disclaimer: I am a fan of Halo (played all of the games, read books, etc) so this review may be slightly skewed Campaign: 4/5 - on bit shorter than others, but solid and fun. if you have played Halo before, I would start on the Heroic difficulty. Multiplayer: 5/5 - Warzone is FANTASTIC! It includes 24 players with team objectives with no time limit. many of the objectives are enemy groups that spawn throughout the match. Extras for this Limited Version: 3/5 - the Dossier papers are ok. the little guardian metal statue/puzzle is neat. the warzone REQ Pack is nice to have!

This edition is spendy at $100. Highly recommend using your gamers club discount on this one as it doesn't feel worth the asking price by Microsoft. This isn't a Best Buy issue at all, if anything, they help the score due to the fact that I paid $80 for it instead of $100. Huge fan of the series. I wish the story had a little more detail to it (especially regarding Blue Team) and split screen co-op. The split-screen is definitely a downer here. But great multiplayer, good graphics! A for sure pick up for any Halo fan.

343 really outdid themselves. Its back to basics in halo 5 and it couldnt feel better. The campaign is as challenging as ever and the fireteam option is done well. The multiplayer is great with 343 adopting the classic options of team slayer and other game modes. Warzone is a great combination of pvp, objective missions, and pve. Definitely a must own for any xbox one owner. Great gift for coming holidays as well.

Halo 5 is the next entry in a long saga of sci-fi action shooter games. This entry brings with it the XBOX ONE's ability to create epic campaign battles with hordes of enemies that you can tackle with your friends online. Don't expect couch co-op with this one though, as split-screen play has been removed. However, in return the most polished-looking Spartan experience is achieved.

I am a huge Halo fan and had high hopes for the first game on the Xbox One. I was not disappointed. I feel the campaign didn't feature enough of the Master Chief and didn't explain how he was reunited with Blue Team (I know how, but if you don't read the novels and comics you might not). It was nice to get to know more about Spartan Locke's team and I love the return of Buck! Hopefully Halo 6's campaign is an improvement. Multiplayer is a great. The arena modes are balanced and the game plays very well. Warzone can be fun, but also chaotic and sometimes you can feel like you are being dominated. The limited edition is worth it if you are a big Halo fan. You get the Warzone req pack bundle and the Fall of Reach animated series. Also a small metal model of a Guardian and the steelbook case.

343's Halo 4 didn't stray from the extended lore of Halo and neither does Halo 5 Guardians. Fans of the series will love the new gameplay, with what I believe is the best designed campaign levels yet, but if you're not up to date with the extended lore from other media, you might not know what's going on with some of the characters and get pretty confused at what's going on. The multiplayer is the most fast-paced it's ever been, but the lack of variety in map selection might leave it a bit stale until the promised free DLC maps start rolling in. The large scale Warzone is truly the gem of this installment, with a mix of Big Team Battle, AI enemies and territories to capture. This, mixed with your REQ cards you earn throughout playing really make this the grandest Halo multiplayer experience yet. As far as the Limited Edition itself, it all depends on how much of a fan you are of the series. It includes the $25 Warzone REQ Bundle, so the extra $15 goes to an oversize metal game case, a neat (but difficult to build) Metal Earth Guardian statue and some paper with some mildly interesting flavor text. You also get access to The Fall of Reach animated series, which introduces Blue Team. Overall, I believe it's worth the purchase if you know you're going to appreciate the extras, especially if you have Gamer's Club Unlocked.

I am a big fan of the halo series, and so I knew I had to jump on this offer when I saw that bestbuy was goving free DLC for pre-ordering. The game is beautiful graphics wise, and the combat feels just like halo is meant to be, despite the added mechanics, 343 managed to balance it perfectly. As far as the campaign goes, I loved it. It wasn't the best, but I wasn't expecting the best being that its the 2nd part of a trilogy. The game came with some DLC which I found to be great, as well as some informational cards on every member of each team from the campaign, I found them to be interesting, and I'll probably display them. The aluminum casing of the game is very nice and looks great on my shelf. This item also came with an aluminum statue of a guardian from the game. I find it very fun to construct, but slightly time consuming, and confusing for first time builders being that the instructions arent very clear; as I write this, Im not even done building it. Its also quite fragile, so BE CAREFUL. All in all though, I am quite pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this to anyone.

