My wife got me this shield for my birthday and it is amazing. I did not have any issues with the craftsmanship or chips in the paint like I have seen people have had in other reviews. I used a high end car polish and put a good shine on it then sealed it in with some synthetic car wax. Now to figure out how to display it!

I waited until BestBuy got this in stock and boy am I glad I did. In a nutshell this is THE Captain America shield to get. Nothing else out there compares or comes close. I had a plastic shield for several years and wanted one that looked authentic and I could hang on my wall for serious decor in my home theater, and also take down to show off to friends. The metal shield just screams quality when you pick it up. It has leather straps on the rear but they are not adjustable even though there are buckle straps. If you want to adjust them you'd need to do that yourself. The front paint job is impeccable and allows you to see oh so faintly the aluminum metallic texture underneath. There is no white on the front of the shield. Instead the white parts are brushed aluminum. The central star has superb detail and probably the best feature and differentiator from the others out there. There is a circular brushed aluminum texture that makes ligh hitting it dance against the etched star. Whether you are a collector, fan or someone who wants the best replica shield out there this is it.

This shield is all metal, it looks amazing and the leather straps are durable. It will be a great addition to my Captain America costume. It is definitely worth it!
