Gets the job done. It's the type that cuts the whole lid off, so caution with the sharp can is advisable.

This was the first can opener that easily opened cans that I've found in the past 40 years. It easily opened cans without any burrs or resulted in cans that were almost opened, but the lid was still. I am very happy with my purchase.

I had been searching to replace a previous opener that I loved and had for over 15 years. This one comes close to it and so far it’s an excellent replacement. It takes the lid off without leaving jagged edges it’s a nice clean cut. I hope it lasts as long or longer than my first one.

This can opener changed my life. Okay, that's dramatic, but seriously I was previously fighting with a handheld opener that made me despise cans without a pull top. This does a great job and I've used it for cans that are quite large. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend or buy again.

I’ve had this same can opener for many years. I like it so well that I bought another one just like it to have as a backup in case Hamilton Beach decides to stop making this model. This is a GREAT CAN OPENER!!

My mom and I both were having a hard time opening cans with a manual can opener lately, so we both decided to get this electric can opener- and it worked perfectly when she used it to open a can of vegetables. No mess- opened the can with ease and left just a smooth opening on top and no sharp edges on both the can and the lid!!! One of the best investments we've made within the last 2 and a half months!

This can opener removes the top "lid" off of the can instead of just cutting out the top. You simply put the lid up to the guard and "push" the lever. It is every smooth in it's operation however, the lever is just a tad too firm to have to hold down while it is cutting the can. It doesn't stop "running" after it has made the rotation to cut the can so you have to listen for the change in tone of the motor to know that it has completed. I bought this for my elderly parent with arthritic hands as this one seemed to be the easiest to operate. Overall she has told me that it has performed well and she is now happy that she can prepare her wonderful meals with ease!

A good and elegantly simple can opener. Takes some time to get used to the layout.
