this game are very well done overall. Some of them aren't that great and sometimes leave you wondering what the point of it was but for the most part they take advantage of the strong points in the game. My favorite mission of all time is in the game. It involves a bank heist and has you running from the cops trying to escape. It's just awesome. There is a great addition the the gta series that helps immensely in missions: the cover system. This mechanic works well. Niko is able to snap into cover easily almost anywhere. Behind cars, dumpsters, walls, etc. While in cover he can aim, pop up, shoot and repeat. This makes firefights a lot more enjoyable than the ones from past gta games. Once you have completed the single-player campaign you can hop into some of the most entertaining multiplayer available. There are a bunch of different game modes to play including team deathmatch and you can play them throughout the whole city or you can choose a section of it to play in. You can have up to 16 players in a match. I did give this game 5 stars but I don't think this game is perfect. There is pop in every now and then that can get annoying sometimes. Combat in tight spaces doesn't work all that well and can result in some frustrating deaths. And Nikos movements are a little too stiff for my tastes. These complaints are minor, however. This game is just an awesome package. I recommend it.

A game like this you have to take it for what it's worth. I bought this for my teenage son, he know's how ridiculous it would be to do anything this crazy in real life, it's funny to me because I don't take it serious.

Son had this game, but disc was damaged, so found it online and replaced it for him. He was very happy to get it and has been playing it for a week.

This was given to my brother in law as a gift and he likes playing these games but my sister catches him on it all the time. I would give a 5 for a rating because he does like it even though it gets him in the dog house

Great game in the GTA series, with high replayability. If you have been playing GTA 5 and come back to it you can notice it's flaws but for the time it was released it is a great game.

I have this game for another system. I like it better for the Xbox 360. My 18 year old plays it for the most part

This was a perfect game for my grandkids who have different games machines! It can be played on the Xbox 360 and xbox One! They share!

My older boys have so much fun with this game. It is definitely not for virgin ears so if you are offended by the words...not the game for you .

My son had this game for ps4 but now decided he wanted for the xbox. Is a good game but also very bad depending on the age of the player

I picked up GTA4 last night at the midnight release and had (between last night and this morning) about 3.5 hours to give it a try. Let me say, as a long time gamer, this is one of the best games I have played in a long long time. The story (so far) is rich and full of amusing characters. The control scheme is familiar (for those who have played the previous installments) and easy to pick up. The one issue I've had is the face that you have to watch the entire opening cinematic before you can jump in and play. I assume this is to give your console a chance to load the extremely expansive landscape that is Liberty City. The mission system is great, and all the missions seem to be unique in one way or another. They're not too hard, but they're not very easy either. Perfect for the casual sit down before work, or the long grind of a late night full of pizza and redbull. This game is DEFINATELY not for the young or easy offended. The language is real, and very graphic, the violence is brutal (including cop killing and other conterversial subjects), and there are continious references and instances of adult themed activities. If you are a parent, I would not reccomend this for your young children. BUT, if you are a gamer, or a fan of the serious, then you will be highly satisfied with the way the fourth installment of the series has turned out. If I could rate this between 1 and 10, I would give it a perfect 10.

Seems to be a quality game with lots of texture but I haven't been past the first Chase. I have great difficulty using standard controllers as an auto wheel and always end up crashing. Have a dedicated car controller which works fine but it seems impossible to go back-and-forth between the two types of controllers and the car controller simply won't work for walking around The streets. Also there is no easy setting, a drag for those of us who simply want to experience a game without dedicating our lives to practicing it.

This is one of my husbands favorite games. Definitely is not appropriate for children he plays it mainly at night when kids are asleep

Good game for a younger kid. Teenager I would say. Has some violence and adult content but not too bad.

The series of games put out by Rockstar never fail to impress me. Already have this on Xbox one, but had to have it for 360 to do comparisons.

I'm adult that likes VIDEO GAMES/SUPERHEROES/COMICS/MOVIES. ....1st time playing games. Lol

Definitely NOT for kids or anyone under 18 years of age! That's why I do not recommend this game.
