Written and directed by Spike Jonze, her is a movie that has a deep depiction of the idea of love. The story is about a man named Theodore Twombly and who is not content with his life. He is also under a marriage trouble while dealing with personal ones for himself. Until he comes across an operating system that's a highly advanced artificial intelligence that seemed so real to interact with. As Theodore shares his life with his digital girlfriend, he comes across more obstacles in his life and yet experiences many wondrous things along the way. The things he never experienced before. The movie is one of my favorites of all-time and I knew from the start that I just had to get this on bluray. Getting it on digital isn't enough. I've watched this a bunch of times and it reminded me how love can be experienced in many forms and still attain the relationship you can have with our significant other. Even at least, in mental form. The cinematography is absolutely wonderful and the acting is a superb. There weren't really any flaws to spot in the story and if there was, then correct me if I'm wrong then but the movie is really just downright heartwarming. If you're searching for a nice love story and with an addition of an open-mind then movie her is for you.

im a sucker for this type of story ever though it been told before. dont complain just enjoy it, man the visual ur welcome.

Such a great film and excellent performance by Joaquin Phoenix

This is a great movie. It focuses on a man who is recently divorced and besides his random encounters with friends is essentially alone and sad. He goes through his daily routine writing inspirational and loving messages for other people and goes home to essentially nothing. He one days sees a advertisement for a new operating system that is a advanced intelligence is programmed to learn and adapt and respond to you like you are talking to a real person. He purchases it and installs it and what eventually he begins to have feelings and experiences with this operating system known as Samantha. I won't ruin the plot any further but the film makes you think about what a relationship is and how much we are all glued to our technology. Its a great film and should not be overlooked.

"Her" is a very rich and profound romantic sci-fi comedy about a lonely man whose job is to write love letters for other lonely souls yet finds himself becoming 'involved' with an advanced operating system he's purchased to run his life, and the film somehow manages to be both a warm, touching story that audiences will be drawn into, as well as a probing look at both our socio-political obsession with technology and an accurate analysis of a love relationship in all its stages. What Jonze has done is a sort of miraculous mating of Frank Capra and Franz Kafka sans cynicism. Far from the stupid film it may sound like, it manages to be a detailed exploration of the human animal going through all the stages of a romantic relationship as well as a social critique of how much electronics have taken over our lives. Written and directed by the inimitably creative Spike Jonze, it is a film you'll be drawn into and think about long afterwards.

Just buy it! Totally solid and worth every penny!!

After reading the critics reviews, I was so eager to watch this movie simply because how it ends. And the ending made me surprised, but also confused. I cannot tell much about the story since it would be definitely spoiler. Not best movie in 2014 as some critics say, but interesting enough. Good things: - Scarlett Johansson's voice is so attractive. You can tell why she won many prizes only with voice acting. - Almost Joaquin Phoenix's one man playing. Just amazed how a good actor he is. Almost forgot he was an emperor in Gladiator. - Well written story, worthy for his Best Writing in Oscar. However, I cannot catch the meaning of the ending. Still thinking.... Overall, this is good movie.

Let me start off by saying Phoenix is an amazing actor. Johansson gave an awesome voice over for the operating system. The comedy in the movie was a pleasant suprise. Visually it's very pleasing, Spike Jonze used a very warm color pallet. My only complaint with the movie is the ending. It wasn't a bad ending nor an amazing one at that. It was something that throughout the movie you could kind of see coming. It just didn't wow me in a way that really sparked any emotions. Usually if I'm not sobbing like a little school girl by the end of a film it doesn't really do anything for me. But this movie was different, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The comedy was laugh out loud hilarious. Definitely recommend it.

I hesitated watching this because Spike Jonze films have left me disappointed and feeling just plain weird in the past, but I'm sorry I waited. I've rented this from Netflix, watched it on HBO, and finally decided to buy my own copy and have now seen it a total of 3 times. It's such a surreal, but frighteningly possible story! Phoenix is fantastic, so vulnerable and real despite acting so many scenes alone. Johansson is also at her lovable and confusing and emotional best despite "just" doing voiceover. This is a remarkable and very clever film. Well worth repeat viewings.

