I just used this device in conjunction with wireless mics. The audio was super clear and my future video Projects will have much improved audio.

I own the H4n and was having issues so this product was a need more than a want. I was thoroughly impressed with it. With the H4n, I had issues with battery life, adjusting audio on the fly, and being limited to only two inputs.
With the H6, the battery doesn't drain as quickly, you get the four XLR inputs with one more port for a Zoom extension mic. The dials on each input are very easy to change on the fly. The meters are great, the audio quality is great and the case it comes in is a nice bonus.
For me, the H6 is my go to audio device for everything I do.

This recorder captures high quality sound and with the different attachable microphones, you can customize it to specific situations. There are also many online video tutorials to help learn to use it, but I figured out the basics without too much learning curve.

Love this digital mic/recorder! Great flexibility, good readable vue meter, well built and not too big. Haven't tried it with multiple inputs only the two changeable mics. Good value for money and great audio quality.

This product is a bit pricy for what it does, but what it does, it does well. It's pretty, easy to use, and has 6 inputs (including the attached microphones). The included microphone attachments are great, but it doesn't come with the shotgun mic.

Zoom products don't get bad reviews and for good reason. I was toying with the idea between the sleeker H5 or the big honkin' H6 and I ended up going with the H6 because of the extra inputs. I didn't want to be limited over an $80 difference in price. Sure enough, my band's next show I approached the sound guy about it and he said he has the same one and has recorded over 1500 shows with his. He plugged in 4 parallel channels into mine and set the 120 degree stereo mic arrangement up and I had 6 3-hour audio tracks I later imported into my DAW to get a really nice balanced sound for my video. I had to buy a bigger SD card but I didn't care about that.
Bottom line - just get the H6 if you're trying to decide between the H5 and the H6. They have the same pre-amps but the H6 is just the fully loaded version. There's something to say for a well-built, well-constructed piece of equipment. If it feels solid and well made, chances are it is and it'll perform well. I also believe in "you get what you pay for."

I bought this recorder to use with my new Canon 80D. I have always been an amateur videographer and enjoy making and editing movies for fun. I wanted to step up my game a little and move to a DSLR camera but heard the sound wasn't the greatest. I purchased this recorder so I could get sound separately and put them together later. It works great. Sound is excellent, and there are plenty of accessories like the shotgun mic, and room to plug in XLR devices such as external microphones. I had no problems figuring out how to work it and I syncing the sound with third party software was a breeze. The sound quality is excellent and the recorder is very versatile. Keep in mind I am an amateur so if you are using this for professional purposes I can't really say how good it is but for me, no complaints.

For $400, you can't currently find a recorder as great as this. And if you ever will be able to, it will likely come from the Zoom family. Just great quality sound recorders, on a budget. The H6 is the top of the line, can't wait to get the shotgun attachment and the attachment to allow 2 extra channels. So easy to use, you don't even need the manual. The option to use it as an SD card reader OR a USB audio interface is a godsend. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I use this to capture audio and send an audio feed to my DSLR for video recording. Floor noise is very low for great recordings. I use wireless lavs to feed into the Zoom H6. Monitor audio with headphones and output into my DSLR as reference audio. The quality is most times good enough to use the video as is. I like that the Zoom saves individual tracks. Only drawback is that if I use 2 separate tracks in, when output to the DSLR it mixes the audio and does not record separate stereo tracks. It is good to use a separate recorder like this for quality, safety and confidence in audio recording. Build is high quality. Easy to use. Built in mics are great for backup audio and ambient sound pickup.

It's the best audio recorder that I could pick. Better than I imagined.
The only "problem" that you need to buy the adapter to plug it into the wall and make sure you will not run out of battery ( I don't like to check the batteries life often ).

SO I bought this H6 after my H4N began to produce iffy results with the recording files. This recorder had exactly what I needed to isolate input tracks and allow for individual editing of each mic. I wasn't able to do that with my H4. Plus it's a lot easier to work with.

This microphone was a gift for my husband. He has a YouTube Channel and shoots other videos that require quality sound. He was super pleased with the versatility and functionality! There are multiple audio channels and the two different mic’s depending on your recording needs.

Best sound recorder for any podcaster. I love the Zoom H6 it has lots of great features and a great build quality. The only problem is it eats batteries so if your recording on site make sure you have extras.

I was a producer on a radio show for 25 years until the show was discontinued. This recorder has the sound quality that I needed for a podcast that I am about to launch.
