Wow so this game wasn't by any means what I expected. The stunningly smooth 60FPS is a refreshing advancement for the Xbox One hardware over some other current generation games that have been offered. While I am not a fan of the game not being 1080p, the graphics are stilt stunning and provide moments of awe during the campaign when I simply had to stop, put down the controller, and look at the beauty. I found the storyline enjoyable, if not a tiny bit hard to follow at times. Never once during the story did I feel like I was mission out on action though. While there is the standard go from point A to point B format of any FPS shooter, it manages to keep your attention the entire time. Multiplayer is where this game truly shines though with excellent advancements in the Arena and brand new addition of Warzones. My only complaint about multiplayer is that I don't have enough time to play it more! The REQ packs being both in game currency and available for cash make it easier though for players that have little time to play the game, but still want to get cool non-game breaking items. On average I found myself playing for about an hour of multiplayer to get enough REQ points to purchase a gold pack which in real cash is $2.99. The Halo 5 experience also branches out online to the halowaypoint website and allows you see cool stats, join a Spartan company (group of friends), and check out your cool REQ gear. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to suggest this game to any Xbox owners or even to get people interested in Xbox One.

I haven't beaten the game yet but so far it's a blast to play. The refinement of the control mechanics are great and the multiplayer is fantastic. Halo 2 level even. The campaign is fun as well although the story is all over the place. Graphics and Sound are up there with the best AAA action games. Overall not quite as good as Halo 4 but still a fantastic game in my opinion.

My review is based upon the art, engineering and game play. This game is a must have for any Halo fan. The story is well written for as much as you can deliver in a game, the graphics are well designed and immersive and the game play is very fluid. I've seen a lot of bad reviews about this game and I can't agree with one of them. This game is definitely a step in the right direction for the franchise!

Halo 5 is a fantastic game but it is not without flaws. The campaign had all the potential to be the best Halo has ever created but the misleading, "Hunt the Truth" television ads, and underwhelming story arc that takes it's place. The campaign is solid 8, but my expectations shaped by the ad campaign was never realized, and that truly was disappointing. The multiplayer is fantastic, the movement is buttery smooth and the shooting is at it's best. The new features truly make your Spartan feel like a super solider for the first time in this great franchises history. There are only two flaws in the multiplayer quitting and the ranking system being tied to winning the game mode. The first is only a problem because once someone quits you are playing 4 V 3 in team arena. This happens at least 25 percent of the time and really makes those matches frustrating for both the winning and losing teams. Second, ranking up doesn't account for individual performance which makes playing with a random party quite difficult. I work hard, and so do my friend we can't always play together but playing with random teams can be painfully bad. Even with good teamwork you can't always carry extremely poor players. I hope this helps.

This is a great game and very well done graphically. The storyline is okay, but the AI is terrible... definitely meant to be played with 3 other real people. The multiplayer is good. The graphics on some levels look a little simplified. The REQs add an interesting aspect to the game and don't give huge advantages to people who play hours on end.

Halo 5 is an awesome game and one of the best for the new generation consoles. 343 Industries has done an excellent job. The gameplay is smooth and runs at 60fps, but lacks the detail in objects that are far away. Multi-player is fun as always and the campaign mission is a blast when playing with a fire team of 3 others. Solo mission is bland due to "box of rocks" AI team mates.

For me playing Halo is about the single player campaign. Im not very good at FPS's. 343 Has done a great job taking over the mantle from Bungie. The story is good, controls are perfect, graphics second to none and voice acting is best in the series. If you are a FPS fan and or new to the series, you shouldn't be disappointed.

Long time fan of the Halo Franchise here. Every subsequent game brings in a new set of features and game play abilities, and the story just keeps expanding. If you've played one Halo, you've played them all--but the thing that really struck me about this game is the story and the music. Yes, I was the nerd who watched the launch event the night before. I had the game the day it came out. And I played through the story very quickly. But the cut scenes...I was glued to my TV! Halo 4's missions all felt a little bit too long...Halo 5 returned these to a manageable length, where you can knock a couple out in an hour without perfect skilled play. The music was AMAZING. Oh, and did I mention the cut scenes? The opening live action scene did a great job getting you pumped for the game, can't tell you how many times I've rematched it. I'd definitely recommend if you like the Halo games, for the story alone. Playing through multiple times has not gotten boring (yet). Multiplayer is great, but the new player abilities make for a little bit of a learning curve. Still, well worth it, and tons of fun. I just wished they had kept split screen. Oh well...

A huge upgrade from Halo 4. Graphics are smooth, multiplayer is super fast and lag free. Story mode is engaging, and the co-op story makes sure you share the experience with friends. I would put this title right up there with Destiny as my two favorite titles so far this year. A good buy!!