The campaign expands heavily on halo lore. If you are a fan of the expanded universe every thing will make sense, if not they do an alright job of getting you up to speed. Read the book fall of reach will help give you more background info on blue team and why they are so important. So maybe read up or get the cliff notes online because it will enhance your experience. Boss battles, enemy variety and multiple/hidden paths all add a new layer of depth to halo besides story and shooting mechanics. Multiplayer is what I've wanted from halo for a long time something fresh and exciting all while still keeping the essence of halo MP. 343i nailed it this time around everything feels tight and fair. Warzone is a nice addition and can have some crazy moments. Big team was just added as well as weekend playlists ranging from doubles to Shotty snipers. Although there's variety its no where near halo 3. It's more of a rotation than set playlists if that makes sense All in all a great overall multiplayer suite. I

Graphics-wise this is the smoothest best looking Halo yet. The new controls take some adjustment but with all the control styles and soon the ability to re-map the controller, users' shouldn't have any issue finding something comfortable. The campaign seems a little short but you will find more than enough to do in multiplayer.

As far as multiplayer goes for Halo titles, this is the best game released in a while. The limited edition is definitely not worth the extra $40 unless you really are into the memorabilia (and even that is lacking). Campaign cinematics look excellent, but who really plays this for the story? Multiplayer: the arena ranking system seems like a great way to go about assigning skill levels (very similar to Reach). Things I don't like about matchmaking: You cannot see other player's ratings in-game, you cannot see playlist populations, and a couple actions are odd (the ground pound is weird, as is the charge melee). Things I like about matchmaking: It stresses quality of match rather than quantity of matches - takes a little longer to find a match sometimes but you can tell it is finding players with similar skill. The variety of useful weapons is surprisingly decent and well-balanced. While BR/DMR starts are non-existent, the long-range accuracy of the pistol gives the game a much better feel than the AR heavy matches of games prior. It feels like this game has the biggest skill gap since Halo 3.

It is an excellent game, definitely one of the best shooters out there. The only thing I do not like about Halo 5, is that there is no more split screen game mode, but besides that, everything is great, the MP, the campaigns, the maps. Great game.

It's Halo looking. The story has a lot not going for it. It's no where near as the good as the story they were able to create in Reach. Without giving anything away you don't play much as Master Chief. The characters are not fleshed out like they were in Reach. The graphics are great in single player. Warzone (the new multi mode) isn't that fun, at least to me. It feels like they added a bunch of different mechanics from other shooting games which makes it feel off: cards from Titanfall, aiming down the sight from COD, paired down moving mechanic from Advanced Warfare etc etc. I do not understand what the extra money gives you. There's no season pass all the maps will be available for free. It really doesn't feel like a good value for the money. Just get the regular 60 dollar game.

I'm primarily a single player campaign person, so I was let down by the story. Also very let down by the lack of offline coop. But the gameplay and mechanics are excellent as is the production value and multiplayer. Limited edition is nice, but pricey compared to what you are getting.

It's hard to rate this game. I've played every HALO game in the entire franchise religiously before this one so I can get a little critical of them, knowing what else I'm comparing to. Well anyway, here it goes: as expected, the multiplayer trumps the campaign, but by perhaps too much. The campaign mode feels monotonous and your (terrible) AI partners do not help. The story is only alright, but the levels do pick up a little bit later on, so rest assured if you just started, it will get better. Now, online is where this game really hits its stride. The matches are fun, GREAT with a party, and the new Warzone game is unbelievable. If you have played HALO in the past and really enjoyed it, or are just looking for a new game to play with friends, look no further. But if you are someone who never really enjoyed HALO games and found them hard to get into, I'm not quite sure this will really sway you.

This review is for the campaign only. I disagree with some reviewers who said that the campaign was too short, it felt (to me anyways) about as long as Halo: Reach and Halo 4. The new controls are very touchy, even on the lowest settings, and definitely take some getting used to. The graphics are superb, but the story does leave a bit to be desired (I have also read that the story in Halo 5 ties directly to the books, which I don't have the time to read, Games = canon). The best addition to Halo 5, for me anyways, was the new armor abilities. The ability to jet in any direction is huge when under attack, and can save you a few respawns if used correctly. The ground pound is another great addition, but good luck using that on any setting higher than normal. All in all, another great Halo game.
