This is my first time using the H&R Block software on a CD or download on the computer and I’m very very happy with this software for many reasons: (1) as long as you have everything saved electronically in PDF files, It can Import last year tax returns, all W-2’s, Brokerages Stocks sells, you just verify after the import and 99% of times are correct. (2) It gay you through with explicit questions of details what do you need to enter. (3) It includes a free audit representative to represent you in case if you get audited by the IRS. (4) Up to five free federal filings, our family have three people individually and each one of us only have to pay $19.95 for the OR state filing, this is a lot cheaper than if we each pay separately through other companies out there such as TurboTax or Taxslayer and others. Overall I had a great experience good interaction with the software and most importantly is safer because I’m doing everything on my laptop and save data on my laptop until I’m ready to submit my filing. unlike other software online where you file online and constantly online and the date is saved on the cloud server. Will definitely buy this software again next year.

Great piece of software. It was easy to install and activate. It intermediately checked for tax updates before starting to guide step by step to do my return. First, it offers you the option to automatically download your W2 info so you don't have to type it all (if your employer is a participant of this system) saving a lot of time. Afterwards it guides you step by step confirming personal info, and then onto deductions, credits etc, super easy! It will automatically try to find you the best deductions and credits based on what you answer. Finally, it goes to a final automatic review to make sure there are no errors. When it was time to file, gives you the option to either print to mail, or file electronically (best way to do so!). One activation code gives you the chance to file 5 different FEDERAL returns included at no cost, however, if you also want to file your state return, its a one time payment of $19.95, which is very reasonable, if you want to get your refunds quickly! Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make their tax filling themselves and not having to pay anyone to do it!

I have been using H&R Block to file my taxes for many years and so far, I am pleased with the results. This is the first years that I decided to try out the software, as I have been using the online filing free software they provide. Needless to say, the software does get the job done, but with a few roadblocks. I installed the software on a MacBook pro which runs very smoothly. The thing I like best about it, is how quick and easy it is to start filing your taxes. The interface is neither great nor bad, to me it’s as basic as it can be. I do wish they did a better job at organizing the interface, as there are way too many tabs to click on. This makes it time consuming if your trying to find a specific option. Filing is made pretty easy though, with what they call the “interview process”, which is where the software asks you questions, and you fill in the blanks. The biggest issue that I had was trying to figure out how to file a 1099 Misc....The problem I faced was, the software kept giving me the wrong form, which resulted in my taxes being way off. The help menu isn’t very helpful at all, as it takes me to the form, but there are no instructions how to add the form to your taxes. After a few hours of trying to find the correct form, I finally managed to find it, and everything went smooth after that. Filing the state taxes was very easy as it takes all your info from federal and converts it, so you don’t need to re-enter it again. Once you finish with everything, the software runs the accuracy check, which can detect issues and so forth…Then it asks you if you would like to e-file or mail it off, at which the software informs you that you can file it 5 times for free with your activation code. The next screen then tells you that for just $19.99 they will file your state taxes as well… I was very disappointed to see this, as I have the Deluxe download version, and the front image of the box just has the words Federal with a check mark next to it, and State also with a checkmark next to it. The title of the software itself even says H&R Block Deluxe + State…The company needs to clarify that state is not filed with this software, that for an extra 19.99 (PLUS TAX) then it will file it. Overall, I can’t say that I’m satisfied with the whole process. While eventually I was able to get my taxes filed, I ended up wasting more time trying to find the correct forms than I would’ve like to. I also decided to conduct my own little experiment, by filling out the free online software from their website as well. I have to say that I find the free online software (which isn’t exactly free), much easier than the paid software. Both the results were exactly the same, only the online version took half the time. After all is said and done, I don’t think I would recommend this software to anyone.

I've used HR Block software for around 10 years and never had an issue. Easy to use and can always priced better than Turbo Tax software. 5 free federal e-files so family members can use it too. Only drawback is state e-file costs $20.

The H&R Block Deluxe tax software really makes filing your tax returns easy. It prompts you all the way through and depending how you answer, it knows to direct you to the next phase of the return. It also allows you to research right then and there online should you need to understand what it is you are filing or why you have to fill out a certain section or another form for your return. The best part of this software package is that it’s way less expensive than Turbo Tax.

