This is a fun film, although not as good as the original series. I like Rob Zombie's original work better.

Let first say this I'm a big halloween fan.I like rob zombie first outing doing halloween while he did change things around he still kept the halloween tone of the movie. Now with that being said halloween 2 is a much more different movie from the first one.All the character while still being played by the same acter and acttress are different. Not good different but bad.Let me say this the movie is about the aftermath of what happen in the first movie but here were things get a little friday the 13th.The reason why michael is killing in this movie is because his dead mother is telling to do it.Now on to Laurie her character is going threw some deep stuff in this movie not tell what but her character is a mess. Now I did like how the storyline was not like the first halloween that John Carpenter did but the movie made to much change to the character and to top it off the ending for this movie is better if you watch the rated verson because the unrated ending is just bad it was like rob zombie took what ending he put in devils rejects and put it in halloween two just because he could not think of a better ending. The movie dose make up for some of the stuff by some pretty sick kills. When it come down to it this movie is a movie your ether going to like, hate,or maybe love.I found myself liking this movie R rated cut better than the unrated and hope that when halloween 3 comes out it will be better and still have the same acters and actress that live in this one

For me the best part of this film was the character of Annie and her father. Daniela Harris really made this film for me and a lot of Halloween fans I have had the chance to talk to. Her death scene really made this film a three out of five rating for me, if not for Brad and Daniela acting this film would have got a 1.5 out of 5 rating from me. I must give credit to Zombie for making the backlash for the characters and how they all got damaged so well and how well written it was. Other then those things this is just an above average film for me. Halloween 2007 was way better. On a side note the death scenes were very realistic which is rare in a horror film.

I dont understand what people's problem with this movie is. Rob Zombie has done something interesting with this movie which is give us a unique point of view from the meyers family. What people don't understand is that this sequel is not about Michael, its a new take on Laurie Strode. It's what would happen to a regular 17 year old kid when she finds out the truth about her past and that the person who killed her friends is actually her brother.
The story is great because we see something thats never been seen before, what goes on in the head of michael meyers. Not that i agree 100% with everything in this movie but its still alot better than other previous halloween movies. This a good movie to enjoy if you have an open mind.

I just puchased this today. Being a big Halloween fan, I had to get this one as well. Knowing how to take Rob Zombie films isn't always easy.. I think he started out with a good idea. At first I hated his 2007 Halloween. But after realizing John Carpenter told him to make it his own. I gained an appreciation. Now this film goes againt JC's original concept of Michael as a tiger who stalks his prey. This Michael was very vicious, which was nice about the movie. Tyler Mane is an intimidating Michael Myers..After I watch this more, it may grow on me.
The Positive: Was very graphic and Love the way Zombie always reinvents the mask. Zombie's movies are always unique. Good music and the sound of the violence is great.
The Negative: Rob Zombie always seems to have white trash in all his films..It's getting old. The bad language seems to be used, like in everyone of his films, too much like just for the sake of cussing. I appreciate the love he has for his wife, but her character only hurt the movie to me. It was a twist in the plot that shouldn't have even been used. I think this movie was rushed and wasn't well done.
Blu Ray: Sound Quality is excellent. In some scenes it's grainy almost like snow dots.. (it's not the tv) I notice these things.
I would Recommend, ifa die hard Myers and Zombie fan!!!!
Otherwise, It's a renter.

When people say Rob Zombie has destroyed the Halloween franchise, I ask them one question: Name 5 horror movies that have been awesome in the past 5 years? He didnt destroy it, he changed the focus from the main character Lorie to Michael Myers. Just because it's not the same as the original doesnt mean it isnt as good. Plus who the hell is going to pay to see a movie that is scene for scene from the original? Maybe the same people who thought he destroyed the franchise... anyways if you want to see a different take on the Halloween movies... this sequel is sure enough going to give you what you need.

Wherever or not you enjoyed Rob Zombies "re-imagining" of Halloween. You cannot deny that he injected new life in to the franchise. Bringing something new and different to the series while still managing to make it feel somehow familiar. In this sequel Zombie totally makes it his own. Though the first twenty minutes are similar to the 1981 version and takes place in a hospital. After that the film jumps ahead two years and mainly deals with the trauma, nightmares and bizarre hallucinations that plague Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor-Compton). The cinematography is dark and grimy lit. Visually this gives a real, almost documentary feel to the film. As with the first film the kills are brutal. Zombie photographs violence like no one else. Nothing comic about the gore in this. The way its shot and the sound FX of cracking flesh and bones are truly disturbing. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was Michael Myers "new" look. Gone are the blue overalls. What we have now is a hooded coat and half torn mask revealing his face. But this is just an insignificant detail because Tyler Mane is still the most frightening Michael ever. I may not really agree with what Zombie has done with Michaels look, but the direction that he takes Dr. Loomis (Malcolm McDowell) is a stroke of genius. In a separate story that runs alongside Myers and Strode. We see that Loomis has become a fame hungry arrogant sell-out, who will do anything to exploit his association with Myers. Even if it means putting people in danger. Sherri Moon-Zombie is back as Michael's mother. In what maybe a homage to Psycho? She appears to Michael in creepy hallucinations. Other cast members that stand out are Brad Dourif, Danielle Harris and Caroline Williams. Oh and lookout for a humorous Weird Al Yankovic cameo. I would highly recommend horror/slasher fans giving this ago. But be warned to truly appreciate this I think you may have to be that a Rob Zombie fan.

I've read elsewhere on the web that a lot of people have major problems with overall shoe string budget quality feel of director Rob Zombie's 2009 remake of Halloween 2. And also from that the overall picture failed in conveying a particular engaging story. I completely disagree or and in fact have to say that those low level aesthetics and shooting on the fly is what makes this film such a rich experience and a strong standout from the heard of remakes that we keep seeing year to year. I feel that Zombie has a very firm grasp on the release of dread and a control of the character development while still moving the story along in broad strokes. Most telling is the pizza dinner scene where Sheriff Brackett , Laurie, and Annie try to share a normal and calm makeshift family dinner before Laurie erupts into an ill timed emotional outburst that just drips with the looming dread that just lurks around the corner. But mainly the first 20 or so minutes with Laurie evading a grizzly murder via a now bearded almost more human Michel Myers in a dreary grey hospital just pumps with anxious momentum that thrives on a less is more approach. I wasn't going in to this a Rob Zombie fan but I left with the enjoyment of experiencing a hyper stylish, cool, blood drenched slasher epic. Plus the soundtrack and dream sequences work pretty well. I mean its cool so whatever....

I love what Rob Zombie did with this franchise, Michael Myers needed this overhaul. Before he was boring, slow moving, acted like he wasn't very motivated by his killing and now he shanks people 100 times just to make sure they're nice and dead. This was by far the most brutal and gore filled version of the story. I think anyone who appreciates movies for what they are and horror movies in general will love this movie. Any true Rob Zombie fan will find some peace somewhere in it, I know I did.
