While the appliance performs the basic function of a dehumidifier very well the pump, that drained the tank failed. Hisense replaced the appliance twice and each time the pump failed within the warranty period. Save the money from the pump feature and go with the base model.

We use the pump function and although it's a little noisy (the pump) the unit works great in removing moisture from the basement. We have it set on auto and it's keeping the humidity at about 50%. Very happy with the product.

The one thing I would change in ordering would be to upsize the product

I bought it for the pump function, after about an year the pump stopped working, fortunately I bought geek squad protection and was able to get my money back in store credit. Will buy another one now.
If pump is not a factor for you then it still works well.
P.S. I did read about the pump failure in reviews but read rave reviews too so thought it won't happen to me.

This machine is very simple, and does it's job with a minimum of noise.
