It's a simple and fun game with some good improvements from previous games. Biggest issue is keeping the guitar connected which can be frustrating mid game.

Bought this for my kids. They like the game but told me it's really challenging for them. I got the game for 30 so I think it's worth what I paid for it.

I decided to pick this one up because it was like $17 with the GCU here. As someone who was literally addicted to Rock Band in high school, I was pretty disappointed in this game. The songs range in quality, some pretty good ones but also some misses. My two biggest complaints are the spirit of the game and the guitar controller. This game has no spirit. What made Rock Band and the older Guitar Hero games so great was that they were cartoony and arcadey. You got to either play as hyper-fictionalized rockstars or you could make your own character! In this one, it's sort of a FPRG (first-person rhythm game). You have a crowd cheering and booing you depending on your performance, I'd personally prefer having these cartoon characters over the screen rocking out as opposed to these weird hipsters. The other problem is the guitar controller. Instead of the 1x5 fret layout, it's 2x3. So while sometimes it's interesting because you make more of a power chord shape, it still doesn't work out great. It's confusing at first for what buttons you have to press (top or bottom). The quality of the guitar itself seems pretty poor too. Only after 2 songs of playing with the brand new guitar controller and it's already squeaking on the frets, whammy bar, and the strum bar. Pretty poor quality compared to previous controllers.

My daughter is still learning how to play this game & work the guitar. I think once she gets the hang of it, it'll be much more exciting to her.

Defiantly worth the buy would recommend this game.
