My kids are learning to play the guitar and this game is just a very nice complement and plus songs are very nice.

If you have played any previous Guitar Hero games, you know what you are getting into here. Your main things to watch are the track list (a lot more top 40s versus rock) and a very clicky guitar controller. Otherwise this is a lot of fun!

As a big fan of the original Guitar Hero series running up until 3, I was hoping for a breath of fresh air in this entry. Unfortunately, it was a breath of fresh air, in the wrong direction. The guitar controller itself has only 2 rows of 3 buttons that are labeled as white and black. I have only ever played these games on expert and found it impossible to do. Advanced, the next level down, is around 50 times easier than expert so not a great transition. The combinations the game requires you to manage with your fingers and buttons would make real guitarists cringe. Can't even use pinky! All in all, this is no longer guitar hero and the franchise has been dead since every release after 3.

I have loved Guitar hero games every since they were released. It's no different for Guitar Hero live, I will say it takes some time to get use to the new button setup on the guitar. Other then the next button setup it's a great game.
