When I saw the Jitterbug advertised, I was "hooked" - despite the fact that I was not really in the market for a "smartphone" - the large easy-to-read screen especially intrigued me. In truth I have not really had the time since I bought it to fully explore all of the neat features, but I am SURE it will live up to my expectations - this weekend is my "target" - wish me luck!!

Good Phone but technology a little dated

I bought this phone for my wife who is having a rough time using any sort of smart phone and any phone for that batter. GreatCall has essentially taken the Android OS and layered a simpler menu system on top of it. The technology of the phone is about a year or two behind current models but the menus and ease of use made me spend the extra-money to purchase the phone. I am happy I made the decision since I preprogrammed numbers, and subscribe to the emergency call system and my wife can use all of it. She is just starting to get the text message thing down - well at least reading them.
Hope GreatCall will update their smartphone soon and also go from a 3G network to a 4G network.
Oh yes, service at Best Buy Store in the mobile phone department was absolutely the worst. If I had not been desperate and determined to get my wife this I would have walked out of the store. It seems the person that day in the Best Buy mobile phone department could care less about someone with special needs. I have seen some really great service from Best Buy in other departments and have bought all sorts of computer stuff from them and been very happy so this was unusual. I hope they see this and straighten it out if it was not just a bad day.

After 2 hours on the phone with GREAT CALL, they could not get me connected in my area--HELLO? I'm between Chicago and Milwaukee.
I returned the phone.

I bought this phone at my local Best Buy for my mom since she is intimidated with technology. The phone plans were pretty affordable and there weren't any contracts so I wanted her to give it a try. It's been about a month now and aside from helping her setup email on it, she's able to make phone calls and take pictures of her dog to share with her friends. I cant wait to see what Great Call will have next as my dad will be needing a new phone too.

While the phone seems to work fine, my wife carries it in her pocket and that has caused some problems. Because there is that Urgent Call button on the unprotected face of the phone, it seems to frequently self-call 911. My wife then receives a return call from the 911 dispatcher and has to explain that the phone has a mind of its own.
