Went into this thinking it would be another cheesy horror movie, only to find that it was smart and funny. The "Groundhog Day" premise has been used before, but I thought they gave it a clever twist with the main character's sometimes comical deaths. In some ways it reminded me of the first Scream film. It had comedic elements, strong female lead, the mystery of figuring out who the killer was. I also thought it was impressive that they made the main character kind of unlikable in the beginning and had you rooting for her by the end. I really liked it and its sequel.

I hate scary movies. I can't handle them. I didn't really want to see this, but I had moviepass at the time and figured if I hated it I'd just leave. Turned out to be such a good film I bought it! This movie leans heavily on the comedic side of the spectrum. There may be a few jump scares and there are definitely some gruesome things that happen, but nothing that will keep you up at night or give you nightmares. My entire family adores Happy Death Day and its sequel, and we quote it every time someone has a birthday. 'Cause it's their birthday and they ain't gotta pick up the phone!

Here’s a film that gave me a mashup of “Groundhog Day” and “Scream” that I never knew I wanted! The film is a pretty great little horror film about a college student that keeps repeating the same day that she’s murdered on and must find out who the killer is in order to stop the time loop. The film never takes itself too seriously and its self-aware attitude also helps while the entire cast does a pretty great job as well. Great fun for any fans of horror.

I actually didn't watch this film until recently, because the title and poster really didn't appeal to me. It didn't sound like something I would enjoy, but a friend urged me to check it out, and I ended up loving both of the Happy Death Day movies! I truly wish they had done a better job marketing this, because I feel I missed out by waiting so long.

Though I personally could've used more blood, Happy Death Day is a breath of fresh air into the horror genre and proof that both horror comedy and PG-13 horror should not be dismissed. It's a fun introduction into an intimidating genre. Handling it's leading ladies transition very believably, HDD delivers every step of the way.

This movie was a little bit of horror and comedy combined but all in all a fun flick to watch. I got a little Groundhog Day vibe from this film mixed with some crazy kills. Just picture it like if the groundhog were to come out of his hole, but then get decapitated over and over in a loop.

I'll include myself with others that can say this move was better than I thought it would be. It has a Groundhog Day aspect, but not just repeating the day, but her becoming a better person just like Groundhog Day. Always enjoy watching movies where the characters become better people.

Basically this movie is Groundhog Day meets Scream. A sorority girl keeps reliving the same day over and over as she tries to avoid a killer and figure out who it is that keeps getting her and sending her back to the starting line.

I have to say I wasn't expecting much from this movie. It ended up turning into one of my favorite horror comedies in recent memory. If you like Groundhog Day and you liked Scream than this movie is perfect for you.

I kept seeing mixed reviews but take a look at this one if you missed it. I do prefer R rated horror but this one was fine without the R and could be watched by non horror fans as well. Planning on seeing part 2 in 2019.

This is more of a black comedy than a slasher flic. Jessica Rothe is funny and charming as lead character Tree Gelbman. Everyone seems like they had a great time making this movie, and it translates to the screen.

I watched this once and thought it was good. Then I watched it again and again. It got better every time till I had to buy it. I know it's Groundhog Day but, it has an even better story and message.

Although it's like the groundhog day movie all over again it still was a good movie. It has it own twist, the suspense of a killer showing up over and over had me on the edge.

A lot of comedy, but slasher fans should still appreciate this one. It keeps you entertained and nothing to take seriously. Check this one out before the sequel for sure.

A mash up of Groundhog Day, Heathers and Scream, this one is a fun surprise. It has a good sense of humor and a star making turn by Jessica Rothe.

I was pleasantly surprised at this movie. Without spoiling the plot the director and cast does a great job handling the twisty evolution of the story line.

This is a really great film. Sure, the extras are a little lacking on the Blu-Ray but the film itself is great. I’d recommend part 2 as well!

When I saw it for the first time I really enjoyed it then the second came out enjoyed the movie so I decided to buy both on Blu-ray

Fun and interesting new twist on slasher films. I like when characters from horror films learn/stop doing stupid stuff.

This a cool movie about a hot college woman who has to keep reliving the same day until she can figure out who her murderer is.
