Hard to find, sad animated movie. I was able to get on sale with fast shipping.

I've always been fascinated by japanese anime movies especially the classic ones. Grave of the fireflies is one of those simple and straighforward stories. This particular one is nothing too dramatic and simply portrays the life of people involved in a time of war and suffering. It was a good movie, maybe not something you would thoroughly enjoy but definitley something you would appreciate.

To American audiences this movie might feel a anti-war, and it's OK to feel that way. Though it feels that way, it wasn't the point and the author meant for it to be more of a "be grateful for what you have" message to Japanese youth born after the war. It's still a sad movie either way you take it and it's sort of a wonder that this is a Ghibli movie. Even funnier that it was a double-bill with Totoro when both were in Japanese theaters. Let that sink in.

A very good movie, and amazing artwork, but this is not the movie your kids would enjoy like most of his other works. It is a very depressing story, and not one you will throw back in for a while, if ever, after the first viewing.

I've heard great things about this movie for years and finally decided to pick it up. The movie has a lot of heart to it and shows the fallout of war through the perspective of children and teens. Beware though that the movie will leave you sad at the end.

Honestly, it's a beautiful film that will likely reduce you to a blubbering pile of tears. The Blu-ray itself is fine. No sleeve, just a case and a movie. Not overpriced or underpriced. It just... is.

Getting hard to find good anime movies for our teen daughter that we don't already have, but this one fit the bill - a nice story and good animation

I had to upgrade from my special edition DVD set to Blu-Ray because this a fantastic & heart-breakingly sad movie. One star off, though, for Sentai's so-so packaging of such a classic.

This movie really doesn't hold up to multiple viewings, but it's great nonetheless.

This is a good movie, no doubt about it. This is also a sad movie. When I watched it in the theatre, I could hear many people sobbing... and it really hit you. Worth to own.

The story and animation of this film is fantastic however, some issues are a bit more visible with it being upscaled for blue-ray.

It’s a great movie, but the saddest of all the studio ghibli films! Looks great on blu ray.

Great movie. Same quality as other Studio Ghibli films. But super sad. You have been warned.
