    Great Dark Film

One of my main reasons to buy this film is because it has Patrick Stewart, and I saw an interview with him on playing this role of a Neo (Term for the Third Reich post WWII member) leader out to kill these band members. I also like small films like this like 'It Follows' or 'Ex Machina'. From the beginning is sets a tone of these band members just trying to make a living of their music and trying to catch a venue. They manage to get one at some backwoods Neo (Term for the Third Reich post WWII member) club and then soon after they run into trouble and this is where things go downhill fast. A lot of dialogue was well written some parts were better left out or written better. The main actor some of his delivery could have been better, the characters overall are semi interesting but you can actually feel the struggle the encounter in order to escape the club. I did think Patrick Stewart would have a better role in this film but it was more of a shot caller type character., but it still worked. Overall I'd give this film a 7/10 Stewart's with a 4/5 film on the weekend with your buddies who want to see some young people and Neo (Term for the Third Reich post WWII member)getting murdered.

I loved Jeremy Saulnier's "Green Room!" Despite the elements that remind you this is a movie e.g. the beautiful cinematography and recognizable actors, Patrick Stewart and Anton Yelchin, the movie presents a palpable sense of horror that feels real because our main cast of characters react as everyday people would to these not so normal circumstances. Yelchin is the only one that feels out of place in this film, but it adds a layer to his character as the musician who doesn't have an answer to the question: who is your desert island band? Stewart plays Darcy the club owner. He's calm and callous demeanor is horrifying when realize that he's terrorizing a group of kids for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Saulnier paces the movie very well balancing tension, quiet moments and action but always moving the movie forward even though the characters spend most of the time backstage in the green room. 4.5 out of 5

I had heard good things about Green Room and was interested even before I realized it was one of Anton Yelchin's last films. It is only fitting that he delivers a standout performance in this taught thriller. The story focuses on a down-and-out Thrash band who finds a gig in a remote club run by White Supremacists. After a tense set, as they are about to leave, one of the band members witnesses a brutal crime in the club's Green Room. Soon they are being held against their will and complete, violent, chaos ensues. The film had my son and I on the edge of our seats the whole time. Both of us immediately started recommending it to others the next day. This movie is well worth the, usually sale, price. In fact it is worth full price in my opinion. See this movie!

An incredible piece of filmaking with amazingly brilliant storytelling and a cast that play their parts tremendously. Placing the characters into a confined setting the majority of the film amps the nail-biting tension up to eleven, and it also allows the characters to breathe and show their personality and how they react to the situation. So simple it is brilliant, yet would recommend this film to anyone.

I won't ruin any plot points but, it's a decent movie. It reminds me of the old Southern Comfort movie where a gang of National Guardsmen are trapped amongst a bunch of vicious locals. More recently think Eden Lake, which I thought was effective. Only this time its a band against sort of pseudo-you-know-whos that the website is banning me from saying. The movie does a good job of not explaining and you feel pretty trapped with the band and there are some good shocks but, it sort of circles around the sets a bunch of times and ends with a sort of alrighty then. Not bad, not great. Worth 10 bucks? Probably. But, I think Eden Lake was better.

So intense and well-made in every department. Horrific, funny, disturbing, engaging, scary...it's been in my mind since I saw it four days ago. I can't wait to see it again. I loved Blue Ruin but felt the ending wasn't as strong as the rest of the film. Green Room on the other hand is more consistently excellent from beginning to end. The cast is great, the cinematography is beautiful, the writing and directing are brilliant, the editing is fast-paced, the use of sound and music are effective, the art direction/set design is claustrophobic, the violence is realistic and shocking. The more I think about it, the more I realize how smart and subversive it is.

I saw this movie in theaters when it came out and caught me off guard. Me being an old school punk rocker, this movie about a punk band on tour looking for place to play. They get hooked up with a promoter who screws them over on a gig but offers them a gig where his cousin hangs out at. The cousin is a racist skinhead. The kids get to the venue and witness a murder. They are then held up in a white supremacist venue on a fight for survival. It's labeled as a horror movie, but more of a thriller. Defiantly worth the watch. Patrick Stewart kills it as always.

    A Brutal, Gut-wrenching Thriller

While this came out before the passing of Anton Yelchin, it didn't receive as much publicity until after (may he rest in peace). Yelchin is legendary, and he brings nothing but brilliance to a young band member who witnesses a brutal murder and is trapped, with his band, in the venue they just played in and run by the sadistic Darcy (Patrick Stewart). I won't go into great detail, other than that this is one of the best thrillers of the year, and a powerhouse of gut-wrenching terror. There are few films as visceral as this.

Great film, with a survivalist element to it. My initial impression from the reviews I read gave me the preconceived notion that this would play out a little like Texas Chainsaw and a little like The Collector. While the film is certainly sliced from the sake vein it carves out its own bloody personality and succeeds in creating a taut environment and convincing characters in a well written and beautifully performed script.

    GREEN ROOM BLU

Green Room's unusual setting provides most of the interest in what boils down to more traditional horror fare at its base level. Performances are generally riveting, especially Stewart as a ne'er-do-well who is miles—indeed, universes—away from a certain Jean-Luc Picard. Technical merits are very good (video) to excellent (audio), and for those with a tolerance for some pretty gruesome violence, Green Room comes Recommended.

    A Real Thrill

Some people might consider this a horror film, because there are certainly moments that are horrifying. But I would consider it a very well done thriller. There is not a wasted moment in this movie. Every second of it has a purpose. And that purpose is to make you wonder how our protagonists are going to get out of the nightmare situation they find themselves in. Highly recommend.
