This is what movie making should be like ALL the time. Good story, great acting. Very enjoyable film. I had never heard about the travel guide that this movie is named after. Nice bit of history to learn....

I was very surprised by this movie. I had not heard much about it when it was in the theaters and I only bought it because one of the employees at Best Buy recommended it. I'm very happy that I bought it.

I love this movie. What a great performance by the cast. 4K plus digital copy included.

There isn't a person you wouldn't love if you could read their story. I tend to try and not speak in absolutes and there may or may not be some exceptions to this rule, but the point is an obvious one: all the races and people with different sexual orientations or different religious beliefs can get along once we really get to know one another; that we're not really all that different after all. That's all well and good, but it's also a tried and true formula that at least one Hollywood production trots out every awards season to try and make us all feel better about ourselves. One might think, given the current cultural climate, that any movie attempting to bring people together might immediately be dismissed as one party's agenda to corrupt another into actually having a conversation with a person of opposing views, but maybe that's ultimately why Green Book feels so good right now and ironically, so needed. There isn't a thing here you haven't heard or seen before and director Peter Farrelly (one half of the brother directing duo who brought us comedy classics like Dumb & Dumber and There's Something About Mary, but also brought us Dumb & Dumber To and The Heartbreak Kid) directs with the eye of about as mainstream a filmmaker as it gets meaning there is nothing glaringly unique or interesting about the way in which he captures these events, but this does mean it will undoubtedly speak to a very large audience. There was some slight hope that Farrelly might utilize his experience in his years of making broad studio comedies to infuse the many predictable formulas this movie utilizes with a more striking tone or presence, but while taking on a project like this might have been a bold thing for the filmmaker to do given his past credits he alas decides to do nothing bold in the execution of this change in pace, but instead plays it right down the middle. Fortunately for Farrelly, the story has such a great inherent hook and given he's hired two more than capable talents to lead his film it hardly matters how he's saying what he wants to say as long as it's competent enough to capture how Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen are saying what they want to say. It's largely through these two performers that Green Book transcends the calculations of a movie such as itself, eclipsing every predictable note it plays that could have so easily rung false to become something genuinely endearing; a true crowd-pleaser in the least cynical and most delightful of ways.

This is definitely a movie that deserved the Oscar. They've really done a great job on this movie. It is a very interesting movie and beautifully done. Getting the 4k with Blu Ray and Digital copy is definitely the way to go and now with Movies Anywhere it makes it easy to watch wherever you go. Best Buy also has the better price now that Amazon is in VA, they charge tax on everything as well. A great thing about purchasing at Best Buy is getting rewards points which you don't get elsewhere. It quickly adds up.

I had heard or read reviews that went both ways on this movie. In my opinion, this is a great movie that is very much worth watching. Our 40-year-old Daughter watched it with my Wife and me, and she kept asking if such things as portrayed in the movie really happened. My Wife lived in upstate New York, but I lived in Virginia where white attitudes and behaviors could be pretty bad toward blacks, but not as bad as in the Deep South. Hopefully one day discrimination will finally fade away.

GREEN BOOK is not a DRIVING MISS DAISY in reverse. Deeply personal...YES! A true to life actual story of two extraordinary human beings...YES! Glorious performances...YES, GREEN BOOK is a real tale of a creation and lasting survival of friendship between two very different people, not just because of the color of their skin. Their backgrounds and social styles were so very opposite, but their passion and the realities of their hearts are identical. Truly a film that deserved the Best Picture Oscar!!!!

I love this movie. As I write this I am watching it again. The chemistry between Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen is a beautiful thing. The story itself is inspiring. I found the personal growth these two men brought to each other's lives the heart of the story. Mere words cannot express how amazing this film is. Watch it. Watch it more than once. It is well worth your time.

Revisit the South that is opposed to segregation, and two men of different color that try to over come it. This movie did win The Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, and could have won maybe even more. It is very entertaining if you believe that America needs to change for the better. It is kind of a mirror of what we were, and could be again.

I didn't pay much attention to this movie when it came out, but my neighbor had bought the Blu-ray and kept telling me how great it was. After seeing Viggo Mortensen portray his character with such realism and his on-screen interaction with Mahershala Ali as Dr. Shirley, I knew I had to have it in my collection. The movie is filled with great scenes and great acting by all the cast members. A must have true story.

I bought this movie, mostly due to all of the lavish praise and great reviews, but it took me a long time to put myself in the mood to watch this type of movie. Typically I prefer action movies or comedies, but I have to say that I really loved this movie. It is serious in it's tone and topic, but they splash in enough humor to keep the story fresh. A great movie for everyone to see and the acting is phenomenal

Great old person movie with old person things in it that will make your mom or dad laugh or feel some kind of emotion and by the time the movie gets over with they’ll say something like “wow I liked that movie” then a couple weeks later they’ll say to someone they know “hey have you seen that green ball movie with Vinnie Mortalson? It’s real good.” Buy it for your parents and watch it with them once.

Green Book tells the true story of an Italian-American bouncer hired to chauffer an African-American musician around the racially divided South for a concert tour. The two develop a mutual respect that is predictable (as is much of the plot) but touching. This well-written and acted (Viggo Mortensen is especially good) movie is one of the better among recent Best Picture winners.

This film charters the journey of two men through the Deep South at a time when "political correctness" was NOT a thing. I was engrossed from beginning to end watching these two learn from each other how to overcome their preconceived notions about each other, and themselves. The post-credit photos and biographies of the actual people makes it that much more powerful.

There was much controversy at the most recent Academy Awards when Green Book was selected as Best Film of the year. Allow me to say at the outset that if I were a voting member of the Academy I would have voted for BlacKKKlansman as Best Film. That said... I did enjoy Green Book. This film features an excellent cast working from a script that has biting humor sharp as a whip. The honesty of it stings. Video & Audio on the Blu-ray is excellent. Do not be afraid to give this film a try. You may not agree with the politics but after watching it you will find it difficult to fault the actors for their efforts -- the performances are, uniformly, first rate and worth the price of admission.

Not sure I would like this movie, but really enjoyed it. As an African American male and having gone to the African American History museum in Washington DC, to actually see a green book and use the interactive machine, this movie brought the book to life for me. There are parts that will make you laugh, and parts that may upset some, but the ending is heart warming.

I missed this in the theater and have been waiting for its release. Well worth the wait. Beautifully written and scripted. Great at catching the authenticity of the time period. Viggo and Mahershala were absolutely phenomenal and their relationship reminded me of mine with my best friend. Totally Deserved the Oscar buzz. Great movie to add to your collection.

I really appreciate what chemistry the actors brought to the screen. I had no idea of this time setting. It was emotional at times to me but overall a great movie. Heart warming. Sure tubed at my heart strings. Definitely recommend to anyone of adult age. Glad I took the chance on this. Now one of my favorites. A must see to really enjoy.

This film about a long lasting friendship between two remarkable men was excellent. The lead actors were fantastic. There were a lot of racially charged scenes during the 1960's South, but there were a lot of humorous scenes between the main characters. I was so excited when this came on sale. I highly recommend this to all movie fans.

Both actors showed how great they can showcase their skill and craft. The story was incredible. Enduring what both did in those times was just a sign of endurance, creativity and determination. It's funny, heartwarming and just a good way to communicate the good times and the bad times. A great cast and definitely a great story to tell.
