DO NOT BUY

Cheap Price for a Cheaper TV

Barely lasted 1 year!

Half the tv is black.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This HisenseH6510G has turned out to be quite a surprise. The design is modern, the user interface is very easy to use and the Android software offers more streamlined usage than competitors like Roku or Smartcast. I am using the 75" model and can only speak about it specifically when it comes to picture performance. I primarily use it for movie watching and video gaming. Out of the box I did find the color to be very inaccurate and motion had quite a lot of judder. Blacks appeared more gray and bright highlights were over-blown. I did find that Rtings.com offered a great first time setup with some picture tweaks to get the TV to more accurately display the color volume and fix the motion judder issues. I then used the Xbox one's tv calibration software to further tweak the picture settings. I did this since I had found that even after applying the recommended settings from Rtings.com, yellow was too green, cyan was too blue, and magenta was too purple. After dialing in the backlight a little further and getting the color hue adjusted for those 3 colors (about 20 minutes of setup with my eyes alone). I found the picture to be outstanding. It gets quite bright despite its sub-300 nit peak luminance, colors appear accurate and well saturated, and both bright scene and dark scene detail was improved significantly. SDR performance is 2nd to none at this price point. HDR performance however, will require a professional calibration and even then this TV lacks local dimming which is necessary to take full advantage of HDR content. The Hisense H6510G is an admirable performer and no other TV offers this much picture for this little cash. If you are a cinephile on a budget and looking for a big screen TV, Then be sure to buy this one on sale and use the savings to hire the geek squad for a professional calibration.