The H& R Block Deluxe and State Tax Software is very easy to use and sells for much less than its major competition, Turbo Tax. I have used it to prepare my and my wife's taxes and those of my daughter for over ten years and it has always worked very well in both preparing our tax returns and in efiling them. I strongly recommend this tax software.

I have used H&R Block software for probably 20 years and have always considered it to be accurate and relatively easy to use (remember we are talking about filing taxes here). I have never had any issues with anything being reported incorrectly, or had anything questioned by the IRS. I have had an ongoing issue for several years that I have reported to H&R Block each year but has yet to be corrected. I have income that is reported on a Form K-1, and I have to override a couple of fields to enter some of the data (this is done according to instructions in the program). Because of the override, the program will not allow me to e-file my return. Another issue that I have concerns pricing of extras. I had to purchase an extra state tax program. It cost twice what I paid for the original program which includes one state program. Also, the product includes 5 federal e-files but no state e-files. If you e-file your state taxes, it costs extra. And each state e-file costs about twice what I paid for the original product. I realize that this is a profit center for H&R Block, but from a consumer's point of view I think it would make sense for the five e-files to be able to be used however the taxpayer needs them to be.

We have been using the H&R Block tax software for many years. It is easy to use and gives helpful prompts to help you figure out your income and deductions. The program imports the prior year information so once you prepare a year, the next year is easier.

Software installed easy, imported last years returns. includes 5 free electronically file returns and 1 free state return. bought on sale, great for the price. I don't have very complicated return, so this met my needs. I only have itemized deduction simple investments like interest and I don't have any self employment income.

Excellent overall software and cheaper than Turbotax, I converted a few years ago after using Turbotax for more than 15 years and even compared returns the first 2-3 years with no difference. If you are a basic tax person with family, no business or extras this is perfect for you.

I have been using tax software since 1997 (I'm a somewhat early adopter). This version appears to be accurate, informative, and easy to use. My tax situation isn't horribly complex (employed home owner with some assets, not a business owner). I ended up owing the IRS money, but that's not the software's fault.

Easy to use I changed from being a Turno Tax user for years. From my experience it has less issues with getting updates than Turno Tac does. Do wish a CD was included and state tax was free to file. $29.95 to file state taxes is too high,

I've been using the H&R Block tax software for quite a few years. It works well for me, and I also file my Dad's taxes as well. It works easily on a step by step basis and can preload much of the info if you've used it before and have the tax info saved on your computer, or a portable hard drive that the software detects and gathers the info from. I've had some investment losses that carried over for a few years and the software knew that and entered the info correctly. Be sure to check for any updates as tax season moves along and before you file, Also be sure to enter in the correct figures, since the tax software relies on your correct entries!! It works for me and I'm happy with the whole process:)

I’ve used H&R Block tax software every year for over 10 years and I will keep using it. It is easy to use and I believe it gets me the maximum refund possible. Plus, it easily imports the previous years information, saving you from redundancy in entering data.

Program costs less than TurboTax and so far seems to be just as good. I used TurboTax last year. H&R Block imported last years TurboTax data just like TurboTax would do. I have not finished my taxes, but so far Block is easy to use and does a good job.

I have been use H & R tax software for years now so easy to use and to load. It ask the questions and you mark your answers simple easy fast and it’s cheaper then TurboTax. If you have never used tax software this will walk you through it.

After using Turbo for many years, I switched to H&R almost a decade ago. I haven’t looked back since. Unless you are a diehard Quicken user, save yourself some money and try H&R. It’s a solid product that’s fairly priced.

Have been using H&R Block for over 6 years to do my taxes. Always imports past relevant information and walks you through step by step. Love the ease of use and ability to send federal return in via internet.

I have used this software to do my taxes for years now. I have found it easy to use and accurate. My taxes are pretty simple, but I have used the online help on occasion and found it to be useful.

I’ve used their software for the last 10+yrs and I’m never disappointed. The programs are easy to follow and very thorough. I wouldn’t waste time if money on anyone else’s tax software.