After years of debating to myself whether or not I should, I finally bought "Her" on Blu-ray recently. It's a shame I waited so long, because based on the unprofessional packaging condition of the Blu-ray disc I received, it seems this movie is now available at Best Buy only through a third-party seller. However, "Her" is still an excellent movie, and the special features/digital copy it comes with make for a very worthwhile experience. Get it before it's gone, because for all I know, it might be soon.

Her is, in my opinion, the best movie of 2013 and one of my favorites of all time. It is truly a modern masterpiece. With this movie, Spike Jonze blends sci-fi and romance seamlessly, by taking a completely original idea and adding the heart and soul of a romance movie into it. Joaquin Phoenix gives an incredible performance, and everyone else does great work as well. This is definetly a must see movie for everyone. The blu-ray PQ and AQ are also very good, the image is very crisp, and the movie sounds great on my surround sound system. A few extras are also included. Overall, this is a must-own disc for any movie lover!

Her is an excellent movie that definitely bears multiple viewings. The performances and visual design are first rate, and it's got genuinely moving as well as truly sexy moments. If you've seen any of Spike Jonez's other films, you know he tells stories that are completely original, thoughtful, and thematically rich. This movie explores not only the possibilities of artificial intelligence, but also the unique ways that modern communications technology fosters both connection and alienation. It got robbed at the Oscars in my opinion.

Joaquin Phoenix stars and excellent in this film directed by Spike Jonez. With this fantastic performance Joaquin should have at least got nominated for an Oscar. At least Spike Jonez took home the Oscar for best Original Screenplay, which is well deserved. The film is moving, emotional and feels so real on every level. They way this film explores the concept of love from a not so distance future is marvelous. The production design is way above average. Overall a must have and must see film.

Director Spike Jonze holds up a mirror to society and the result is a love story full of heartache and romance. It doesn't matter that the object of affection is a computer program. With just her voice, Scarlett Johansson embodies all the lustful characteristics that a full-bodied actress would. I dare you not to develop a crush of your own. Joaquin Phoenix is equally fantastic and empathetic. Highly recommended.

Rather than focus on the film, I'll focus on the disc itself. The transfer is nice enough. Chapter selection is a bit lackluster, but then again, anything that isn't Criterion seems to have chapter stops that need some work. The real problem is the lack of bonus features. The DVD contains one bonus feature. It's not bad, but a more in depth look at the making of this fantastic film would be appreciated. Still, if you just want the film, this works.

I actually really enjoyed this film. With the world today, being accepted is a big part of one's social needs. A lot of people just want to be accepted and will do anything to have that like the character in the movie. He wanted a perfect wife without having to put the work in to make the relationship work. I did enjoy the film and will highly recommend it.

It is a very entertaining but odd love story that will make you want to revisit it in the future. The film itself was a masterpiece that was beautifully done. Joaquin Phoenix was at his best in this film. I think this will hit close to peoples hearts because there are some people who are lonely in this world like this, so I think it is a sad love story but the movie all around is enjoyable.

I can see how someone could fall into this kind of relationship with the loneliness some of us feel, not me as I have a houseful but I can understand. Odd movie but think of the mind that came up with this and what kind of brain activity could create it. Worth a look see but not for everyone.

This is a Magnificent Film. The story just takes a simple love story. And times it by a 1000! Great acting the music is very memorable and singable. Not since The Notebook have I ever had a movie stay on my mind. This will touch everyone even those who been hurt in past relationships. Watch this movie and all is well. Excellent job Spike Jonze!

Truly of the best and most unique sci-fi/romance movies ever made. Unique in that Hollywood rarely combine sci-fi and love stories, and almost never in this fashion about a man falling for the AI controlling his new operating system. Even if you believe in the concept of "love knows no bounds." That concept will be refined in "Her."
