I've been using this charging cable for a week now. The quality of wire it self is sturdy and good. Its thicker than the genuine apple charging cable that comes with the laptop. I miss the light indicator though that was present on magsafe. I've noticed a lot of reviewers commented on magnet being weak. I disagree. Magnet is actually pretty strong. the problem lies in the weight of the wire. If you were to use the laptop placed on a desk or table with no movement of the macbook itself, magnet is going to work perfectly with no complains. but if you're someone who moves around a lot while using your mac or if you put your mac on your lap, this magnet wont work for you. Over all, i'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. its the best alternate so far for Magsafe and helps keep our Macbooks safe if someone trips over the charging cable.

This works exactly as I expected however there are two things you should be aware of. 1) This thing sticks out about 1/2 of an inch from the laptop so I suggest not leaving it in the Laptop as it can cause strain on the port. 2) The darn thing will only attach in one orientation. There are little lines on the top that tell you which side is up but they are faint and hard to see in a dark room or class.

The quick disconnect is nice and miss it from the new Apple laptop design. This is a good substitute!

Pros: feels solid, looks high end, works exactly as expected, excellent durability to cable, and USB-C connector VERY tightly snapped into the MacBook Pro power block. Cons: leaving magnet side "stub" plugged into MacBook isn't ideal for aesthetics and poses risk of being banged, perhaps damaging USB-C female connector; no little light to indicate charging.

I like the magnetic attachment and release. It protrudes a little more than I like but I still like the member feature

So we all know that apple has done away with the MagSafe feature on apple computers. Thank you Best Buy and Griffin for bringing back a feature that is ideal for me. Will save me from drops due to accidental pulls on the cord. Worth every penny as a insurance investment.

With the new macs going the usb-c way, the cables dont detach safely like before. This cable adds the safe detach feature for the new mac charging and is useful if you have pets and kids.

The first day I bought it, I accidentally kicked the cord and the brake-safe technology worked perfectly. The cord broke cleanly at the magnetic connection and saved my new MacBook Pro from certain death. This might be some of the best money you will ever spend on your Apple laptop. (The Wintel world wishes they had this technology for their laptops). Siskel and Ebert two thumbs up!!!!

I like this little piece as it gives me security when I trip over a cord or forget it's there it just breaks away and my laptop just sits there safe and sound

The one thing I miss about the new Macbook Pros is the mag power connectors. This is a good replacement as I tend to grab, go and then realize I forgot my power supply.

This is a good improvement over a standard usb-c charger cable. Providing some protection from dragging your device off the desk. Has saved me several times when I tripped on the cable, works as intended the magnetic connection separates rather than dragging the laptop to the floor. Would be 5 stars but reminds me of the last generation Apple Magsafe chargers which separate at the slightest bump. Only time this was an issue was when I was using it on my couch. I still recommend this product, as it will save your laptop.

This is good replacement magnetic power cable for magsafe for my new 2016 macbook pro.

I love this charger because it's so sturdy. The cord is long enough to have the computer sitting apart from the wall. I also like the fact that your computer is safe in instances where the cord is yanked from the computer while plugged in. I am going to purchase another.

Newer macbooks come with usb-c so this brings back the beloved magsafe charging

I purchased this cause I didn't like the USB c that came with my pro 2016 but ran into an issue cause the cable would not work with my snap in case that was made by speck. If a revision came out that was smaller so it would work with cases I will rebuy. But I had to return this one.

This is a must have accessory if you have a young family. This has already saved my new MacBook twice since I bought it a month ago. The cord is a bit stiff but the magnet release works perfectly. I wish it were a little more low profile and made by apple but overall this thing is amazing!

This item has saved my MacBook from dropping to the ground several times. It is a lifesaver and would recommend this product to anyone.

This isn't as neat as the MagSafe plugs of Apple history. But it works as well. It's great to keep your laptop from flying off the table.

It's nice product when you have children. The cable is resistant.
