Great movie about a haunted house I really enjoyed it.

Excellent classic haunted house story. Awesome cast and well written.

I had previously only seen the 1999 remake of this and, despite the cast, it just didn't leave a lasting impression. I read or watched some "top 10" list that mentioned this one more favorably than the later version - and, immediately recalled how much I enjoyed Vincent price's House on Haunted Hill - so I was pleased to see this here at a favorable price. From the very beginning of the movie it was clear that this was based on Hill House and offered a great deal more insight to the houses origins - which I felt added much greater (and enjoyable) context to the story. Additionally - I had previously watched the first season of The Haunting of Hill House and...just felt that I had to be missing something? So I didn't follow the show beyond that (Obviously I have not read the book) - but this version has definitely convinced me to give that another watch through and I believe it will enhance my enjoyment of that as well.

In the early 60's this was considered a frightening film, but not by today's standards. Black and White cinematography and acting top notch, but story is slow moving. Excellent added commentary. This blu-ray is hard to find in stock anywhere.

One of the greatest haunted house (is it the house?) and scary movies of all time. So happy to now own it on Blu ray.

I found this movie to be psychologically haunting and am very grateful the director did his best to imply the sapphic aspect despite the era. Great movie!!

I am a fan of Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House and so this movie was a must have for me.

i saw the remake of this first and found this original version, they are both great and this one is good for it's time.

If you saw the remake first then you'd probably never want to see the original.. Fortunately I saw this first. Trust the classics.

This is one of the essential old haunting films. This and the Uninvited, which was released by Criterion.

Blu-ray is the perfect medium for experiencing this classic horror film!

In truth I haven't finished the movie but it seems very well done and has a creepy vibe.

Slowly paced, but very atmospheric. Beautiful looking black & white image. Recommended.
