I bought this is anticipation of Microsoft updating the Xbox One to record shows from an over-the-air antenna. It hasn't happened yet, but this will at least allow you to watch and pause live tv right now. Currently, to record over-the-air broadcasts I am still using Windows Media Center on my computer and stream it to my Xbox. WMC hasn't really been a priority for Microsoft for some time so I thought this would be a good purchase to prepare for a future without WMC. The only real shortcoming of the Hauppage Xbox tuner is that there is only one tuner so you can't watch one show while recording another. Since we now live in a world with streaming services like Hulu Plus , Amazon Instant Video, and Netflix the only thing I ever find the need to record is sports, specifically the NFL, and I rarely if ever need to record more than one show at a time so it has become less of an issue for me. I still think that is enough to dock the product one star.

The is what you need to get local channels through the Xbox with an antenna. Works great. Nice little buy for just over $20

I mostly watch Netflix or Amazon on Xbox. It's nice to catch up on the news. With this adapter, I can now watch local channels on the Xbox. Remember, You still need an antenna.

Great invention, works well, bought another antenna besides the one that came with it from the store and got a few more channels.

I canceled Direct TV and replaced it with this. I only use local TV for news, weather and traffic so it is definitely worth the price.

While I feel that's it's overpriced it is awesome. Gives a "cable feel" with local over the air stations. Bought a amplified antenna to boost signal and I am very happy.

Works well with an antenna. Make sure you research online which channels will be available for use. If they are minimal, the tuner is a waste of money.

This does what it says it does. Allows you to watch over the air tv through your Xbox and allows you to pause and rewind up to 30 minutes of live tv using up to 4gb of storage on the Xbox one. The smart TV guide features of the Xbox make it easy to see what is currently on and what's coming up with over the air tv. With just an antenna plugged into the tv you don't get a traditional guide.

I got this item because the Plex app said that it was compatible to bring over the air television signals in, to work on my connected smart TV. It did exactly that. My only subtraction of a single star is because it doesn't come with a remote, which would be nice in some situation where I watch TV on the monitor.

It's exceptional at picking up PBS but not much else unless you buy an expensive antenna.

I purchased this product in order to get over the air channels in preparation for Xbox's DVR functionality release in 2016. The product does work as advertised, but the signal strength of the provided antenna is a bit weak. I would recommend purchasing a 3rd party antenna (amplified) to get the best possible range. I hope the DVR functionality works as expected and this will definitely be worth the price.

Already had one & purchased another but should've just gone to the Microsoft store like i did when i purchased the 1st one which i got bundled with an antenna

I stumbled upon this while browsing the BB story in my city. I have been interested in something like this for my XBONE for quite awhile but hadn't seen one. I brought it home and hooked it up and was disappointed, initially. I realized that I had my TV signal routed through my Home Theater tuner then into the XBONE. When routed the signal directly to the XBONE, it worked perfectly!

this adds functionality to your xbox that you didn't know you had. For example streaming live tv directly to your phone

When I was doing my research to buy an Xbox One, I knew I would want to pick this tuner up. Since I don't have cable and OTA is perfectly OK for me, I wanted the awesome features and flexibility this tuner adds to the Xbox One. I love the guide features and the 30 min DVR has been a boon. Buy this for your Xbox One if you don't have cable and want traditional TV.

Works great. Does exactly what it's designed to do. The xBox One interface - with the One Guide - is a nice enhancement to viewing off air television.

Been using the tuner for a few weeks now and only just found out that the antenna extends for better reception and more channels. Will be cutting my cable soon and using this as my primary live TV source. Keeping Hulu and Netflix for movies and saving nearly $75 dollars a month on cable bills.

Seamless TV tuner setup for the Xbox One, we were able to pick up 50+ channels with the tuner & Mohu Leaf 50. The OneGuide with Xbox One is amazing (pulls content guide for channels) and is very much like a cable box. With the tuner, the xbox is able to record up to 30 minutes of OTA which is great for having people over and needing to take a break.

This will get a few channels through your Xbox, but in reality you really need to pair it with a more powerful antenna than the one it comes with. The channel clarity is clear though for what you do get, think it got me about 7 channels. Maybe you might get more or less depending on your location.
