Could be better ac

Excellent unit at a great price

Great Room A/C

Idaho cools down at night with open windows; I just needed to cool a 15' x 18' bedroom after dark, before bedtime. I'm very pleased with this purchase; when the A/C is turned on room temp drops 6 degrees in 1 1/2 hours. I love the "sleep" setting that increases the set temperature 2 deg F one hour after going to bed and then another 2 deg F the 2nd hour after going to bed (set at 70 deg F initially, the setting jumps to 72 an hour later, then to 74 an hour after that). The 6K BTU unit cools adequately after dark (when the sun isn't coming through the windows) but I would buy an 8K if used during the day. 3 fan speeds allow for low noise on low speed. Intallation isn't difficult. The remote only works if it's aimed directly at the A/C; so if the A/C is installed where you can't aim the remote at the front of the unit you have to get up or rely on the programed settings (like shut down after a programed time delay, etc).