One month I binged on all 5 Halo games, only having played 1 and 2 sporadically before that. While the first Halo is probably still my favorite, Halo 5 stands at a close second. After spending three games battling the Flood, the introduction of the Prometheans in 4 was a nice change of pace to the flavor of enemies you fight. But 5 cranks everything up another few notches. The graphics shine on XBox One. The level design is the most detailed and interesting it has ever been. And the inclusion of 4-person squads (you alternate between Master Chief's Blue Team and Spartan Locke's Fireteam Osiris... and you can do 4-player co-op) really adds new dimensions to gameplay. Your teammates will banter during combat, you can have them focus fire on an enemy or regroup or even heal you when you are damaged. Halo 4 really felt like a transition point to me, with new enemies and a new status quo for Master Chief, but more of a promise of better things to come than the actual delivery of it. But then Halo 5 brought all those things. After sticking to the formula for so long, Halo 5 really feels like a revitalization of the franchise.

Let's get straight to the point. Single player is not all that it was hyped up to be. Multiplayer is where its at. Warzone is Halos version of Battlefield's massive pvp but with a twist, objectives and such. Slayer is fun. Sadly no split screen. But if you want to jump on Xbox live and play, this is your game.

Halo 5 is fun and the story is great. The Co-op campaign is where the game really shines for me. This game is meant to be played with friends whether in co-op campaign mode or online multiplayer. Halo 5 brings back a lot of classic weapons and vehicles in the new Warzone mode. its a lot of fun!

The game play is smooth and fluid, but this time around they threw in a few twists, now you unlock REQ packs (like trading card pack) with the currency you receive when playing online. This threw me off at first but I soon adjusted. In anticipation I called my friend over to come play the game with me only to find out that there is NO offline co-op available, in fact you can't even bring a friend along online from the same console. 343 did a great job on aesthetics but failed hard, yet again at making an A+ halo. I mean, this is the FIRST halo where you can't play co-op campaign or online via split screen, to me this is outrageous because that has always been a staple in the halo series, what if your friends don't own an xbone? How are you supposed to play the story together? Nevertheless, I would still recommend this game as it truly is gorgeous and the game play is solid. But this is definitely not a "Must own" for the Xbox one. Bungie, pls come back, these scrubs are ruining everything you built.

I get that few people actually play Halo for the campaign, but I feel it's important to note that the single-player experience here is just as short, and ultimately unsatisfying as Halo 2. Like that entry, the story ends right when it feels like a second act would naturally begin, and I found that rather annoying, especially given that, if they were going to truncate the campaign, they should have made the buddy AI much better. Your fireteam companions, unless controlled by friends, are going to be next to useless on higher difficulty levels, so if unless you really want the Lone Wolf Achievement then bring people who you can count on for a Legendary run. Multiplayer is vastly improved over the new entry, the Warzone mode is like a mini chaotic campaign, and the other classic modes are as good as they ever were. Sine this is where most will spend their time it is where the most effort was put in, and it shows. It should provide hours of tense battles for people willing to sink their time into it.

Halo 5 is an amazing game. It has an incredible multiplayer experience with lots of new content, and the story is great as well. The only reason I am giving this game 4 out of 5 stars is because it no longer features split-screen mode. That means only one person can play this game at a time.

Halo 5 looks amazing at 60fps and the graphics are awesome with space battles going on in the background as you fight soldiers on foot. The story is fun to play through with friends and the tweaks made to multiplayer all make sense. In my opinion it's the best shooter released this year.

The game is amazing looking. The shooting feels great, runs at a super smooth 60 FPS. The music and weapon sounds are like candy for my ears. The new skills and improved weapons really add to the combat fun. My two issues are not enough Chief and the squad AI is really not that great.

This is 2015 & everyone is looking at everything so that they can complain. Internet tough guys (and girls) that are unhappy no matter what & all they do is complain. I however, am not one of those type of fellows. I'm a 37yr old father of 3 (all boys) that's been playing video games since the Atari 2600 days of the early 80's. I've played thousands of games on just about every system that's come out in the last 30+yrs. When it comes to gaming there's only 1 thing I care about, is it fun? If it's fun to play then that's all that matters, period. At the end of the day Halo 5 is an excellent game that I find to be fun, so far. I've completed the campaign & really enjoyed the focus on co-op as well being able to issue basic commands to your ever present squad. I've only scratched the surface on multiplayer but so far it's been a blast. There's a ton of new things they put in & a ton of series staples they just left alone or polished. 343 has done some amazing work & had some awfully big shoes to fill when they took the franchise from Bungie. Give it a try & if it's fun, you won!
